If they meet their next goal, they'll get better hardware which is going to mean faster, better rendering and much more frequent updates.

Progress Update as of 22 MAY 2020:

As most of you well know, Alorth and I are the types who take our time so that we can provide high quality work. This ensures there are no glaring flaws or mistakes in the game's story, code, renders, etc. and just makes the game better overall. Because of this, as announced previously, we aren't quite sure as to an exact update schedule just yet.

With that said... I am pleased to announce that we are roughly 55% done with Chapter 2. Needed characters have been created, the second draft of the script has been written, the code has been outlined, and we are preparing to enter "grind mode" and start cranking out the required renders.

I will say that you can expect to wait another 20 days minimum for Ch2 of Radiant... but in the meantime we will be having all sorts of good fun and posting some nice rewards for your patience here on Patreon... not to mention the 4K monthly wallpaper coming this June!

I will also begin posting weekly preview renders once we've entered the next phase of the development cycle... though I do recommend avoiding these if you like to avoid any/all things "spoiler related." I would of course never post a direct spoiler... but there are definitely those who want to only see such content when playing the game itself.

And that's it for now guys... I wish I had more to give you... but what I can say is that Ch2 will be absolutely awesome and well worth the wait!

It's called unnecessary drama is the purpose of the son's mom. I just thought rolling my eyes thinking, why did she wait until your daughters show up at your house to arrive? Basically she's looking to make your life miserable.

Ah yes... unnecessary drama is the reason for this fully fleshed out character who plays a major role in our main character's personal growth & life... with a handmade skin texture, fully fleshed out and detailed backstory/profile; literally one of a handful of main female characters in this game exists solely for that:

Unnecessary drama.

Totally it.

And it totally would've made more sense for her to show up before the daughters arrive... aka that time period we don't see or experience in-game. That makes way more sense from a story/development standpoint.

2-3 months between updates would be a pretty solid pace. I know we're all really eager to see where the game goes next but I want everyone to take their time developing it and, hopefully, we will get the same amount of content (or more) each time.

You know a porn game about a special agent which focuses just on the sex scenes and ignores the action scenes (agent goes out and does some amazing, exciting action sequence but it is all off camera) would be fun. I'd prefer they skip the scenes on the shitter with a newspaper.

Eh, that's what they always say. But if you look at SirD's last update they've only done writing and coding. So they haven't even started renders yet. Getting better equipment won't speed up the process as promised if they keep taking their time "trying to make everything perfect."

This is the first game I've played of SirD and Alorth so I have to wait and see if they're milkers. But I've supported other devs before on Patreon and they just dragged on and delayed updates. This is why I'm not actually a fan of the Patreon system because devs are literally incentivized to update slow. why work faster to finish the project when you're getting paid anyway? People will keep giving money because they want to see what happens next and because of promises that updates will be faster with more money even when theyre not.

Lets use Radiant as an example, if patrons stay on the full year they're going to make $72000. If they're only updating every 3 months theyre getting about $18000 an update! imagine how much people at regular jobs have to actually work to make that much money. That better be a huge update. IMO 3 months is too long to take between updates especially when delays are due to trying to "make things perfect."

This is no disrepect to SirD or Alorth specifically, because the whole Patreon system is like this and theres lots of devs taking advantage. Still I'll wait until at least the next update before I decide whether to become a patron. Another month is a long time though

Which is why I'd actually LIKE to see them hit their next goal. I mean, once every two months is normal nowadays but only a handful of devs that can make it their full-time can pump out an update every month/month and a half.
$5K a month would make anybody happy, even if it is a team effort.* If they really need so much more than that to afford the equipment they need for more frequent updates then clearly their two 2080Ti RTX systems aren't enough. ONE of those is about €1300. (Actually, to be fair, a 1080Ti cost just as much due to Bitcoin miners)
I just hope they're not shooting for a Quadro RTX 8000. That's nearly €7000 for ONE.

*: I'm well aware SD is working on two games at the moment, which may be a cause of slow updates.
