For one thing, there won't be any guilt from Mia or the MC since they haven't done anything that can be seen as the MC betraying Sadie, but it could also act as a necessary catalyst to having Mia and the MC confront their feelings for each other. It creates this awkward situation where the MC might be quite stand-offish in showing affection to Sadie so as not to hurt Mia, and Mia may likely show signs of jealousy and heartache at seeing the two of them together.
