I like Melanie!
It would be great if there is a relationship between MC and Melanie!
Melanie was one of the first characters I created for the game. She's actually based off of a character from the video game Deadly Premonition. I think I first made her, the Sheriff and a lot of the supporting characters a couple of years before the first launch of the game officially. I wasted a lot of time trying it in RPGMaker.
The main character changed a lot in that time. She was originally blond and Lou was originally her father and a super nice guy and, like her, a stranger to the town. I wanted to subvert how that particular character model always seems to be a sleaze ball but in the end I gave in and put him in his usual role. But I incorporated part of his original backstory into his current incarnation to make him somewhat sympathetic if you learn his story.
I do plan to have more interactions with Melanie and other characters. I had hoped to squeeze in interactions at the pub for 0.23 but it was such a huge update I didn't have time to do it if I wanted to get it out in a shorter period of time. That said, I am hoping to work her and/or the other deputy into the next update in a fairly important moment.
It would be great if there were good path! - Will it be possible?

It would be great if it would be possible for MCs to avoid relationships with men!
There are good paths though if you want to stay on them avoid corruption when you can. I should note that at your jobs you can refuse the advances of your various bosses and just keep your job as it is.
And you can avoid all relationships with men as far as I know. It might make some stuff harder and/or more expensive as you can't use sex as a way to avoid paying money and/or making people happy with you but it can be done. There are currently 4 available lesbian relationships in the game.
