If you're just going to say your piece then bail, then I can't say I'm surprised.yee... i just found out that im banned from their discord server for saying that this game takes forever to update, and leaving.
Yeah. or ICSTOR 2.0Clarification:
80% progress after 14 weeks and was a normal pace!
...but after this:
15% and we reach 15 weeks this weekend
This is just wow and I hope badly it's not High Life 2.0
Eh, I lasted as long as I could but after the "it will definitely be out before next month" we got in September and now we are almost to November I decided I was done. That doesn't mean I am going to attack them personally or be unrelentingly vicious towards them about a porn game on a pirate website. I am just not going to continue to be optimistic about the future update release schedule...So, my semi annual Radiant thread check-in. Still nothing. Where are all the white knights mocking anyone who dared criticize the devs? Have the devs at least paused the Patreon payments?
Well it's officially been a month lol. Who's gonna call the ambulance? You must be registered to see the links
Q: Does this mean we'll have to wait another month for the update?
A: Nope! That's extremely unlikely. One of us would have to get hit by a bus or something for it to take that long. We're really close to being done, and will soon send out an "early" build to testers so we can speed through that stage/get this things in the hand of all of our patrons.
I just got ntred by a dildo... man fuck this game. I should sue the developer for hurting my feelings and killing my humongous diamond hard glass cutting earth shattering boner and ask for some of their profits from patreon for a compensationNo...because there would be cries of epic bursting river proportions from some around here who seem to even have issues with 'their girls' even using a fecking dildo..never mind fucking each other.
I am pretty most of their current patreons came from here, no one would know about this project if not for the demo launched here and the tons of good reviews it got. However, after late August this game has been a MESS as far communication goes, I am truly sad I ever supported this non-sense with praise and my hard earned money so we can get shat on after so long. I am going to keep an eye for this "update" that never comes and its stuck at 90-95% for months. After that, I'll probably add it to my long list of potential but forgotten stuff a la Love and Submission and Waifu Academy, check it the sub every once a year to see the ridiculousness it became. I do urge most people to do the same, maybe then we can get a serious project going on and not whatever this is.Eh, I lasted as long as I could but after the "it will definitely be out before next month" we got in September and now we are almost to November I decided I was done. So if November happens before Chapter 2... I shudder at the thought.RK Studios said:Because it was. Now we're about 99% there. It's normal for the last 5-10% to take a bit longer than the rest, as there's a lot more hurdles to overcome and more unexpected issues that can arise.
As for your question about why it took so long: Alorth wrote a good bit of dialogue about this in a Discord announcement where he explained that the first two months of this chapter's development he was sick (due to a health condition, overworking himself at his regular job, etc)... not to mention having a breakup with his long-time girlfriend.
In general, this chapter is a bit of an anomaly/took longer than future chapters will, and there's various reasons for that. One such reason, as I've explained in the past, is that we wanted to take our time with it and not set a deadline for ourselves so that we could make sure we're living up to the insane levels of hype and anticipation that came after people played the first one.
And because we took our time with it, we've both improved greatly: the writing has improved, Alorth's animations are several times better than they used to be, etc. So in a way, taking our time with it paid off greatly. Now, I acknowledge/understand that it's not ideal to wait a few months for a new chapter, but generally speaking future chapters wont won't take longer than 3 months. Also, as I mentioned in the OP: Ch2 will be here soon; in the month of October.
You guys have my word on that!
Tanks for the update Squark. Know you're a Patreon..still a load of excuses to me though (not that it's my business, I'm just generally commenting). And now it's apparently 100% coming THIS month *crosses fingers*

Last week, this was posted in reply to "Why is it taking so long when it was 95% more than a month ago?"

1. He/they was supposed to have quit their jobs months ago...
2. So he broke up with his gf...shit happens. Would he have taken 2 months off a real job to deal with that? No, he wouldn't.
3. Alorth does the animations..of which there isn't that many in the demo, can't see there being a lot in this update either...he managed to churn out TFTUV's animations easily enough.
So I do wonder exactly where the split in work is here...seems Damned does most of this game...so it seems the problem lies more with him than Alorth perhaps? It is the same speel they been churning out for months now though which their supporters just accept and take on the chin.
As you say...if it doesn't hit in the next 10 days...and is considerably more sizeable than the first demo release....
Unless they're underplaying how much content there is, which is unlikely, then every chapter is going to be about an hour and half to two hours. So, try not to get your expectations too high.As you say...if it doesn't hit in the next 10 days...and is considerably more sizeable than the first demo release....
There's something called the 80/20 rule; the last 20% of content will take you 80% of the time. I wouldn't extrapolate that to 95%, but it's certainly a thing in game development. It's the difference between making *content* and polishing up the game to make it as good as it can be. If you're here, it's likely the first version appealed to you; part of that is the 'quality', large parts of which boils down to attention to detail. But each time you raise the bar in one part of the game, you can feel that there's other parts that don't look quite as sleek as it should be, or which could be re-done better, or tweaked just a little. That's how you end up iterating over 'done' content again and again; devs are really our own worsts critics.Last 5% can be longer than other %... well, then it is not a real 5% LOL
Or maybe game development is a logarithmic time scale xD
I know Pareto´s Principle, I don´t think it would be apllyable on this case. There's something called the 80/20 rule; the last 20% of content will take you 80% of the time.
