Great update!

A minor administrative issue: On the Latest update page the game is still listed as having been updated 3 month ago and stuck on page 77, so people not checking this thread specifically may not have noticed the update. Not sure if that's something you can change, just thought I should mention it in case you weren't aware of it

I reported it as an update. I just have to wait for the site people to do what they do to mark it as updated.

It's always nice to see a twine game with their own renders/art. I was getting a bit jaded of all those HTML games with real porn and shit.

Right in the overview I say this:

Shadows Over Solomon Falls is an erotic game inspired by TV shows like Twin Peaks, Haven, Fringe and other horror mystery or sci-fi shows.

I mean it definitely has some homages, including characters with similar initials and one or two that are named partially after actors or characters. There are definitely some Easter eggs, particularly for Haven and Twin Peaks which are the two shows that I most drew inspiration from. I specifically went looking for a Twin Peaks font for the title image because I wanted to make that connection clear and a lot of people have noticed it.

That said, I don't know if I'd say it made the game "easy". I wanted to draw inspiration and pay homage without being either a parody or a direct rip-off. I like to think I succeeded though I suppose some people might disagree. There are a couple of scenes that are probably a bit too close to the originals but I just couildn't resist throwing them in. (The way you meet Eric Crocker is very close to how Audrey Parker meets Duke Crocker in Haven for example. And there is a scene in the latest update that is quite close to a very famous scene from Twin Peaks.)

For now it is. There is a definite tease about the potential for growing breasts and a lot of people hope that a vampiric transformation might happen eventually. Most likely, if I do these things they'll be parts of endings as opposed to things that happen during normal gameplay simply because it'd add considerably to my workload to have to take these things into account during normal gameplay. I did work quite hard. I love the Twine community (their Discord is amazing and super helpful!) though I do think Twine games are sort of looked down on in the community. This is one of several reasons my next game might be made in Ren'py if I manage to learn it. And yes, I said next game. No reboots are coming. And the next game won't be started until this one has finished. I've seen too many devs try to work on more than one game at a time and get burnt out or reboot their game and waste a year or more redoing work they already did in their new engine or whatever.

Persuasion is the main skill needed to do well. Athletics helps with the dancing for Lou side stuff.

No, the Mayor changes your outfit after a meeting with Joshua. Who knows, maybe he'll go back to the old one at some point.

There are more submissive than dominant opportunities for the protagonist but they do exist. For example, Amber is quite submissive and should you date her you get the chance to be more dominant with her. There are also other times you can at least act non-submissive that will raise your dominance score though a lot of these in week one boil down to forcefully telling people no.

Thank you! I was torn on revealing some of what I did but I felt it was time, especially as the game is about 30% done now. You can't keep stringing stuff along with no answers in my opinion. The biggest mysteries are still out there!
