I had already ruled out LIL, but the suicide thing is enough to know that I was right. I've done well to not even start that game.
Well, I don't know... I was liking the game, but now I may wait to see how it ends before continuing it...
I don't plan on ending Sensei Overnight for a very, very long time. I've already said that mystery and fantasy are the two genres I want to lean into the most, so I wouldn't worry too much about horror. I just said that nothing is confirmed because, well, nothing is confirmed.
I didn't even start LIL. I liked the appearance of the characters, and at first the story sounded good. But I did read some of the thread and chose not to play it. Now that game is on my long list of ignored games (so I don't get bombarded with messages from games that don't interest me)

LiL with the horror is good. It's a very well done game. But you're right, this game won't have nearly as much horror as LiL.
I didn't play LiL out of horror. I read some things that I didn't like and decided that I wasn't going to play it. The same is very well done, but I will not verify it in the first person.
The truth is that every time someone tells me something about that game, I am aware that I have done well not to play it.
To each their own, but the writing and characters in LiL are fantastic. And the "horror" elements are more confusing, disturbing, or depressing than true horror. It deals a lot with mental illness and existential dread more than anything else.
This definition doesn't improve the expectations that I will play LiL. The characters may be fantastic, and the story be very well told, but the truth is that I'm not going to try it. Mental illness and existential dread are things that I prefer to leave out of porn games. That some elements of the game are confusing, disturbing and depressing doesn't help.
