Would a nvidia GeForce 1030 run this or would the game bake my trusty old potato
I would rather be real and not patronizing. So I will say this: it is time to upgrade. Building your own PC isn't hard if budget is what is holding you back. If you're using a GeForce 1030 in the era of Nvidia's Ada Lovelace architecture (4090) you may as well buy any used computer and replace parts in it. Or not, because your specs are at a point where even "old" used computers will grant significant improvement.

Your computer specs are old to a point where operating system, drivers, and core library requirements to run games are going to hold you back from a vast amount of games. Now that devs are leaning into AI to compensate for inefficient graphics optimization, some games don't even run without a 4090 and that just came out. So you are in a particularly hard spot to be in. A new awesome GPU beyond 4090 may even be out by next year.

Thanks ik I need a upgrade but I got laid off and had to sell my orian Optima but luckily thing are turning around iv got a new tower and cooling system now I'm just buying piece by piece when I have the extra money so old faithful is holding on for now but Ik it will be the graveyard for it soon

I would like to ad to the previous fellow member's answer by saying, your machine is quite outdated and o need upgrades (I also say a used pc might be a good options, if you can find one), but the 4090 thing is a bit of a reach, let me explain a bit.

It is true that incompetent development and feature creep has driven hardware to seem insuficient (i.e. CP2077 with path tracing in 4K on a 14900k + 4090 runs at 45~60 fps depending on the area), but for the average consumer/player both raytracing and 4K are just luxuries for every now and then and sometimes even just buzzworrds to sell you into the idea that you need a 5k+ rig to even play, specially for any game that is not a walking sim, for this game you don't need to go too high on specs to be able to play just fine and you can even go lower than the dev's specs if you're willing to compromise on one or two settings just fine, so I'd say if budget is a concern, look for Alket's answer on the thread about Matto's pc and aim somewhere around that.

you might be able to "play" at the lowest possible settings...
you should be able to get around 60FPS stable at medium-high setings with FSR on at 1080p with a GTX 1070, anything less than that it's a gamble, consider that optimization passes will be done further down the line, after all stuff will be in place, but do not expect things to improve much on hardware that might not even have enough memory to load all textures...

it's hard to optimise especially if you're a single dev, plus Matey basically needs to finish the texturing and stuff on a map to start an optimisation pass. Unity has lovely built in tools that do most of the work for you, Unreal is less nice, plus it's in C++ so steeper learning curve. Mateydev has done an impressive amount of work in the systems he's added already, so clearly he's quite competent.

The heaviest performance load is always graphics, so stuff like LoD, not rendering stuff out of sight, making lighting more simplified, cutting down on vertexes in models etc is something that can only be done when the models are done. Ideally an artist would have made the models optimised already, but he's only one guy. Porn games artists don't have the best record when it comes to optimisation, but we'll just have to see.

From what i understand matto wants to launch the next build on steam (i guess as an early access game?) so he wants to have as much of the game as ready as he can before that, so my guess is that we wont see an update for a while

Alket, is the one on the right a special variant? I recall the underground caves are supposed to have dangerous monsters in them. I hope the loot is interesting down there in later builds. Maybe even a new weapon / tool option or 2.

Realistically, that's the time it takes for games to be developed and would be a totally understandable development cycle...

That's to avoid issues with both Patreon and distribution platforms, not Steam per se, that doesn't give a fuck anymore, but with Epic and certain regional bans.

MAtto's also in talks with an animator that he trusts to tackle the whole adult stuff, Matto will provide the assets, the animator will do animations and the system integration with the current framework, leveraging Matto's tools to keep the quality and style consistent. Hopefully lifting some wait from the single dev shoulder.
