The point in question is not about sex in general but rather the ramp-up time for certain relationships. In this case some of us argue for a slower build-up, as benefits most incest heavy titles. It makes it much more believable. Which brings us around to the ever present argument of AVNs being fantasies fulfilled an thusly not in dire need of a believable let alone realistic portrayal of human interaction. Which may be true for some cases but not for others – if anything it's just one side of the coin. And it's up to the developers to decide how they want to portray their story, their world, their characters,… Measuring a game's worth by the time it takes to lay with the first LI (or have inconsequential intercourse with a shallow side character) invalidates much of the work devs put into their games. It's akin to playing pen-and-paper RPGs solely for the experience points when in fact one should play for the experience.

Maybe she didn't want to intrude on MC's life. By all accounts up until her illness, her and the girl were doing ok for themselves. She had built a life for herself and saw MC had done the same for himself.
She did not know how MC felt or even if MC remembered her. After all the MC didn't bother looking for her either.

As I said, try looking at it from her perspective.
Put yourself in her shoes. Hope that the person you loved will provide for your kids or simply leave the kids on their own.

Personally I have seen mothers give their kids up for adoption because they feel they cannot provide for them and in the hope the kid will have a chance of a better future. I guess that's why I don't see it as a stretch.

A guy she has a crush on actually gets together with her and then - she is pregnant - he is in a coma - her parents kick her out cuz they are THOSE types of parents..... pulling through all of that and raising some non-dysfunctional young ladies only to then catch a terminal illness?!

She can be excused some hesitation or mishaps in trying to get her girls and their father in each others lives.

There was a period where her parents were still alive before they died. It wasn't instant. So there was overlap with the visitations by Gracie.

*...sighs even more heavily...* He's been in a coma for 10 years. It's been a while but IIRC it has never been revealed after how many years of being in coma he was moved. Considering the fact that they were already frittering away their money (contrary to all medical opinion) on a lost cause, a paternity test seems to be the least of their issues. It's not a stretch of the imagination to think that considering MC's unlikely survival they'd be grasping at straws to preserve any and all of his 'legacy'.

From Gracie's letter "I visited you every single day for nearly a year" that means she must have seen MC's parents in hospital. So they should figure out at some point she was preagnant, and their son was a father. After a few months preagnancy belly should be obvious, also why a unknown girl would visit their son all the time?

It is rather yes and slightly dark to begin with. my only issue with this so far (and this may be explained fully in later updates) is be default age of the girls, we have been up and alive and running a successful business for some years now, so why did Gracie not get in touch earlier? Allow us some time with her, help her and get to know the girls.

The letter (which is also pretty damn dark and depressing really) is rather ambigious and pretty much states (with dialogue from the girls) that Gracie has only recently passed. Gracie has had years to get in touch with us (she obviously knew where we were).

I have to admit the letter does throw a bit of a kink into the plot. However, after talking to his daughters we find that Gracie has only been dead for 2 weeks and Gracie's cancer treatment depleted their finances. Concerning why she didn't contact MC for 18 years only the shadow(dev) knows for sure.

Concerning game play I believe I read somewhere that we would be given the option to play as a sandbox or VN. I finished 1.2 looking for that option to appear but it didn't. Only thing I can think of that is that dev hasn't implemented it yet.

I would be quite surprised to have the same game featuring two such different approaches to gameplay at the same time with the option to select between them. Some games are kind of hybrid-ish but at the end of the day usually fall into one of the groups. And yes, you can tackle the same setting, even major storylines with both approaches, but within the same game I see a programmer's nightmare.

1. Dude doesnt have parents or they would have pulled the plug. You stay in long term coma because there is no one to agree to it. Hospitals aren't really big on keeping coma patients alive.

2. After the first year, you can more or less give up on waking up. Its no joke when a long term coma patient wakes up because it just doesn't happen.

3. Gracie had to move on with her own life. MC was dead to her. She didn't want to believe it, but he was. Even when he did wake up and move on with his own life and became successful Gracie wouldn't try and drag him down with her health and the girls.

4. While I know the girls suddenly appearing seems to be a plot hole in this, the girls are grown and capable of taking care of themselves as they had been while she is in her last years. The least she can do is get them to meet their father, and he to them.

That would be a bad move IMHO, since it would delay content even more.
