Realistically speaking, if the all-powerful Dark Lord who has already conquered the world got sent back in time by fate, he should experience a major existential crisis because fate can just reverse time again and fuck over his whole life. Life itself would be meaningless, and a couple of random (from his POV) retries later he might even consider off-ing himself for good, except he can't because time can be reversed. It would be a nightmare worse than what Subaru's going through because there isn't even a clear condition.

Porn wise though who gives a shit let's go~

I mean he mentions that if he goes down the evil path again he might end in a similar way and besides he kind of already has a major existential crisis that drives him anyways, he's bored and unfulfilled in life.
He only even considers taking a more diplomatic path, because it might be more interesting.

We changed the intro a bit to be more clear about this, but the reason he went that far back in time is because the overlord himself enhanced the mages time spell, just because he thought it'd be interesting. I'm not the writer, but he resides in the discord if you'd like to discuss this in great detail.

It's more like the synopsis do not really reflect what actually happened in the game.

I was saying how pointless and despairing it would all be if the time loop happens against the returnee's will, and if the returnee remembers everything (to the point where he can't remember because his memories eventually hit max capacity and has to overwrite old memories to fill new ones), but I digress.

How is "I can fix every mistake I ever made" pointless despair inducing? It is literally a dream come true, so much so that it is a massive huge genre of power fantasy.

Allow me to take a slightly different approach than did mrTao (irony). What you are talking about is, in a very real way, "reincarnation". What Siddhartha, and the taoist masters, believed is a somewhat less linear version of exactly this condition. Did it seem, to you, like they were experiencing an existential crisis?

Further, all life is a form of "redo" - You will wake tomorrow, much the same way as you did today, and probably do the same tasks as you did yesterday and today. Each of us is in a sort of "Groundhog Day". The only difference in our reality, and that of the movie, is that our surroundings are not frozen in time. The only expression of your individual autonomy over "fate", is our ability to choose to think differently than we did previously.

I remember when I read some SCP files that there was an anomaly that couldn't be defeated by the SCP foundation . They made a plan to redo the time and send a message every time they were defeated until they got a solution on how to defeat this anomaly. The problem was, the anomaly was aware of this situation, so the anomaly sent his unborn child to the past to stop their plan until he was born again . I think one of his children became allied with the SCP Foundation.

The game starts with you, an old dark lord, having your mind sent back in time to your youth. You now get to redo your rise as a dark lord. will you retread the same path, or make changes to it based on your future knowledge?

Glad to hear you like it! As of now we don't have any ntr content planned, but in the future we might carefully try dipping our toes into that territory. It would always be completely optional though.

I'm happy you ask! The good route will actually be more focused on building actual bonds and relationships with your underlings and see our evil overlord turn into a half decent guy... That might do something evil every now and then, but old habits die hard.

Anyway, i love the "Being sent back in time and do stuff different this time" type of stories. It's like playing in New Game+ with a different approach this playthrough.
And it's 2DCG! I love 2DCG games since it's the artist's touch which makes it unique compared to 3DCG games. It's been a while since I've played one.
