Even that's kinda dumb, he said that he will START working on 2k. So basically he's getting free money until the 2k an no work at all. He didn't even say he'll will work Full-time when 2k hits. It would be acceptable if very slow progress until the 2k and more frequent updates when 2k hits, so yes it's greedy.

It's fine if he recieve it.. Let's say for the 300 that he has, Work on the game maybe 24 hours a month? Seems reasonable to me. and it'll help grow the supporters with each update. which will help him slowly get to the 2k

Personally, I’m holding out for the possibility that he eventually deals with whatever is going on with him and comes back to this project in his own time.

True. If he wants the 2k he needs to grow the playerbase of the game, and a trickle of updates will very much help that. I have supported a game from a patreon that at first was at around 100 a month, now he's getting 1.6k. I want this game, but that "On Hold" is, at least for me a deterrent to people who want to try a new game. I usually skip games with On Hold or Abandoned tags. On some games it already takes months to update and an On Hold tag is pretty much abandoned for most games. I really hope this game comes back. Time will tell I guess.

The dev is mad or what? This game is more than one & half year old. And it's only 7 updates upto now, that too last two updates came very recently. And he wants to continue only if he get 2k dollars. Yes, this game is good in story, writing, animations but lot of games who has better content than his which are running from one year old with more than 10 updates, are failed to grab more than 1000 dollars but are continuing & delivering constant stuff to fans. But he expects to reach double amount than those devs.

I can understand if he is in loss or not able to pay bills for this game making. But, that doesn't mean he should give a unrealistic target for patreon supporters. It's far more from even approachable. He should instead abandoned it like many of devs did after their game becomes a failure cause.

Yes, it's nice he stopped patreon billing cycle. But, if he want to continue the game further, then he should give the realistic achievable target. Like 600-700 dollars or even 1000. But 2k is too much.

As far as ICSTOR concerned, he got those thousands of devs in the Developing stage. And that continued even in unofficial "on hold" period. And he didn't put any target for audience. People are doing that by their own will.

I'm sure if this game's dev hadn't given a target like this, he may atleast get some 1000 dollars atleast upto now if he requests & tell his money problems. Giving "Target" to supporters & saying that you will get update, only if you achieve this target is a huge turn off.

Now you're just making assumptions, that makes you dumb, not me. I never said he had to do this fulltime before knowing it can support him. Going from 300 a month to suddenly demanding 2k before doing any work is fucking greedy, whichever way you spin it.

He could just work on the game a few hours a week in his spare time, that's the very least he could do for 300$.

It's not greedy cuz of the paused $300. It's greedy cuz he wants 4x the amount that he's already have to even start working on it. I think he should work on the game proportionate of the support he's getting. He should unpause the patreon and for that almost 400. work on the game 30-40 hours a month. Cuz the 2k that he wants is impossible with the size of the playerbase of the game.

1) Most people aren't rich enough to support all the projects that are worth their money.
There are so many good games out now, even if you have a bit of money to spend on a rather obscure hobby like western porn VNs, you can't give to all. So of course, though it's sad, not all games will get the support they deserve, while some relatively horrible games and even worse devs earn way too much.

2) The idea that he can go and release no update and just wait for his patreon to reach 2k a months is ridiculous, whether he charges the current patrons or not. I even doubt the game will attract a significant number of new patrons at all, after maybe an initial raise from people who like the game enough they would pay a few bucks to see it continue.

So, he's made the terms even more onerous. 2500/month or the development won't restart AND now also if the game slips beneath 2500 at any point in the future development will cease again. Yeah, well that seemed pretty obvious already. But, the fact that he felt the need to say so explicitly means he's learned exactly nothing. He's so wrong headed in his approach it's laughable. Literally no one does this. Exposure is everything. With every passing day the game slips more and more into obscurity. Buried by the sheer number of new games and updates appearing.

He has got to be the dumbest creator i have ever seen. You don't just stop development and demand money to produce new updates especially when you are still a small game with limited fanbase. You build a fanbase over time and proper advertising like pretty much all other big games in here do. His post makes him like a jealous whining boy who crys because others get more money than him. The idiot thought he was gonna blackmail his patrons to either give him more money or actively promote the game for his lazy ass. Shame the graphics were damn good and the story pretty original and different.
