Or some people got too vocal, and KG is attempting damage control via "See? We are working on it" in the same fashion random Patreon "game devs" throw out a bunch of pictures to make people believe the game is being worked on. Can never tell with KG.

Fair enough. According to SteamDB, that update with the english was probably made on the 15th.
and Kagura Games did release a tweet about SamVan on the 15th as well.

Funnily enough, this sudden spike of teasers happened right after Kagura asked people on their Twitter which of their games they were looking forward to the most and, sure enough, half of the replies were Samurai Vandalism, so you're probably right in the money
However...

Easy: just have the game require a patch to fix a game-breaking bug. Kagura has a fair share of those on their record.
To be fair, though, in my experience, once they do announce a release date - they stick to it. Props to them for that one. So, if they do pull a "oopsie" and delay it, I would not be on their case provided they include the new release date. Otherwise, if they go "sorry, postponed for an unknown period of time" - they will be getting flak for that.
Fingers still crossed about the patches.

Finally been waiting for this one for so long, really enjoyed Ideology, so hopefully this one is as good as that one. Probably going to wait a couple weeks still though in case there's a gamebreaking bug. Never know with KG releases
All we need is a hero to upload the Kagura version on the 26th

I'm curious for those that have played both, how does this one compare to Ideology in Friction? How does it stack up among OneOne1 games in general?

Well. Imagine if ideology in friction didn't just have Clacier and Annette as it's playable characters, but also a third one and they all had a crapload of scenes and content dedicated to each, including a pregnancy system
That's what SamVan tries to go for, and even though Mukuro is clearly the main-main character of the trio of Momo and Kinako, the other two still get a large enough set of scenes that would probably form an entirely gallery of their own if they were in a smaller HRPGs
There's a lot of content and scenes to go through, i would say it's biggest flaw comes with how underutilized the secondary characters are, they all have great designs but are lucky to have more than 2 scenes dedicated to them
So, although the 3 protagonist system isn't as robust as some shit like GTA V, there's still a lot of content for the main girls, and if you like them enough and don't mind the others not getting that many scenes in comparison, I would say it's still a good one t look forward to
...But i'm still pissed this lady didn't get more scenes
