I wonder if there is a better strategy than giving all girls AoE. You can steamroll the game if you're lucky and get melee dmg in a line, ninja bomb and archer's arrow wave.

Before you go listening to Cressel there (thanks, Cressel), you could always join the discord server and get some tips. People love sharing strategies there and I'm sure you're just a few paradigm shifts away from gitting gud! It's a roguelike so you are meant to fail your way into learning the mechanics. Also there will be unlockables in future updates made to make the game easier. This is just a gameplay loop showcase, of course more things will be added later.

But if you want to cheat, I won't be mad... Just disappointed. I believe in you.
Don't get me wrong, I like the game, it could use some polishing and balancing but for a demo I think it has great potential. Skill wasn't much of an issue, more of the RNG and number balancing. Certain things like the heroine base stats being identical also drew away from it. Bugs in the map and menu dialogs would glitch at points. Game would softlock here and there mid animation. Again, it was a demo and a great showcase of where you can take this game so kudos on that.

After a while the gameplay got repetitive and was challenging for little reward. I could beat the slime boss but not the bomb tosser or the medusa duo and I just wanted to recollect on the content that I had unlocked through my dozens of playthroughs.

sooo.. I found certain values and froze them at certain points of the game in order to view certain interactions and scenes with or without certain costumes, for research purposes only. This could be remedied with a gallery of sorts that unlocks scenes/animations as you progress in game. A lot of effort on my part, I know.

If anything, I'm disappointed and mad because you made me believe in you

JK though I know you'll deliver

"Little" bug :
Nobody is moving. I don't really remember why, I think that was the turn of an enemy still moving because of a trap placed by the archer, dying on an other enemy. So the queue was bugged trying to move a dead character, idk. It's weird that enemies are moving before actions from previous turn are complete.

But still a good game !

My biggest gripes are that some abilities are way more versatile and, by extension, often more powerful than others (the warrior having a column-wide slash targetable anywhere that's cheaper than other skills AND allows her to effectively be ranged is a good example), so you're pretty heavily encouraged to just restart runs for an auto-win skill setup. This is good insofar as the gameplay loop is concerned, but without a gallery or any way to reliably manipulate scenes (getting a girl captured, farming the gold to free her in time, AND surviving the boss fight with two characters is way too much effort for a temporary reward) it feels incredibly tedious to have to spend 15-20 minutes just setting up what might give me a sexy alternate outfit, and even then I have to very carefully manipulate fights to get the sexy moments I'm looking for. All in all, there's an incredible amount of potential here, but the H-content shouldn't be such a slog to get to without some method of accessing it again more easily.

All of that having been said, a gallery/free-play mode where you can select obtained outfits and defeated enemies would solve this almost instantly, so I'm more than willing to wait.

Any word on when they're going to update next?
This is my first collaborative game project, so I don't really have any idea when it comes to a schedule or release dates, and I try to never announce any deadlines unless i know they're possible. We are very close to releasing an android version though, just doing some final bug fixing. I've already drawn a ton of new art for the next level after the release of the demo, but i still have a lot to do. I spend most of the free time i have on this project, so I guess just know that there's lots more on the way.
(also I do very frequent art streams on the Discord server if you want to check in on progress.)

Thanks for the question.

I like roguelikes but this gameplay loop is pretty terrible.

From the very start, it's all RNG based if you get good abilities to not get swarmed. My first two runs, I got decent abilities but the rest are just me getting swarmed.

I'm surprised by the high reviews. Art shouldn't be a deciding factor and being a roguelike doesn't excuse poorly executed game balance. The game design is also very unintuitive. Why am I hitting new areas in the middle of battle? Why is it automatically selecting options?

The design, art, and I haven't seen any animations yet, seem fine.
The balance is horrendous and takes away from every aspect of the game.

