I think you should change your patreon page name to your new game, then make blog or site where you share your other game like hareem villa creator, i think they dont have excuse to ban you because that patreon page is for that game and not for RIC just dont release it on your discord that link to your new game in patreon.

Hi all,

I'm not going to Quote anyone as there are a lot of them but I'll try and answer everyones questions / suggestions in this one post.
Remember, This is just my personal view after having gone through what many erotic game developers are going through right now.

Regarding Patreons crack down on projects such as mine :
What everyone needs to understand is that Patreon was perfectly fine with content such as mine for a long while, then all of a sudden they changed the rules, Why?

Considering patreon is making a massive amount of money from content such as mine don't you find it a little werid that they would just change the rules and... to put it bluntly " Piss off a massive amount of their customers ".

Let's face it, All of the developers making this kind of content could have just had their pages removed instantly after these changes but they haven't, Patreon is spending the time to reach out to every developer and notify them of the things that they need to change in order to continue operating on patreon.

Yes you could argue that this is for their own selfish reasons to just keep making money from us but looking at it that way they could have just not changed the rules at all and made even more money from developers such as myself.
By changing the rules and taking the actions that they have, They have also lost a lot of money.
Even with reaching out to developers and getting them to change massive parts of their projects.

Patreon is being pressured by other companies, the main one being Paypal.
If you look at PayPals TOS you'll see taking payment through their service for content such as mine is forbidden.
It's obvious that patreon had a choice to make, take the action that they have in order to continue using paypal as their main payment option (Around 82% of all transaction of patreon is through paypal) or loose it entirly and risk loosing the majoriy for their users.

Yes, They have gone about the situation the wrong way and could have done a much better job at explaining the situation but what's done is done.

You need to remember that patreon is still a new company, they're going to make mistakes and bad dessisons.
Yes you may not agree or like them but you have got to at least understand the reason behind them.

Regarding Patreon abusing their power :
Patreon can't dictate what people do outside of patreon.

You're wrong, You see it all over the world.
Let's take celebrites for example, If they do something that lowers their image in their personal life a company that has a deal with them can remove them from that deal so they're not assosiated with that said celebrity.
They can do this because they have full rights to.

The same goes with Patreon, if they have asked someone using their services to change something due to it affecting their "Image" and that person doesn't follow their request or tried to find a way around it they have full right to remove them from their platfrom.

Patreon has full right to remove anyone from their platform for anything.
(Even something as stupid as having too many latters in their name)
Because it's their company and they can choose who uses it.
They don't do this because lets face it, If they removed a user for having too many letters in their name it would be bad PR.

But in cases such as mine, they're already getting bad PR for having content such as mine on their site.
So they're asking me to change things or not to do certain things in order to continue using their platform.

This way the choice is down to me if I want to follow their request or be removed from their site.

The reason for this post :
It's easy to tell someone to do something or that they should fight against something that isn't right,
but you need to remember that these developers such as myself have given up their jobs and are doing this full time...
We can't risk loosing all of our only source of income just to fight against a battle that let's face it, we're most likley not going to win.

To best we can do is put our projects on pause or change them massivly for now in order to stay within patreon guidelines.

If/when a new platform opens up for us all to move onto, this is when we'll have our revenge because patreon is going to loose so much when this day happens.

That why you shuold change your patreon page name from boomatica to the personal resort space to make point that page is for supporting that game, because that game is not dummy for ric so it cant affect patreon image so they dont have reason to ban you and you said they ate fine with ric content so they will not bother if it not make their pr look bad, because your game that you want to get support on patreon is TPRS not boomatica who created game so you can make side project outside of patreon as long as you not link it to patreon or it discord
That what i think i hope you will think of it, because i really like this game and seing this game end like this is so sad

if you give up on the project all of your patrons decided to support you for, that's exactly how you will lose your source of income. Patreon doesn't want you to publicize the game in any place that is correlated to your patreon account and you used your discord channel as reward for your patrons. you just need to put the game in a place completely unrelated to patreon, all your patrons will easily find it and keep on supporting you. or you can give up on the game and see your patrons slowly abandoning you. so, you better dust off your resume, you might need it soon.

