After playing STWA's games, I was looking for something more lighthearted. Ripples has been on the back burner for a while now, because big boobs just aren't my thing. That said, I should've played this game sooner. I had a great time.

Honey Select games are usually hit or miss, there are a few gems (e.g. Caribdis), and I'm counting Ripples amongst those now. The renders, animations and women all look stunning. And I'm a fan of hair and jiggle physics.
The story is (still) light-hearted, and there's plenty of erotic content. At the beginning of the game I adored Darci, but towards episode 5, I started to get tired of her shtick. In that regard, I'm happy she's becoming more of a partner, so we'll get to see her in action. Alissa is probably my favorite character right now, with Skylar in a close second. Alissa embodies the "Still water runs deep"-trope, which I'm a sucker for.

I haven't tried either of STWAdev's games. They're on my list, just haven't gotten around to them. If you think the mood is similar to Ripples, I might move them higher on the list then. :) Mentioning Caribdis, I've always felt the mood and some things I can't quite put my finger on (other than the graphics source) in Ripples is reminiscent of OIALT. Obviously Tiffany and Carla are pretty similar, but there's several other things too.
My opinion's a bit different on Darci. Her first couple scenes were fun, then I got tired of her, but now she's growing on me again. Alyssa's cute. Obviously, she's got weeb/gamer girl appeal, but I like the outgoing sister more.

Anyhow, if you're inclined, you could post your comment as a review too. More positive reviews surely would be good for Jestur's motivation, and letting other readers know about the quality of the game might help convince others try (and hopefully support the game). Unless you're one of those reviewers that are like "I fucking love this game, but I liked Baldur's Gate 3 more, so 3 stars." or "This is one of my favorite WEGs all-time! 4 stars. It would be 5, but I wanted to bang the Landlady and Roommate already! Quit Milking!" Those kind of reviews aren't very helpful, IMO.

I can't say that STWAdev's games are similar to Ripples in mood. They're quite a bit heavier. They both deal with trauma and getting past it, in that sense they're more like LoF, except less funny (subjectively).
Still, I rank them high on my list of AVN that are story before porn.

As for Darci, at the end of season 5, I started to like her more again as well. I suspect she was the shit-ninja, somehow. It's probably too obvious an observation to make to be true, though. I'm not sure if I missed certain scenes, but I don't remember encountering the outgoing sister a lot. A few times in school, once while walking home, and once at their house. Of course the horndog in me wants a ginger sandwich.

I remember really liking Once in a Lifetime, but I've been playing so many AVN that they're all getting a bit mixed in my brain. Some of them really stand out, like BaDIK, LoF, Eternum (due to its unique setting), Projekt: Passion, to name a few. I should play through it again and see if I'm noticing the same thing. Though, one thing that's true of Caribdis' games, is that they're packed with detail, and Ripples is as well. (Loved the scene in the background at the '50s-style restaurant, with the guy peeking under the girl's dress.)

Thanks for the suggestion! I've actually been considering it, but I tend to write longer and more in-depth reviews (I'm still mulling it over, I'm not sure how to start a treatise of how BG3 is actually a much better AVN.)
Kidding aside, one of the reasons I joined this site was for having a bit of a log of games and what I thought of them. Still figuring out how everything works though, but I'll probably review most games I play. :D

Sounds like you've seen all her scenes. There's not much with her, but I liked the rapport she had with MC during the walk home. Maybe she just reminds me of an old friend. Mmm, a ginger sandwich sounds... spicy! (pun intended;))

Yea and her retaliation made me laugh.

Yea, I hear ya. I usually write long reviews too, which somewhat hypocritically is why I haven't reviewed this one yet, myself. Depending on the size of the game, it can take me hours of replaying to find and note the game points I want to praise or critique, plus at least another 30 minutes to actually type, edit, and spell-check. But yea, the My Ratings section on your profile is a great way to keep track of your thoughts on games. I do it sometimes. Going back to some, I've even decided to change ones that were a little too scathing.

About figuring out how everything works, I'm sure you don't need advice, but one tip: It may seem quiet in this thread right now, but if kicking over anthills is your thing, the debate over putting tropical fruit on flatbread topped with tomato sauce and cheese burns just as hot here as anywhere on the internet.:devilish:

Yeah, I feel you. I find it easier to write reviews of steam games, because of its note 'app'. Though even there I usually only write down the stuff that bothers me. For spell-checking, I use 's Firefox plugin. Even the free version is more than adequate. My biggest issue is remembering characters and their names. More so when a game's characters have no defining features or personality. In that regard, Ripples does a good job. But yeah, an in-depth review can take a few hours regardless.

Well, I'm in Riley's camp on that topic, though I'm less inclined to kick anthills than she does. :D
I'm almost finished with my first playthrough of Matrix Hearts, I'll probably start a fire in its topic soon. :devilish:

This is a great tip, thank you! So far I've been watchlisting the first post of threads of games I'm interested in, but it seems it doesn't quite work as expected. I wanted to use it as a way to see when a first post gets updated (new game release). Doing the same through reviews is probably smarter.

heathen! Next you'll say Thin Mints are bad cookies!

I really like Riley in pretty much all ways so far, except matters of taste. She hasn't got any. She'd probably ask for a damned Pepsi.

She's a riot, and honestly, I agree mostly with her mantra that doing something extravagant is a good way to get over hangups. On the other hand, it can cause a lot of anxiety as well. :D

I spent too long looking for an answer and read one too many spoilers in this thread. So please, someone tell me this - when we meet Riley , the crazy kookie girl the first time, we have this little sex scene, and if we choose to dominate her, we get a "Deviant mode activated".

Is that just a funny quip or does it have some implications?
If it has implications, is it only applicable to Riley or does that affect other girls as well? Thanks if anyone answers!
