Yeah, its kinetic novel alright with heavy inprint of not salvaging it into proper VN easilly.
BUT dude this kind of shit happens to most people first time. Its hard to watch you being that crushed by reality check but bullshiting you might do a lot more damage to your selfesteem later on. Specially if its true that you are really giving it that much work and worries about it.
Let me add my two cents of opinions:
First of all, you need to sit down and wrote the whole story you imagined it would follow till the end (if you havent done that by now). For the first game it doesnt have to be overly complicated but you sure need to put more proper thought on how it would enlist in someone else's mind. In my view all you need to do is complexity and changes of pace. It starts as REALLY naive and love at first sight thing. Go for more depth, alter some conversation.

Then ask yourself a few questions: Do I wanna do VN game? If i wanna do VN, how player will be interacting and what choices he will be able to make? How the choices will be affecting the scenes? (probably multiple paths, choices to romance or not, NPC's reactions to MC's choices - different outcomes of the scenes and how it will affect ending? Will some events be unavoidable? Can something done be taken as game over? )
Or do I wanna go for a kinetic novel? In that case keep going but at the same time choices should serve as visual treats to player. You wanna look/focused closely at her boobs, face, ass? Let player aim their attention on lewd instead of ilusion of playing and doing some one line choices that you would have to do anyway to progress to next image.
NEVER do a half thing, now I go for kinetic approach, mid game I offer game altering choices. That would be even worse IMHO and it would also misslead your attention from enveiling story as you invisioned.
Second of all, you can always remedy your errors. Its not all wrong you know. Sure there are some really wierd renders and conversational pieces but overall you got yourself quite unique looking gals. That's counts for sth, right? Added sounds? Check. Galery? Check. You even get an incest version for the community yourself.
YOU ARE ON A GOOD PATH to make it all worked out. Overall man, don't give UP just yet! Man up! Be inspired by even thinking someone has already played the game and have strong opinion about it, positive or negative!
I am more than willing to help you out on the writing part. Maybe just spice your vision with my suggestions (and/or actual lines of text and ideas of situations you might use in your game, if you would decide to accept my help)

To be clear this is a work in progress.
The mc is not going to jump right into it right away.
He's a little busy entertaining guests.
Little by little you willl start to see changes in the girls attititude towards the mc.
What I want to see is what will happen when the Aunt finally gets there.

You are making some great points there, but if he turn all the attention to Lily, it's like throwing the incest and harem tags of the window, and they usually attract a big crowd in these games.

He never had a relationship before. So love is something new to him.
Someone from his childhood comes and says she loves him. What would you do or say?
I think jeolousy will be the key point in this story just like in any other.
She wants him cause she wants him deal. Wether or not it leads to a Harem path,
it will be interesting to see what happens in future versions.

Yes. Its not certain and character are not in full play. But have you played it? Did you read some of the post here? Did you read dev posts? I have feeling he is certainly unhappy with negativity and lost in creative process.
Even in romance there are some fundamental rules you must obey for someone else believe in story you are telling. People have intentions, desires, flaws and are generally much more complex, even in love at first sight. Nevermind we are talking about rest of the cast that should in some degree add much more belief to the twists of the story.
It's ok for the main protagonists to be mad in love but if that applies with the same simplicity for the rest of NPC's as well, its flat and boring for audience.
I am paying real close attention to the genre. You see I have enough experience to kinda have rough epiphany where Mr. Axxx is going with it. I am not in much hurry as he is clearly not happy with the responses he is given here so I just don't wish him to quit - before we have chance to see his vision of the story. As you keep repeating, its early enough to make remedies or make breakings decisions. There goes my suggestions. It's nothing negative on my part, I am trying to be supportive and constructive. Peace...

Well, there is a harem tag so we know that there will be this option later on. I didn't comment on the game, but on RobZombi3's suggestions. That's why I said that focusing on one character will take away certain elements from the game.

Days can be long as dev seems fit. A lot can be said and viewed in just one scene. Multiple scenes at the same time occuring, putted in desired order. Some events might be placed in night sequence as a dream that can happen in a split of the second IRL. Flashes of MC imagination (some naughty daydreaming).
Even if it is paced faster, timeframe is still good in sense you can really make a smaller game, with fewer events and multiple most important choices that would result in different endings. There are plenty of VN's examples of just this...
Well if its all planned out already, I just hope dev really figured it out at a planning table and the project will be finished succesfuly.

I think the story has potential. I already like the characters, artwork and story.
I think people are just thinking the story will end soon but no.
There will be many versions before that. Like I said the story is just beginning.
Everyone is in a hurry to see the sex, the harem and whatever.
If you are patient enough Santa Claus wil make your wish come true kind of thing.
Just be patient and enjoy it cause it's about to get crowded in that house real soon.

I never said anything otherwise about potential or artwork. But again, if you actually read what I wrote and didn't nit-pick, you would realize that as well. Nevermind the fact that liking something is really subjective. Objectivity in numbers, read through the 9 pages of posts here and the dev's response. You keep saying "wait for it to progress, patience" and I keep refering to disheartened dev and his alarming post:

A few thoughts.
First, the only way to get better at something is by doing it. If this is your first go, maybe it's unrealistic to see this as a source of living. It's probably better suited for a side project until the game is up and running so you can pay your bills. It would honestly be a shame for you to give up this when you show promise--they game doesn't even really have sexual content in it yet.
Second, if you're in this (or really anything) because you want fans or to everyone people happy, you're doing yourself (and us) a huge disservice. What you should be doing is what makes YOU happy, because that's what people will react to. People want to see YOUR expression. That's what makes a game unique and interesting and worth supporting.
Last, haters going to hate. Stay positive and continue to try to make yourself better and you will do well. You don't need the approval of a bunch of pirates.
I would like to see more of the artwork . It's more engaging then the story.
The story will take time to develop but so what? Most people only look at the pictures.
The cover is what drove me to try this game. There is one person missing in that cover.
Next version I hope we'll get to see a glimpse of what the Aunt looks like.
And hopeflly many other future characters will join the Harem path....peace
