Rance games are very rooted in traditional RPG mechanics and this being a remake of a game like 30 years ago it shows its roots. So saving at inns or in certain locations or when certain menus are available in most of the games though usually not as weird or strict like saving at an inn.

They are full games just separate downloads and not packed in the same executable. Same with how they released the english version of 5D and VI, you had to buy both together whether physically or digitally, but they were separate downloads and installs.
Quest has been done with TL for almost a year, they "left it" out of beta for months and the TL'er confirmed it was ready to be released 3 months ago. Mangagamer knows what the fan base wants, and they know when they give it to us the less attractive products won't be sold on the old promise "if you buy this you'll get more".

That is false. TL has been done but they needed to do programming and beta testing. The translator on twitter recently has stated there is still work to be done on Quest.

01 and 02 released. They are remakes of the first two Rance games. 02 was the first remake released for an Alicesoft anniversary release so it isn't as "grand" as 01. MangaGamer also released the updated version of 02 titled, 02 Kai which doubles the script and tweaks the gameplay a bit. The regular 02 is essentially just the old Rance II with new graphics but same script. As can be seen in the OP, technically 02 was already fan translated since the script matched the old Rance II, but we have not seen Rance 02 Kai before in English. Rance Quest MAGNUM is still technically being worked on by one person who needs to finish things up so likely will release a few months from now.

One of the best porn series I played. No kidding. I would even consider it better then a lot of serious games. Thank you very much!
It has less scale, seeing how the gameplay and story more about a group of rebels with dungeon crawling instead of ruling a country. But the story and the girls are just as good.

Rance 02 is pretty much the original Rance II from 1990 but new art and and UI. Its the same script and pretty barebones. 02 Kai doubles the script and pretty sure MangaGamer's release of Kai includes the slight gameplay tweaks from the other slight update patch kaikai.

Man, 01 is pretty grindy. Takes a good while to get money for gear, not including all the missable HCG if your not reading the walkthrough

Part of this is that not insiginificant chunks of the original Rance II and thus Rance 02... aren't actually canonical. Kai has a COUPLE things that Alicesoft changed their mind back on so it's not 100% canonical either, but Rance 02 is like 70% canonical and 02 Kai is like 95% canonical.
