THEN AFTERCan we make some changes to this forum? Like, every 3rd person asking about Mystique, mac unzipping or some other bs, gets a dick card. If you get 3,your avatar is changed to a dick pic, and your nickname to "dick##"? Please?
2He is making more than 10K$, and updating the game once in a couple of months with barely any content. Are you really implying that this is completely normal?
3Even if we choose 1$ per month. The game has been out on Patreon for FIVE YEARS (holy crap, right?). Technically it means You could already spend 60 freaking bucks on it. 60$ on a simple flash game. Like, why would anyone do that?...
Milking expert? And then you could bring to attention that this game is already FIVE years on patreon. 1$ a month for 5 years is 60$. Sixty.fucking.bucks. for a flash game
You ask me "what is the point", and at the same time you drop a freaking wall of text, on an adult gaming forum. lol You really wanna talk about time wasting? You, the guy that keeps making photoshopped memes for this thread? xDWhat is the point, being on a pirate site, to think how much money the author makes. And tell others how they should spend their money. People who pay know what they are doing and are not dumber than those who advise not to pay.
Some have the opportunity to pay, while others do not. But why complain and raise this topic? In this thread, users get links for free.
The author does a pretty good job, given the specifics of the game and art. In addition, the author has established a permanent workflow that allows you to release a new version once every 4 months, of which up to 1 month is spent on fixing bugs. This process has been unchanged for several years.
Not many authors can boast such stability.
If you compare with other authors, you can find many examples where, with much higher revenue, releases are fewer, and the quality is also not always at the level.
Given that the game has copyrighted art, this is generally a separate category of games. There are authors who make the same art in the form of comics or just a pin-up, without any games. Issue 1-2 pages per week and have a much larger income.
This game was originally conceived with one character - Rogue. And when the author was already thinking of completing the game, it was the patrons who insisted on the continuation. Accordingly, when the "foundation" of the game was originally made for one character, it took a lot of work to create a workable version with the ability to add new characters.
Any game until it is completed will have bugs. And the more serious the changes, the more time it takes to debug bugs.
In the case of this game, the author does everything necessary so that each new version is stable. Again, not all authors do this. In many games with large payments, bugs are not always eliminated even in the final version.
Accordingly, the author makes the game while he has an incentive = he is paid for it.
If someone does not like the game, he may not play it. If someone cannot pay, let him not pay. But why tell others what they should do. If no one pays the author, the author will end the game. Therefore, on the contrary, you need to thank patrons that such a game exists.
The paradox of pirated sites. Pirates are called pirates because they take for free what others pay for. And at the same time, these same pirates urge not to pay. And if you don’t pay, what will the pirates take?

[Ren'Py] "a flash game"?
What does the information (on a pirate site) give how much is needed or not needed to pay the author?
If people pay 1$, then they are not able to independently calculate or decide what to do with their money? If say that for a year they spend 12$ and for 5 years 60$ it will open their eyes, because without this calculation they did not suspect what "gigantic" money they spend? (you also need to consider that most patrons, like the author himself, will never read this)
People came to the pirate site to get what they need for free, no matter how much the author makes money.
In addition, the work of the patreon is designed to work with different patrons. Any author has several types of patrons, which differ not only in the size of the contribution, but also in the frequency of payment.
Some patrons pay monthly, some only at the time of release, some once a year. Thus, the payment formula 1 * 12 * 5 = 60 does not apply to all patrons. Most people can afford $ 1 per month per game. Well, those who can’t afford it just need to come to terms with this fact.

In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: The police, who investigate crime, and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories. Is this the Court??
I just asked you, “in the wall of text” why you write the same thing for several years, every time you are surprised that the author makes the release for exactly 4 months and regularly write about the author’s incredible income of 1 dollar per month. You ask me "what is the point", and at the same time you drop a freaking wall of text, on an adult gaming forum. lol You really wanna talk about time wasting? Yeah.. He would start thinking about quitting. Great plan, dude! But you can always unsubscribe from his patreon. No wait. You would have to be subscribed first. Must be hard to enjoy pirated games. Let's come up with a better plan to ruin an honest man's livelihood. If his patreons would reduce, thath will give him something to think about and maybe start doing something. 500 page by the way, just saying
True dat - Variety is the spice of life after all: Be it in female crumpet to enjoy, be it in opinion, be it in shitposting.>the above<
Oh boy, I'm not sure where this notion stems from: for a whole bunch of people, game development is not just a passion, but also a job, either part time or full time - especially if you are on a subscription site like Patreon and ask for monetary compensation - and I reckon Oni isn't much different here: Patreon money from game development can range from a small bit of extra change to a sizeable income to actually rely upon and life off of. If the numbers of patreons were to reduce for whatever reason (not completely disappear, mind you), the first instinct would be to see where the issues lie, how to improve the situation and keep at it, to not lose valuable income to actually see something that is more akin to a pet project come to life (He probably needs to eat and live somewhere after all) not to go with a full scorched earth approach and willingly nuke the income out of spite towards a part of the community. Oni probably has more leeway in that matter given that he is also an Artist that does commision work and thus has multiple sources of income, but I sure as hell wouldn't just drop it because of some dwindling numbers.Yeah.. He would start thinking about quitting. Great plan, dude! But you can always unsubscribe from his patreon. No wait. You would have to be subscribed first. Must be hard to enjoy pirated games. Yet again, TLDRI just asked you, “in the wall of text” why you write the same thing for several years, every time you are surprised that the author makes the release for exactly 4 months and regularly write about the author’s incredible income of 1 dollar per month.
I wrote 1 time, you wrote several times. But you did not answer the questions.
I can answer yours. I do not want to spend my time on a pirated site, reading posts that are not related to the game and will not affect the work of author. My post is only half dedicated to you. In this topic there are several users who raised the same topic as you (about payments to the author). Accordingly, if you add up your posts and posts similar to yours, a decent number of posts will be typed. And their number will far exceed my "wall of text"
In addition, you yourself wrote that you are annoyed by the discussion of the work of archivers and other identical questions, and that is why I turned to you.
I am for the topic to be discussed only the game. And not who pays how much, how the computer works and other nonsense not related to the game. All that does not concern the game is spam, including your posts about 1 dollar, and my posts on this subject.
I made memes instead of a "wall of text" (as in this case) and, again, in response to several meaningless posts. (To express an opinion, you can write text in a post, or you can make a meme, where part of the text will replace the image)
Also, as I said earlier, I can remove all my memes from this topic and not do them in the future. And I already deleted some of the memes and messages (at least 40 of my posts) in order to remove spam.
And if I need to delete all my posts, then this will be rightly only if such posts are deleted others.
and now specially for you, a summary of the essence:
Why in the topic, to write the same thing not related to the game and aimed at those who are not in this topic? When this is written several times sometimes by the same user, for example, I have a desire to ask him once about the logic of such posts.
