I think this is very important for other devs. They're trying to close the loophole DOD, SS, and others are using with the patches (the lame excuse that because somebody else did it, I can't held responsible). That means it's only a matter of time before Patreon finds out about LewdPatcher (I believe they already know) and start closing those games down.
I actually spoke about this with the employee that gave me the heads up.
apparently this is okay.

They're only monitoring the Discord server that is assigned to that page.
They're looking at it like :
Discord is part of your bussniess and you're offering it to your clients through patreon.
Due to this you have to follow patreons TOS on the discord server you've got assigned to your page.

It's your responsability to monitor what is being posted on the discord server just like you're to monitor what is posted on your page by you or the users.

To use a very disturbing example :
A patreon of yours posts a link to some underage porn on your patreon page and you don't remove the link for some time. You're technically promoting it.

I hope patreon doesn't do that. It would be at least ironic a platform that says pro-author and in favor of the freedom of expression, start spying on creators until finding "controversial" content on pages that have nothing to do with Patreon or creator of content.

In my opinion, the problem is that the Discord channel was one of the rewards that Boomatica offered at Patreon, and the guys interpreted it as a way of trying to circumvent the Patreon's rules.

Booma, what if you take the Discord of the rewards and promote it out of Patreon? Did you ask about it for them?

like boomatica said, they don't plan to crack on lewd patcher, which makes sense since there is no proof of connection between the patch uploader and the creator, everything is done anonymously. Discord or a dev site is a completely different since they are owned by the same person that owns the patreon account, if there are links on patreon to the discord server or to a game website, they can crack on it

your patrons are supporting you for the game not for the discord channel, just put the game here for free, people will still support you and patreon won't be able to say anything since this site is in no way connected to patreon.

Boom, why can't you just remove the link between discord and patreon? That's the only thing binding you to patreon rules on discord...

Just have the discord link here and let word of mouth spread the fact it exists. Wont take long. And can't be linked to your account on patreon.

Not a good idea. The point isn't only that he is or isn't promoting, but rather that he is still associated with RiC. Patreon knows that RIC is his product and that any mention of RIC on their systems, whether Boom does anything with it or not, is going to be associated with Boom and thus he could very easily be given a permanent ban.

In other words, if someone mentions anything about RIC on any of his Patreon pages or on a Discord funded channel, he's going to get into a lot of trouble, even if he has NOTHING to do with RIC.

Bottom line, he has to cut all ties to RIC. No more "boomaticawithamustache" type thing.

I liked RIC and I hope some RPGMV developer can pick it up. It won't be the same though because I like Boom's writing. Maybe Boom can provide technical or writing assistance but all credit and for any new content must be attributed to the new developer. For me, the game was all about the three main characters; the Aunt, twins and everyone else were just "extras" to me. I think that if he finished RIC in 0.7 or 0.8, I would have been happy.

As for Boom, I think TPSR has real promise and if he has to give up RIC, I think he has a good project to forward with. The biggest problem I have with what he's created so far is the name. "The Personal Space Resort" is not all that catchy. I'd probably go with something like "Personal Ostentatious Resort maNagement", and we could use "PORN" as the acronym. ;-)

Patreon have no place dictating what boom can or cannot do. You're over stating their position. As long as it isn't directly connecting to their site it is none of their business.

As it stands right now people will still mention ric on his page and boom will have to delete those posts. No different than how it would be if he continues to dev ric on an un-linked discord.

the best solution still is changing the game and patching it back to normal, the problem is that it takes time, and look at the shitstorm that irredeemable just faced and is still facing. Good for him that at least he got a good recovery at the patrons side now that he released 2.0

because you are most likely using the Discord channel as a reward for donation of course they are going to associate it with development of your game, that is completely natural and if i was tasked with monitoring games i would also be monitoring your Discord, if you make it free and make no mention of it on your Patreon page then they will have no reason to even monitor it, because then you wont be selling it as a patreon perk, boom problem solved.

They could always unlink the discord from patreon, or just start another unlinked one where you can do RIC stuff. Patreon can't do shit that way, and if they're saying they can they're just attempting to scare you. They'd be over extending their reach at that point. Like others have said, as long as it doesn't link back to the patreon it'll be fine.

How do I access the anal sex scene with Chloe? I have already completed a sex education and sex with m&s at 11 pm. Nothing work..
Boom, if you upload the RIC here without mentioning in discord? Was that a problem?

Bro boom, don't be so hasty. Explore your options, ask questions to this Trust and Safety representative. Ask if un-linking your discord from your patreon page will be acceptable. Other devs are able to keep their page, there's no reason you shouldn't with some compromise.
You made it all the way to version 0.60, man. Don't let all this effort go to waste on a hasty decision. Talk to the guy.

Someone should probably tell this to other devs who have been suspended. I mean it's logical that patreon would continue monitoring your page and discord. This only confirms it. So even the discord option if it's linked to patreon is not an option especially if they simply pay whatever tier for the invite. Which seems like overkill but it's understandable. The next question is if they go after the website option. If that's the case Mr.Dots would be officially done with Patreon.

This is one of the saddest days in my life wtf man. And the fact that patreon is trying to find loopholes for discord and such makes everything much worse, I'm worried about other games being shut down because of that.
