Going with such claims right after calling people out for "being so fucking dramatic" is kinda hilarious, ngl.
(I get that you like like it, but it's a HS harem game, with all it entails in terms of visuals and writing. Not a Mona Lisa pregnant with Shakespeare's baby)
I fully understand why he removed the incest content, but it doesn't make it any less disappointing that it's gone now. I'm still going to play and enjoy the hell out of this update, but a little bit of what made this AVN special is gone now.

And how do we know they will get banned, I have seen far more games push the boundaries of incest, even some that don't use patches and not get banned.
People act like its an either or situation, some are sticking strong, and nothing is happening to them, everything is fine with many other devs that use this content.
And my problem will consistently come down to, when it was built up from the start, as Incest, when that is the core element of the game, when it is the intended story, then find a way to keep it, at all costs. Like I said some other devs get away with it, look at Chasing Sunsets, they full on pretty much admit it and even use bro and Sis during sex, yet they didn't get banned.
So yes, keep it, just continue to say the patch is unofficial, like many others. But for the dev to come back after so long and put out a piece of shit that ruins the whole core of the story, isn't it.
Dev should of just stayed gone. That is all I will say on that matter.

You've been around here long enough to see what happens to devs that keep incest in their games and stay on Patreon. You're smarter than that. (I hope.)
All it takes is someone vindictively reporting the game for Patreon to start sniffing around, if they haven't been already. Some devs aren't comfortable with the "unofficial patches" since Patreon has snuffed a few games out that tried that anyway, it's a gamble not all of them are willing to play.
You don't need me to explain Chasing Sunset's plot to you, I hope. First, it would be off topic. Second, if you played, you know why they get away with it.
I get you're super disappointed but this isn't some big shock and will continue to happen until the climate changes.

Damn the dev removed all the incest? That sucks but I can't really blame him especially now with all the censorship BS going on.
I love incest, personally. This game did a pretty fantastic job with the kink, as well. I play non-incest games, and thoroughly enjoy the good ones. My biggest complaint is that Gary did a piss-poor job of removing it. I haven't seen the new update content yet, because it took so long to get this update out that I can't remember enough of the plot to just jump right into the new update.
That's where the trouble lies for me. Since Gary did a very slapshod job of excising the incest content, by only removing the lines that were tied to the variable, the whole game leading up to the new update is now full of logical inconsistencies and broken references (many many lines referencing the incest/family story were not tied to the variable and thus left in), and as a result, it's very painful to play through the whole game again.
If Gary had done a proper job of removing all the incest content and references, having to replay from the start would have actually been an advantage. The game obviously still loses much without the filial relationships that were originally there, but it would have been tolerable without all the confusing back and forth that exists now. There is a lot to love about this game, but by gutting only roughly half of the incest content, the overall writing quality seems so much lower that it's a slog to get through it now.
Gary should have either left the incest intact, and tried his luck with Patreon, while also opening a SS page to hedge his bet, or done a more thorough job removing the incest content, so that the game doesn't feel so sloppily written. Honestly, there's still so many references to the original incest content in the game, that Patreon could absolutely still ban it if they were so inclined. They've banned games for less, and even ban based on actual fan-made patches existing without the dev's consent.
tldr: The bottom line is that Gary made the worst of 3 possible choices. He could have left incest intact, or removed it thoroughly enough that it would seem it was never meant to be there. Instead, he chose to half-ass it, and left the game in a shoddy state that upset the most people possible.

I will start this by saying that I don't know shit about coding so I don't know how hard it would be to implement something like this but if the dev is worried about getting his game banned from patreon. Instead of having an incest patch he could just have a patch that would let the player choose the relationships. That way the stuff he is posting on patreon doesn't break any rules and the patch itself wouldn't really breaking any rules because it's just a patch that lets players edit vatiables. But like I said I don't know ahit about coding so this might just be a dumb idea.

That's what I'm using as well. Could you please let me know what renpy plugin are you using? Maybe it's related to this. If this doesn't work maybe reinstalling everything from scratch is the only option
How has the incest been removed? Weere the characters rewritten to be landlady, roommate etc? Or were actual scenes removed?
Apparently they are all friends now. But the dialogue has not been fully rewritten, it hints at the relationships, but this will probably removed over time as well.
It is not just Landlady instead of Mom or Roommate instead of Sister, so you cannot really have a simple Patch which replaces it with the actual relationships.
Im indifferent to incest, if its really fits the story like in mbml - than great. Otherwise i dont really give a fuck.
But as a dev, i think longterm i would be kinda glad to get rid of this entitled whiny crowd which the incest harem fans are

Out of interest, who has this happened to?
My understanding is that so long as the incest patches etc aren't mentioned on patreon they don't really care. Just handle that shit off-site on discord or something.
I've followed a smut author who got their page shut down and re-opened it. Now patreon membership just verifies access to a discord server with all the content on it. nothing is hosted on patreon at all. It seems to be fine.
well if someone snitched about that , probably they have some automation reponse by default

Sorry for bringing up something unrelated to the game, but I’m really curious about this. If the original version of a game doesn’t contain anything related to incest, and some random person creates a patch for it, how could the developer be held responsible? Let’s make a simple patch for every game we don’t like and get them banned from Patreon. That wouldn’t make much sense. If a game’s Patreon page gets taken down, there has to be another reason, because there are countless games that have been using incest patches for years without any issues.
