have you looked into prebuilts with 3090s? they seem to be the only way to get them somewhat cheaper
I did, actually, for the 3080 as well.
But either I was too late to grab the reasonably (more or less) priced systems, or that in my country their prices suck.
Since I have two extremely strong workstations (Ryzen 9 5950x based), any other workstation will basically be furniture.
So paying even a few hundred dollars more for a built workstation versus a lone card just doesn't worth it for me.
But Today I'm getting a card (a fracking 3060 at over a 1,000 bucks. Good Lord!). So I'll manage until the times change, or the money starts coming in sufficiently.

And I mean the regular 3060, not even the Ti version.
And to be fair, the 3060's 12 gigs of RAM are probably superior for my scenes to all the cards with the 8Gb RAM - and that includes all the new NVidia cards, up to the 3080's 10 gigs.

So I am going to replace my 32Gb Radeon Pro Duo card, that sneezes out my Maya HW renders in seconds, with a 12Gb 3060...

oh yeah, just remembered, evga has a wait list with reasonable prices for a 3090, they limit to 1 per household to make sure no one scalps them.
check it out if you want
cheapest i saw there was 1600 dollars for a 3090

sorry for the bad link but yeah, just go on evga and check their products, they give an email when a 3090 is available

1,600 is almost the MSRP for the Founders Edition. It's a good price.
I'll check it out.
Thanks!
