I went back and changed some of my choices, and still got railroaded into the result I didn't want. No need to insult to defend a game you enjoy.It's quite common in other game threads as well. People complaining about about things like that in a game with multiple routes and choices without having tried all of them.
I get why that would be frustrating to read for a Dev

And how exactly did I insult you?
Dev themselves said that there's 5 choices that matter for Evie and you need to choose 3 positive options on those 5 for it to happen, so if you want to avoid it, you need to choose 3 negative from those 5 at least.
So basically three of the five interactions with her you need to be indifferent towards her and not be considerate of her needs and wants.
