No, I get it. Believe me, there is significance in that bit where Jensen says it would all be easier if he could have a harem.
Consider this - to write all the versions, all the choices for all the girls, we have to love each of them. We have to be able to present a valid, believable, deep reason for loving each of the main girls - despite always knowing that you'd only be able to choose one, and have to be platonic with the other 2. So to a very real extent we've been suffering this a lot, lot longer than any of you.
The trouble is, it is right for the story. Nothing else would be as genuine, as legit. Easy to write, sure. But if we wanted to do easy we could have done yet another game with a kid at school banging all the girls, his mom and his aunt. No, the gritty, tough story with that real feeling of genuine characters is what we wanted. This is the price for it.
Tough as it may be, I'm still feeling the price is worth it. But if you don't feel the characters, if you don't feel torn, then you have an easy choice. What makes the choice hard is that these characters are each strong and appealing in their own right. That's what we were going for, and is the payoff for how real they feel. If you doubt the reality, tell the girl you are interested in that you want her to accept you having a harem... See how real the kick in the balls feels
