It looks like my point was not clear.

I don't want to start drama or anything, so I just want to clear things up:
I am not calling you an idiot, at the end of the day its your money. My concern with your previous post was when you are talking about how patreon works and how withdrawing funds is not really a good thing when talking about fek.
In some points you are right at its core Patreon is for the "pure" support of the content creators, but the problem arises when patreon is used as a storefront and when content creator starts to output less and less work (been fallowing this project for a while now still remember the initial dev streams). When that happens you have 2 groups of ppl ones that wait for that content and ones that don't care about content. Patreons that want the content in their eyes they waste their money.
What i think from what you just wrote is that you are sort of in the middle of these groups, you don't really care about content, but you still want to provide for others through support. The problem with this is that some ppl really need kick in the butt to understand, hey.. maybe I should focus and improve so that I can keep doing this... As I wrote in my previous posts there are good irl examples of that
Subbing to a person that keeps getting worse and worse is a bad thing not only for your wallet (which as i wrote you do you) but also for ppl that wait for content (and I would argue for fek himself). Fek will not get that kick in a butt if he doesn't see his patreons leave.
Again if that is what you want to do then it's fine, I wouldn't do it and I don't like it (that's why the post) but it's your money and your decision to make. And on top of that as I wrote I think that rack 2 became too popular so now fek gets his revenue from newbies that don't know his current workflow that well, so we are all screwed regardless...

I agree with your conclusion. Indeed, I forgot that some people are motivated by pressure. And the pay-wall can act as a reason to pay rather than a disincentive.

Actually, while there are no humans pre-made, it is possible to create a human as your character, generally by using the bull or horse as a template ( the others may work also, but I haven't tried them. Afterwards you can upload the character to Racknet, then take it as a favorite for your *cough* experiments. Hope this helps.

For I am one of them. I donated 10 USD to Fek for Rack 1 and another 15 USD for Rack 2.
I also donated to Fenoxo, contributed to FreeCities as well as many other projects. Lately I have been contributing to Perverted Education a lot. I did not really keep track, but over the past years and converted to USD, the total amount is probably way more than 5 k.

Full disclosure: I fell in love with Rack and by extension Rack 2 immediately when I uncovered them both.

Stating the obvious that this is a furry product here. And a niche product with a starved market = $ if you have even an iota of talent. And all of the projects and devs you've mentioned have some serious promise/talent behind them.

However, creative talent is separate from business sense or moral compass. And for 20.5k/mo, you can't tell me he isn't laughing at all his patrons while he drowns himself in hookers and blow. Guy can't even be bothered to post a monthly update (last was Nov).

I don't think you're an idiot for supporting him either, but I don't think talent alone, or desire for the finished product are enough reasons to support someone who barely acknowledges the people who support him.

That's not my argument for you to stop being his patron. More my argument for not being his patron when I otherwise would be. I can't justify that creating a half finished product to build up enough cred and then dropping in from time to time to say "I'm alive, thanks for your money!" really counts enough for me to want to sponsor him. But I guess the logic is that if people are willing to pay despite the lack of work, then it's money for the taking, right?

The last I checked this game is pretty much abandoned, last update to game was on Oct 20th or close to that (plus it broke more things than it fixed, and only one new thing added) and his last patreon post was on Nov 3, and he is not active on twitter.
I do not recommend supporting him on patreon for the moment, if anything, only pledge ($10) when he posts a new update for the game, and then unpledge when you have downloaded it. I personally love his work and what he does but, Fek is way too inconsistent and slow for me to recommend supporting consistently.

I am not "protecting laziness" or Fek himself. His project management is awful, Rack 2 suffers from feature creep so big he completely lost focus. From what I can tell, he genuinely thinks he can complete this game, but he is being delusional.

Instead, I am defending the supporters.
