FWIW while the scoring may have taken awhile it also seems like a cool part of the gameplay loop. So it doesn't feel like wasted time to me, at least.

It's fun following the progress on this one.
Yeah the scoring is a massive cog in the game, without it none of the additional progress and unlock features work correctly. Now we just need to refine it and look at adding in the quests like "take photos of three different species butts, each photo must be worth 80 points or more".

We might add something like they did in the new snap where good photos kinda glow a little in the small preview after they are taken.
I hate coming back to a quick post and finding it was terribly spelt. My bad.

Yeah at least some in-play feedback showing if a picture was of *some* quality would be good. Like a glow or maybe a tiered boarder?

We will see what we can do there. ideally though the player should learn the photo rules as they play. At least that is the goal.

I haven't played the most recent build, so I'm unsure how even the on-ship feedback works yet.
But upfront, i find arbitrary/hidden/uninformative values to be annoying. Im a min-maxer at heart.
Maybe once i play the new build ill throw some more feedback for you.

It's not really a minmax kinda game. Just by playing you'll get everything you want, no need to stress over every detail of the photos.

Definitely a lot better than those games that make you do something really difficult to get to some of the content. Difficulty spikes are rarely if ever fun. hell I'm stuck in Like A Dragon because of such a spike.

Hmm, i understand the want to make players learn the loop by themselves, but i also see the want of the players just wanting some instant-feedback if their photo was good, nothing is more annoying than thinking you made a good photo but the system says "nope, bad picture" without explaining what the issue is. had it in one of the demos i played, thought i had a good picture, but then on the results screen said pictures weren't even recognized. and i didn't know why.

i'm sure you guys find a solution to this, worst case scenario, some option is added whenever someone wants instant feedback or not.

This is exactly why are are agonizing over all the scoring details and rules. But to add to that point we will have hopefully in the full game some prerecorded dialogue lines from Professor Frida as to why the photo isn't that good. Like she will say "it's not really that clear, try focusing on the subject better" or "the subject isn't visible enough" etc.

It's also worth pointing out that these rules are just for individual photos outside of the context you took them. If for example the photo is for a quest about photographing butts as a standard photo it won't be great because of the rules we have, adding that photo to a quest now multiplies the score to being it closer to what it's intended score is.

This is what we wanna achieve.

It's also a porn game, so, to a degree players need to get to the horny and rewards faster. But I would like to add more content behind completion over say achievements.

That could be an incentive to 100% the game (or at least complete a majority of it) for, say, some extra lewds/CGs, animations, or something cheesy like dev notes. Plus, gives the player some reason to come back to the game, if any

You can run after someone until they trip just to take a bunch of photos of them while they are on the ground/getting up.
Feels kind of fucked up in a "bully" way.

There are many bugs that make it hard to play. but I do understand it's early alpha so I will wait until this game has matured to replay again.
