Tried with applocale and without and I have Windows defender off as I use an antivirus.Have you tried running without applocale or checking windows defender to see if it quarantined the exe file?

Longshot but maybe you could launch the game with Textractor, this might allow you to sidestep AppLocale.Nope. Already came with a preinstalled copy.
After looking everywhere I finally got the game to work. It turns out my antivirus was quarantining the .exe so I excluded it and that fixed all the problems. Thanks for the help. You wouldn't by chance have upgraded from Win7 to Win10 with the tool offered on the Windows homepage from back when they let you upgrade for free?
Great to hear, enjoy the game! After looking everywhere I finally got the game to work. It turns out my antivirus was quarantining the .exe so I excluded it and that fixed all the problems. Thanks for the help.
can anyone give me a 100% gallery save file for rance 01?(the remake one)
Honestly, I wouldn't suggest 01 or 02 as the make or break if you are trying to get into the series. Even though they are remakes, they still have a lot of similar structure as the original titles from like 30 years ago even if the gameplay is tweaked and new art. I would only say play 01 or 02 first if you had planned to get into the entire series beforehand. Otherwise, I suggest maybe trying VI or Sengoku since they are essentially the foundation of the newer Rance games and where it really hits its stride. Though if your issue is purely gameplay related my only advice in the case of 01 and 02 and a few other games in the series is grinding really or finding some sort of exploit.Does anyone know of an easier way to play rance 01(remake), i dont know the series and so far it looks ok but not good enough from what i have seen to put in the kind of effort the game requires.
I dont want to see the CGs, i just want to enjoy the story not struggle through it.
Thank you for the advice but i think i will just leave the series for now and hope for xp cheats in the future, like i said i liked the story in the first one but grinding for days is not my idea of a good porn game experience, skipping to VI is going to probably have spoilers for the others and i'm guessing the same type of gameplay so it wont really solve the problem by skipping anyway.Honestly, I wouldn't suggest 01 or 02 as the make or break if you are trying to get into the series. I used cheat engine to give me a lot of golds, so I could enjoy the story without any problem. You could also change your lvl to unlock some scenes.Thank you for the advice but i think i will just leave the series for now and hope for xp cheats in the future, like i said i liked the story in the first one but grinding for days is not my idea of a good porn game experience, skipping to VI is going to probably have spoilers for the others and i'm guessing the same type of gameplay so it wont really solve the problem by skipping anyway.
VI is fine standalone since it is reintroducing ideas since it was the start of what fans call the, "new canon" which the remakes belong to since they replace their older versions. Though I usually suggest 5D before VI since 5D acts like an introduction chapter to VI and is only a few hours long, but can be harder for people trying to get into it. Sengoku does well not really referencing too much from the past so you can get into it with little worry. If we are technically talking about continuity and how to play the games, 01 and by extension 02 kai remakes add things from later games to tie into the new canon lore so in that case if you were worried about skipping or spoiling I would suggest playing through the old timeline instead or before going through the new timeline.Thank you for the advice but i think i will just leave the series for now and hope for xp cheats in the future, like i said i liked the story in the first one but grinding for days is not my idea of a good porn game experience, skipping to VI is going to probably have spoilers for the others and i'm guessing the same type of gameplay so it wont really solve the problem by skipping anyway.
Thanks thats exactly what i needed, i was able to add xp and save a week of grinding.I used cheat engine to give me a lot of golds, so I could enjoy the story without any problem. You could also change your lvl to unlock some scenes.
I was more worried about characters than story, if characters are in the new games that are also in the old then you know nothing will happen to them, the same if they are missing but its ok the cheat suggested by Erikyu works great.VI is fine standalone since it is reintroducing ideas since it was the start of what fans call the, "new canon" which the remakes belong to since they replace their older versions. In 01 and though not released yet in English the 03 remake they do add characters from later titles or who don't appear until later entries which is kind of a mixed bag in how they do it, but understandable since 01 came out between Quest(Rance VIII) and Rance IX while 03 came out between IX and X. Glad the cheat engine works, I remember suffering through Rance VI's progression system and was tired of the needless grinding and backtracking.I was more worried about characters than story, if characters are in the new games that are also in the old then you know nothing will happen to them, the same if they are missing but its ok the cheat suggested by Erikyu works great.