Patreon also doesn't want the game funded by money raised using their service, so just releasing it somewhere else is not enough. In theory, RIC could become unpaid hobby project done exclusively in free time, and Patreon money would be only for new project. It's really just a matter of perception. Patreon can't tell creators what their working hours should be and how much they can earn per hour, so e.g. splitting current hours in half, with one becoming better paid work time and the other for unpaid hobby would be technically correct. But it would have to be believable. So make absolutely clear that Patreon money is only for Patreon project and nothing else. No "wink wink, see the info elsewhere", no encouraging people "if you like RIC, go support my other project", basically no marketing for RIC whatsoever. But if you look at it from Patreon's perspective, it would be highly suspicious, even if it would be actually true. So it would still be huge risk.

Hello,
To get the first version of the new game TPSR it's here :
Well I use the term "game" loosely as of right now there is no actual gameplay just a intro and concept.
I'd personally wait until V0.2 which will have actual content and a lot of changes to the UI.

As for : " Research-Into-corruption "
I can't confirm or deny anything 100% due to a deal I made with Patreon.

But I can say that the "BoomaticaWithAMustashe" is now developing RIC 0.6.1 for the next 2 weeks and it'll be released on "the" discord on :

Discord Release : 12/2/2018 $10+ Patreon
Discord Release : 13/2/2018 All Patreons

Discord Release : 12/3/2018 $10+ Patreon
Discord Release : 13/3/2018 All Patreons

on the 14/2/2018 I'll be working on TPSR for 2 weeks and then releasing it.
Then the "BoomaticaWithAMustashe" will be developing RIC 0.6.2 for 2 weeks.
(Anyone noticing the very obvious pattern here ? *WinkWinkHushHush*)

What this means is that RIC 0.6.1 will be posted here on the 13/2/2018 or 14/2/2018.

Hope this clears some things up.
Your defiance is wise and well-placed :p

I wish this would happen soon, as Patreon is fucking up so many good games. However, the problem is going to be that, before this can happen, there will probably need to be something that replaces Paypal which doesn't restrict payments for adult content like Paypal does. Paypal is the source of the problems for these games, and switching from Patreon to another platform will likely only end up with developers facing the same problems on that new platform. Unfortunately, that is what I see taking a long time to happen, as said company would have to build up enough trust and reputation for people to feel that they can be trusted to keep their money/payment information without it being shared, misused, stolen, etc.

Paypal just plain needs to disappear. They are fucking up porn and they are fucking up e-cigarette sales with BS propaganda.

Man of the House got around it.
Released a non-incest version on Patreon then used lewdpatcher to host a "restore" patch.
Sadly, I think it's just a matter of time, patreon will eventually get to those projects again. (as proven by DMD)

@Boomatica, dude. Been a patron of yours for quite some time. I'll say two things:

1. Sad truth is - people don't support you personally (and that's OK). They support development of things they like. And they liked RIC. As soon as you stop developing the thing people like - some part of support disappear as well. For the next half a year your new game will most likely be nothing but promises and a few drops of content as you will try to figure out what exactly you are going to do with this project which sadly at the moment doesn't have even a bit of individuality. RIC had. But the new one is just some generic adult concept.

2. [personal opinion, please don't get offended] Since you've made it your full-time job, I fear you'll soon turn into a progress-stretching, update delaying, excuses inventing shadow of your old self - anything just to stretch your buck. But I'll be happy to be wrong with this.

Replied to that on the DmD thread, here is what Mr.Dots did, which is not exactly what people mean by "having it patched back in anonymously". Also recent cases gave insight that Patreon indeed knows about outside patches, but appears to be fine with it, as Patreon, and linked websites, would be clean.

