How can something in wooden crates take up less space? Do they have a hypercube of Jimmy Neutron in them?

Well, if there's a lot of stuff like clothes and blankets and such, then I guess it's compression. Not sure about any other stuff that would benefit much from this. Maybe sanitary towels and tampoons? Baby clothes just in case? For the rest, I'd probably throw in a lot of canned fruit.
People who can package stuff properly can save a LOT of space compared to people who don't, or who just throw all the stuff loose in the rear though. I worked at DHL, packaging containers and trucks, and there's a lot of difference in how well people manage to stack a few thousand boxes of variable sizes in the rear of a trailer truck. The top 5% of my collegues were able to fit as much as 30% more into a truck than the avarage ones. The bottom 20% were usually assigned other tasks, they were too expensive, wasting too much space and risking too much damage from crap falling over and tumbling around.

This is so right. I just went through a move of my household. I was amazed how efficiently the packers could fit all of the household goods in the moving trailer. They used the cubic space very tightly.
MC is so greedy. Apparently he thought his harem isn't big enough, as he had to bring one more in. And I suspect that ex follows you into Pine Falls later on, if you choose to tell her about it.
I wonder what stuff exactly he took into town. Survival rations? Not exactly gourmet meal I suppose. If he was planning for a long stay, he should have taken some seeds as well. They take barely any space and can provide for continuing survival. Some re-usable diapers might come handy after nine months also.
Anyway, I liked the plot and I was happy how it ended so far. Good mystery is always better than "it was just a dream" ending.
As none has reported it here yet, I saw one typo (I have habit of taking screenshots of them while I play, though not necessarily reporting them).

It's like playing Tetris, only in 3D. Great Tetris players rarely have open spaces in their 2D build. Great commercial packers just do the same thing in 3D space. You're either good at it or not.

The content of the crates will shine a light on what future MC wants.
If he wished to stay, he should be taking bags of seeds, tools, lots of wire, and cages of chickens and rabbits... That would have been a good beginning for vegetable gardens, eggs and replenishable meat. Prob'ly wishful thinking on my part.

One day, we'll have a pregnancy tag added to this game. It should actually have group sex currently, given multiple orgy scenes. Also, why is the milf tag on this game? The characters specifically say the older women are all gone; who is supposedly mother-aged? To me, every girl seems to be 30 or younger, including Erica. I must not be remembering one of them.

I hate that term being used for older ladies. It is Mom I would like to fuck. It doesn't specify age only the fact the person has children.

I agree. My point was just that, as far as I could tell, I didn't see any mothers in the game (my preferred use of the term MILF) nor middle-aged women (what seems to be more and more the modern usage of the term). The milf tag is on this game, but I don't see anyone fitting either use of the word. I suppose the closest would be Millie, but just b/c she puts her own breast milk into coffee doesn't mean she's ever been pregnant. And none of the women in the game seem middle-aged to me. I don't consider women in their 30s MILFs, unless you can show they've been pregnant.
I tried part 1 for like two hours but I didn't fall in love with it. The texts are a bit immature at times, especially the protagonist which behaves like he's 16 years old who kissed a girl for the first time in his life, but looks like he's 30-35 and does often behave that way too. The inconsistency breaks the flow and immersion of the story.
I do have to say though that I really appreciated the work on the sound effects, especially in the introduction. Car door closes, footsteps, etc. It really does wonders for immersion, could've been a bit more consistent though. This is something many other VNs could benefit from as well. The voice acting however doesn't add value in my opinion, especially since it's one-sided and extremely inconsistent.
Keep working though. I personally preferred Lancaster Boarding House but there are definitely many improvements in this game, and I'm looking forward to trying other games in the future.
