@Kaffekop I just wanted to say that the game you are creating is great. Just finished my first playthrough of your released content so far, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll be looking to add myself as a backer on your Patreon. Keep up the great work!

Finally, I waited for a full transition to a new engine and I want to say the expectation was exactly worth it. I got great pleasure from the game. Graphics, plot, choice, everything is done perfectly.
@Kaffekop, Thank you for creating a great game and thanks for switching to the Ren'Py engine. I will wait for the continuation.

Hi there.
I didn't even remember that I had an account here, until a friend of mine found that my work had been posted within this forum. So I just had to take a peek and introduce myself as the creator of this work in progress.
Thank you for your kind words and I sincerely hope that I can live up to the expectations voiced by you.

Just to answer a few questions, off the top of my head:
I tried my hands on Ren'py, but my mind just couldn't wrap itself around it. Too much coding, and I'm not a coder, by any stretch of the term. Everything I currently do, is done without doing a single line of coding.

About the rehab thing, I know a little about alcoholics, as I was married to one for 16 years, and then ended up living with one more for another 8 years. Mary and Jocelyn didn't really reach the state of alcoholism. They "just" went out of their way to drown their sorrows - which is bad enough, don't get me wrong here.
I left the whole narcotics scene some 30 years ago and I haven't really kept myself up to date on the subject. But I guess, I could change Nathalies addiction to something with a little more umph, so to speak. Like... meth?

Thank you for finding my models "hot". I try my best to give each and everyone of them a personal touch. Mary for instance, was modelled/dialed in, after a girlfriend I had when I was 19. I toned down her tits a bit, because we all know, that things look a lot better using the nostalgic glasses.

About the assets used. Well, Daz only has so many and as I'm not a Zbrush, Blender, what-ever modeller, I have to make due with what I can afford and then make the best of it.

Anyways, I have to get going and work some more on the next update. You all have a good one.

Cheers - Kaffekop
I like what I see quite a bit, played it 4 times. And coke is bad enough for story. Thanks

@DryreL only pics for the moment, about it the dev says :
@Nowun
Animation may happen at some point, but I'm not going to be the one making them, so I'll have to have some serious cash to spend on said animations - which I don't have at this time.
I absolutely hate the "three-image cycle" thing, that pervades visual novels these days, and would not call it an animation even if you kicked me in the nuts! ;)
I have seen animations in one of the more prominent titles on this site, but I don't like them either, so I'm going to be looking for a professional animator at some point who is not troubled about doing porn animation - if I can find the cash for it.
You shouldn't skip that game just because it lacks animation. The story is rich and well written, the graphics are some of the best I've seen and there are a lot of characters (family, neighbours, coworkers etc.) with possible "action".
Don't know what your prefered games are but give it a try.

Is v. 0.04 the long-awaited update? Seems like it ended at the same spot as v. 0.04.2 that I downloaded on 5/9/2018? Am I confused or what? I really like this game, and have been anxiously waiting for months for the latest installment.:frown:

My bad, I read back a few pages and didn't realize this wasn't a story update but changing game engines.

Kaffekop has finally made it back to where the Unity version was V0.4 with the change to Ren'ply. ( had a lot of material to go back over) His next update will be new material, progressing the storylines.

Hi does the change of engine to renpy means that there will be no saved game and we have to replay all over again? If not then how to get the previous saves.

Correct. There is no facility for converting a Unity save to Ren'Py. I actually enjoyed thoroughly replaying the game and could almost swear there were scenes I missed. So, have fun.

I just found and played SotF. Very nice. Hope to see a large update soon.
Glad it went Renpy. I don't bother to download the other games. Especially RPGM. I can't stand those stupid maps and childish figures. Some have great stories and should be converted to renpy.
Thank you DV.

Ok if that's the case, i.e. you got new scenes which you missed earlier, then I would also love to replay again. Thanks for letting me know.

What's the advantage of switching from Unity to Ren'ply? Thanks.

@Mikey Mike
The advantages are on the consumer end. Unity is a difficult beast when it comes down to older and more outdated computers and after they stopped supporting anything related to WinXP and DX9 it had to be done.
You get an easier way of going through the story multiple times, as long as you don't delete the persistent data file or I don't change anything - there is a good chance that the latter will happen a few times during development.

On my end, it requires a different workflow and some serious patience when coding. My brain doesn't really bend the Ren'Py way, but I'm slowly getting the hang of the basics.

@Hoostevall
Yeah, I'm a Dane. Quite a few around here, in fact.

@envixer
Thanks for the offer, but I already have a proofreader. We're still figuring out the correct workflow when it comes to implementing the changes to the script, but we will get there.

Last but not least. Thank you all for the praise, and thank you for playing. Now go enjoy the weekend, like I'm going to.

Cheers - Kaffekop