Honestly I also did have a hard time on it, the balance was off as expected of a demo, but there are a few strategies on the discord that mitigate this. I think difficulty will be tweaked along the way

Look, man, I don't even know how to respond to negativity like this. Please join our discord server to learn some strategies or something if you are this bad at the game. I promise most of this is just you being a beginner. There's also a beginner's guide linked on the front page of this forum. I am not just throwing mechanics in lazily and i wish you could see that like most people do. It isn't perfect, but I'm actually trying really hard here to make a great game. The game only feels this unbalanced because you don't know how to play. You're a noob, accept it and try to do better, don't take it out on me please. You're coming at this game from the wrong angle.

And in regards to your review, uhh, jeez louize, man.
How on earth is 30 sex images and 30 grope images in a single level a "low amount" of pornographic content?
Also you suggested "Player dies and keeps coins. " This is actually a feature in the game, there are special coins you get and keep from defeating bosses and mini bosses which you can buy new items and skills with.
Please thoroughly explore games before writing reviews in the future, your criticism ends up being very unhelpful and misleading if you don't.

If you're sitting there baffled by how many people love this game while you vehemently hate it, maybe try engaging with the game in a .

One hell of a game, excited to play this when the update drops. First roguelike I had fun with in a minute. The only issue I had were accidentally rebuying skills I already had. Easily in my top 10 list if I had to make one.

Game looks really good, love the artstyle! will there be an easy mode in the future? I'm not so hyped about an actual gameplay in my lewd games :p

Hey, I think the mechanics can be a bit confusing at first and this is what made the game seem so frustrating for you. Maybe this will help.

>From the very start, it's all RNG based if you get good abilities to not get swarmed.
Yea, picking good abilities is important. This is why you have a choice of 2 at the start for each heroine and there are quite a few good combos you can get from the very beginning. And some abilities are much more interesting than they seem. Tripwire for example can be used to make enemies smash into eachother for big damage. It takes a few runs, but finding out how the abilities interact on the battlefield is part of the fun.

>Why am I hitting new areas in the middle of battle?
I agree, this isnt communicated very well atm. How it works is that you battle continuously. As every round passes, you move 1 distance on the map for every heroine still active, so 3 at the start. The distance until you reach the next location is indicated on the left upper corner of the screen. You pick the location you want to go to on the map. Your heroines then automatically walk there during battle.

>Why is it automatically selecting options?
Like I said, you pic the direction you go in by clicking on the symbol slay the spire style and then the heroines go there with the movement happening during battle

Hope this helps!

Thank you! So obviously I’m making this game specifically for people who do want actual challenging gameplay in their lewd games. Making the game easy is not a priority at all right now. Perhaps I might add a training mode or something much later, but the porn is meant to be earned through strategy.
I appreciate you trying it out, but if you want an easy game, that’s just not my goal here at all.

Not defending this person you're replying to, but just calling people "noobs" as a deflection to criticism is kind of worrying. Whether people like or love a game isn't a reason to say "I don't need to change anything", and I only say this because I would hate to see a project with so much potential go the way of Yanderedev whose head got so far up their own ass they went from celebrated to universally mocked. I say this just as a friendly reminder to stay humble: you have a great start to a game here, but there are legitimate concerns about the difficulty insofar as actually getting lewd content: I shouldn't have to spend minutes resetting to get a good lineup of areas/nodes, then spend 15-20 minutes going through waves, then figure out a sequence of exact moves to, for example, get the ninja chick captured, have enough coinage to rebuy her, AND survive the miniboss with 2 characters. I get that you want it to be difficult, but difficulty shouldn't mean setting up the equivalent of a perfect StS run just to get a single girl in an alternate outfit; if outfits are selectable after being obtained, I retract this statement, but as it stands a dearth of the lewd elements are effectively locked behind a 20-30 minute play session just for a chance at the still images you want. That's not difficult or engaging, it's just a slog and a boner-killer.

Tl;dr don't get a fat head just because this is a great start to a game. People praising you (myself included) shouldn't be an excuse to hunker down and start telling people "ur just bad" as a response to criticism (a word that people too often argue over the definition of here).
