She actually mentions it during the Peyton scene, in the first chapter she shows up in, she says she'd love to do a full transition but is worried the medical science isn't there yet for what she'd like to get, later advocating she'd very much prefer if she was, like, in some Star Trek Utopia of Tomorrow with a "gender switching" box where one could come in, change genders for the day, then go out, given how difficult (and in some nations both costly and dangerous) it is to transition medically IRL as is.
