I really don't like roguelikes, but the game is too big to pass up, so I modified it to suit myself, here it is.
VERSION: 0.30.0.0 (installing the mod on other versions may break the game (or maybe not, but all content will be from 0.30.0.0)).
Mostly I removed restrictions in the game, changes made as needed so the list is incomplete.
-starting the game with negative points
-Infinite adaptation
-Starting with 500 gold should give 10 million (did not check, always forget to choose it)
-Trait ‘Picky’(15+ essences achievement) has infinite use and a pool of all existing essences
-ng+ resets hostility to 0(screw it, hight hostility means hordes of troops on map and ambush chance 50+% which makes exploring imposible, considering this the `free play` option is just a cruel joke)
-Windows for gene adaptation and enhancement(from some blessing) does not close when option selected
-Open gallery(closed images are not shown in the menu, but can be opened by clicking)
-Maximum number of genes - about 80
-Rewards for npc sidequests are limited to traits and boosts, and quests appear with a progression of 100
-There should be a few more changes, but I can't remember.
I mostly didn't change a numeric parameters because it is easier to do with the cheat engine
Installation:
Download modified Assembly-CSharp.dll and replace the original on the path .\PortalsOfPhereon_Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp.dll


Overall I like the game(I've even completed most achievements), but there are too much gameplay to me so I wouldn't ever play it without such modifications
I don't think these will work anymore with the changing.

still no magical transfer for giant characters to allow entry in smaller sized portals? jesus christ.
also the reduce in 1 partysize will break a lot of guides for about a day or so, can't believe people will have to loadout themselves for portals until they get the godbreeds up and running in a tighter way. i guess you get what you ask for, minmaxxers.
I think it's on purpose, same as water portals where no one who's can't breathe underwater, can go in. As far as I understand it's done to keep you having more variations of raiding party. That's where party presets in my opinion can help smooth experience. And personally I think it's OK. I know, most players like to stick to one hard boiled and polished party for all occasions in life, while changing nothing in it, but changing party to suit different situations looks more logical and fun, at least for me. Well it can also have some kind of tired flag after raid, to rotate parties thus getting most of your species and hybrids. Not sure how it will influence roguelike aspect of the game thou. Equipment management is pain in the ass, it should be split to columns for specific type of equip or something along that, to prevent piling shitload of equip in one big row where finding specific one, quest on it's own. Same as for managing your stock of hybrids. Also managing stable/fussion has same problem, maybe splitting by type or some kind of filtering can help it. Sure, it's complex game and managing things messy a bit, but that's more UI issue. Battle mechanics OK, breeding OK, quest's, yer generic quest random and it's... Ok. Adding specific quests for specific NPC's would be nice. Art is nice. So far it's promising. As for reducing party to 5, well, to be fair, most battles when you have strong party and know how to do things, end up in beating AI to pulp with almost zero sweat. It's fun first few battles but goes stale fast. Maybe some kind of temporal injury you can get in battle until you return to town can rectify this to extent. Still, game is 0.31 for today, so It's definitely have room to polish things.

I'll start tomorrow. Tbh so much work, I barely tested what works and what broke in my plugin.
Edit: Aksually, almost everything I hoped for is intact and current plugin should work without changes.
Biggest change: Unlike v30, v31 is now x64 app, so You need to run my plugin, instead of x86 version we used for all previous versions. After I'll do more through testing, I'll update OG post and notify here, but meanwhile You can run V1.0.8 with x64 BepInEx, it should work pretty well.

do give a look if you can find the script for the change in the active partysize at least, if you haven't deleted the 30.0 version you can compare both to see which script handles how many partymembers you have and you can possibly touch it to make it so that your mod allows people to play with 8 monstergirls because fun :KEK:

but everything goes back to normal if you disable it after the first time you get exp, you need to keep constantly turning it on and off.

you can alia supertrain though but it's just one thing i noticed.

I think it's on purpose
you do realize you could not go back to the overworld if you had a character that was bigger than the portal before, right? same as the winged help... they were patched in, else you would not be able to enter portals without a ground or need to remove your giant animal from the party...
syvaron can patch in teleporting big characters inside portals also having some sort of mermaids be a oxygen provider for deep water.
and while i am remembering things, stamina recovery still broken because of some silly reason, you can't camp and restore stamina, you can't restore stamina by eating the yellow fruit or resting with the mermaid event, either something broke or some minmaxxer complained to syvaron that stamina should be a valuable resource and only be rechargeable with potions and in the overworld which is par for the course considering the changes past 0.20 :FacePalm:

I can't work on new features yet, because of time constraints, but at least I can recompile the plugin. It fixed already existing features, at least I were unable to reproduce EXP glitch and it also fixed Brothel "Train Others": Download 1.0.8a

I think I like the new update.
I wish there was way to name or add notes to portals though. Also no way to get detailed info of characters via mouseover in that new character UI screen is kinda annoying but I really like the tasks system.

I can't work on new features yet, because of time constraints, but at least I can recompile the plugin. It fixed already existing features, at least I were unable to reproduce EXP glitch and it also fixed Brothel "Train Others": Download 1.0.8a

Huh funny, someone already made a big mod for this game but I didn't know and made my own... If you don't have time to work on it you could put the source on github for others to make PRs and keep it up to date.

Also if you didn't know, you can report your message with the 'other' report reason to get your post linked in the first post, just say you made a cheat or something and a moderator will do it if it's legit, that's what I did for my mods otherwise nobody sees they exist.

Can't say I abandoned the mod, it's more about me not playing the game currently and not adding much features because I do not have much ideas.
I'll make sure it will go on public GitHub if I'll plan to abandon it.

If you still wanna bring 5 allies with you for a fight, there is a way. while at home open the menu and go to "Import/Export" you will notice that u can add your 5th party member here, add them than exit menu, now u have 5 allies.

if any of you two desire more ideas outside a look at the partysize changing thing, a change to the overall timings like mining/foresting or even resting, as in the action that happens when you click yourself in the hexagonal map that gives no-stamina moves for 2 turns, not camping which is the R hotkey, they all have different timers.
movement timing change is fine, i believe AP might be global but you can find it with cheat engine by either scanning the values or looking at the mono dissect feature.