Quote from Mr.Dots (which appeared on his patreon page as well)

"A HUGE BUG IN THE NEW CHAPTER (IMPORTANT!)
While I was coding the update, I came up with this huge bug that kept crashing my game. I couldn’t solve it in time for the update so I left it there in the code. This bug somehow involves a file called ch2.renpy. It is located inside the game folder. It came with the new Renpy platform, so I don’t know what it exactly does and I’m too afraid to delete it. I hope you don’t experience the same issues that I had. If you have any questions about this bug, please send me a PM.
Sorry about that!"

He actually circumvented it on his own page, because everyone that deleted that particular file restored the content.

Mr.Dots most likely went onto their list the first time they suspended pages, and then a second time when they found out about his self advertised "solution" on his own Patreon page to restore content. Thats a whole different story.

The problem with RiC is, as said by Boomatica, that there are far too many renders at this point, which he probably doesnt feel like redoing, as in this case its about a particular character instead of text.

Which still wouldnt be impossible, a patch, mod, or replacer in this case might be quite a lot bigger than regular text changers, but the future will tell if someone thinks its still worth it. I would say its worth it if your supporters want it, but who am I to judge.

Edit: damn it, messed up the multi-quotes.

This sucks. Too bad you can't make a separate discord for just RiC. Publically distance yourself from RiC for a few months, continue to develop it in secret, post the fully completed version somewhere using someone else's account, claim that someone else did it against your wishes. Who really knows who makes these games, man? Who's actually behind an account? For all you know, Boom could be anyone here.

There's no guarantee it won't happen, patreon already monitors advertised discords to stomp out rule infrigement.

Yep, but they actually said they would check linked sites and services. Especially those that are awarded for Patreon Tiers. And in this here thread there was mentioned that they are actually aware of patches that are dropped by people that interfere with content on Patreon. And with the anonymity that we, thankfully, have left, no one can really be blamed there.

Thats why people dont say for example that Bethesda is to blame and should stop making games, because they are modded to hell from other people. Nowadays you could modify every single media to involve any kind of unwanted content, be it pictures, videos, games, text, voice lines. It would be possible to eradicate every single content creator on Patreon then, pool up a few people that fake/edit/modify a few single pieces of work from every creator on Patreon. Thats why they dont go after it.

Now, could Patreon say out of a weird impulse that somehow creators are held liable for what others do with their work?
Yes they could, but they arent exactly in good standings with a lot of people, and that would be really, really far fetched. That would be exactly what they dont want, bad publicity.

Hello fellow RiC fans,

I see a lot of what if's here and I think it's in everbody's interest, I clear up some things.

@Boomatica had to drop all work on RiC to secure his position at Patreon and is now full time working
on TPSR (his new game). Hence the releases every 2 weeks, as we were accustomed to when RiC was his only project.

At first he tried to develop TPSR and RiC at the same time and release both once a month.
RiC would be released on Discord and to make it more 'safe', I would have posted as a front man.
Now that ship has sailed and RiC has been abandoned.

Or not?

Feeling very bad about how things have developed, I offered to actually look into RiC.
I got the complete project from Boomatica and bought RPGMakerMV.
Of the programming I'm sure to get it done, as I have decades of programming experience (although for office use) and getting the hang of a new tool is part of the job.
Rendering and animations are a complete other thing though. I'm tinkering with HHS to get nice shots but that is going slowly as I'm not only trying to learn something new, I also have to figure out what clothings, surroundings and other items were used for the screens in RiC.

Now this all being said, I hope to release a (small) update here on F95, for free (maybe within the next 2 weeks).
This will be without animation as that's on the next level and I would have to buy another tool to get those incorporated into RiC as well.
So I want to check if you enjoy my work on RiC and if I should continue to do so, because I'm doing this for free and in my spare time.
And when enough people want me to continue, I can't promise release dates.
All I can promise is that the requests from the highest tier patrons will be rewarded (as I asked Boomatica as what they were).

TL;DR
Boomatica stopped working on RiC, I'm trying to continue for free here on F95.
