Yeah, there's no way a gaming laptop can't handle SV system requirements. Maybe the data was corrupted during the download. You might have to redo it.

Surprised this has only been mentioned now. Supposedly some 70% of standing CGs aren't even used as someone previously mentioned. I'm about two or three rehab sessions in and none of them have had standing CGs at all.
EDIT: Actually bought this one, there weren't any updates or fixes so far.

Ah good to know bout you buying the game regarding updates n stuff. I am from a country where you cant access the steam store page for that one.

Two words: Developement Hell.
Sacrifice Villains was delayed two times before release. 2 month then 5 month, officially because of sheduling problems with some voice actresses. But, that doesn't have anything to do with the standing cg situation, right? Yep, if anything it gave the dev team more time to polish the game. But a polished jewel isn't what we got. If anything, the game bears marks of the polishing phase being cut short. Unused/unpruned standing cgs, unused backgrounds, and an unimplemented save function on Rehab screens (images of the buttons have been left in the files).
What could have caused this mess? Financial shortcoming most likely. Since the covid crisis Clockup hasn't been its usual self, output decreased, delayed games, cheap looking official pages for the latest games, etc ... Not a great situation overall, that must why they went to DMM to ask for financial partnership on SV. Looks like part of the deal was that DMM ended up with the translation rights in their hands, which they gave or sold to Shiravune instead using the usual Clockup to Mangagamer pipeline. And that's how we got the censorship fiasco.
Too soon lol. It happened barely only 24 years ago.
Joke aside, people will forget. Let them. The young doesn't have to bear the trauma of the old.

So, I'm curious: the missing standing portraits, are they flat-out non-existent, or is it actually a bug? Like, do the files and pictures actually exist? Hard to tell one way or another, so I'm just looking for clarification.

They exist, but only as unused game files; a player can't encounter the missing cg during a normal playtrough. I put all the standing cg files online 2 years ago, so anyone curious enough can take a look by himself. Be warned though, it's difficult to browse and parse because it's a giant pile of 7036 st_cgs full to the brim with variations. So big in fact that i had to makes 4 separate gallery for it:
I won't do all of them, but the main dividers are day/night, full body(no feet)/knee level/waist level frame(rare), blush/no blush, followed by the avalanche of facial expressions, poses, and costumes.
To me the most notable usused files are the ninja Misogi set
