My wee mini review of this game.
Number 1 point.
This game handles cheating and the temptation and conflict leading up to it, better than any other game I have played. It is going to be hard for any developer to do a better job, this is basically the gold standard for anyone else.
The different story lines.
Love path is great, totally well written, lovely renders, nice depth and it has Lawan(I think that's her name). I like that minx more than any other in the game. Pool scene is amazing
Mei path is awesome, cheating with a cute girl on my honeymoon, what a bad guy I must be!
The jump back in time to medieval whatever it is. This is one element of the story that I feel just isn't working for me. I get that the dev is trying to get some real depth going but for me it distracts from the real story and is a drag on the main narrative, nothing wrong with the odd flashback now and then but this feels like a story within a story and might be better put into a separate mini prologue game. I am sure that there is important character and motivation info coming but maybe another way to to it?
Anyway, on to the second side story -sisters, mother. I liked this in terms of building up the family story, but the lack of choices was annoying , I want to have a hand in their corruption not just be a viewer. For example, I wanted them to stay longer in the bar, but overall it is working reasonably well and the park scene was great, gotta water those plants!
One HUGE, massively large grumble, bit of a spoiler so I wont refer to it directly. The mc has a choice with Mei, and doesnt take it it. Come on now, surely that was the players choice. Yes it is a lousy thing to do, and yes it is wrong. And I wanted to be the one with it on my conscience
Minor grumbles aside, this game is beautifully written, has characters with depth, which are interesting as well as beautifully rendered. I have never felt so bad cheating on a girl in a game, and love every minute of doing it
