Fascinating. I really can't see it, despite layering both images in GIMP and hiding and showing the webp layer while being zoomed in at two hundred percent. The details on the curtains however…

That being said, I feel most full scene renders are fine as they tend to have a lot of detail in the background for webp to happily sacrifice to the god of compression. And sacrifice it does, seeing as it's very near in size of what cwebp's defaults (which are shitty, at best) compress to. I honestly haven't looked at the character shapes used throughout the game. I'm going to pull the full version and will be getting back to you on that.
Thanks a ton, though personally I've just started playing with the normal version, I only balked a little because I clicked the mega link saw 30gigs and thought I haD to get a new SD card. But later I realized its only 10gig which is fine lol.

Oh, would you mind giving me your opinion on the quality of the other (attached) images in comparison to the original pngs, please? It's the output of which tries to compress to a perceived quality of roughly jpeg 85 by compressing with different quality settings, each time checking the SSIM value between in- and output.

Doing some pixel peeping on the attachments, the latest one looks like an in-between of the png and the earlier compressed webp. Looks closer to the PNG. The fine detail is preserved about 90%/10% loss while in the earlier webp the detail is blurred, I would say a 30% loss. Was the original PNG optimized at all with pngcrush and such?

Also want to say the writing and the routing in this game is fantastic. Actually feels like a proper novel instead of a garbage porno. Great job dev.

Much appreciated. The pngs seem to be fairly optimized, seeing as a non-brute reduce run of pngcrush will actually inflate the overall size… Going by pio's output mozjpeg seems the way to go as the results are not only smaller but probably also retained more detail (see thumbnails in my previous posts for pixel peeping part of the result):

A bunch of stuff from v0.13. It's gonna be available for my patrons at the end of the next week, and for everybody else around mid-August, maybe a bit earlier.

Since it's close to the release, I'm gonna share some information about it. The next act is gonna feel shorter than v0.12, even though they're roughly the same size: nine scenes (days), but since your storylines in the city, and in the slums are completely different, that's actually eighteen. Plus, starting with the sixth day you can actually move back to the city from the slums through various means, and every single one of them will provide unique events you won't find anywhere else. For example, Blake in the city is going to have a session with dr. Lowe during the seventh scene, and it's either with or without hypnosis. However, if Blake returned from the slums during the sixth scene, he's going to get an entirely different event. Come home later, and you're gonna skip it altogether. Since this update is heavily story-driven, it's a bit lighter on your route content, but each event counts, so there's some stuff to look forward to. But I tried to flesh out Quinn, Trish, and the slums folks, and hopefully you'll enjoy to see more of them.

The last demo of v0.13 is already available for my patrons, everyone else will get the full update on 11th–12th of August, I think.

Aside from almost 270k new words of dialogues (slightly more than in v0.12), ~750 pictures (more than 100 above v0.12), and ~250 sprites, you'll get fully remade v0.2, and v0.3 content, with some of the scenes rewritten completely, plus some remade, and extended content from v0.4.

For example, I remember people complaining that Kushari's first scene was too short. Well, there were objective reasons for that, but now I can finally make it longer, and show you the picture where she eats Blake's ass, which is clearly integral for the story.

I use joiplay to play the windows version on android and it works perfectly.
