Good, I'm glad you don't immediately love and trust them. The characters barely know them, after all. Chapter 15 (Revelations) will provide more information (actually several fucktons of information, mostly lore), so you'll hopefully start to like them then.

Looks to me like you put the mod files in the wrong place. They go inside the game directory and you overwrite the ones that are already there.
