This is what your noble dev wrote on January 1st:
"I predicted months ago that I'd be able to finish up in January, but from where I am now, there is a chance I'll need to push a little into February."
When someone gives you a deadline window the outer edge (and often beyond) of that window tends to be the more realistic date. It is highly likely it will be at least a week or more into February.
This is a huge chapter for the game's narrative and WWG highly values his written story. We all wanna see the renders, and he wants to nail the script, and everything will come together soon...
He wrote in the same January 1st Patreon post:
"In a previous update cycle, I had to pause Patreon billing for a month to rewrite the entire chapter because I wasn't happy with it."
Again: this is a huge chapter for his story, which he clearly gives a crap about. Do not be shocked if he pushes the release back to make sure he nails it.
And if I'm wrong, then everyone's in for a pleasant surprise.
