As it turns out, plot twist, I was an idiot all along : I didn't notice that i hit "remove all" on my electrochoc implants



Does it lasts though? If I raise a girls obedience/fear to 100/0 and then put her in my suite, won't that slowly drop down?
You can implant her with "Groundhog implant" to have her obedience an fear reset after each day, however the drawback is your slave's skill also get reset.
Or you can just leave her at the spa until there's a message "devote slave", then her obedience and fear will not drop
Personally I prefer the 2nd choice. :D :D

Changelog

Optimizations

My machine can now pretty easily hit 2000 population (up from 300). Your results may vary, but it should be a substantial improvement.

Increased citizen and tourist population maximums to 500 to account for the optimization.

The downside of this patch is that some clothes don't look as nice in the station view, but that seemed like an acceptable sacrifice.

Reduced texture sizes in less-critical areas, which should further decrease memory use.

Menial Slaves:

Continuing my tradition of stealing from Free Cities, you can now buy menial slaves from the slave markets screen. There are three types: Workers, Bioreactors, and Fuckdolls. The economy for them drifts over time, so buy low and sell high for optimum results.

The economic report now contains "news events," some of which will have an effect on the menial slave economy.

The Pillar:

The Pillar is a new section of the station that's mostly devoted to managing menial slaves. To build on it, just zoom into the center of the station and click on the wrenches to see your options.

It contains four distinct rooms:

Storage increases the menial cap, and is good for speculators.

The Hydroponic Facility provides income over time, and doesn't require menials to function

The Factory puts your menial workers to work, and provides income when staffed.

The Bioreactor houses your bioreactors while they work, and provides passive income when filled.

Planet Upgrades:

Added terraforming upgrades to planets (they're expensive, but you can change them to any of the standard types).

Added genetic engineering upgrades that will alter the physical properties of tribute slaves

Added text vignettes describing the immediate effects of upgrades.

Separated planet upgrades into "Policy", "Slaves", "Terraforming", and "Warfare"

Other Changes:

Economic report now properly clears at the end of the month

You can now rotate the camera on the station view by holding RMB

Fixed animation offsets on the outdoor set of the porn studio and the slave hangers in the suite

Fixed a bug that caused annoying noises on the galaxy map

Fixed a bug that stopped the post-conquest screen from showing on the galaxy map.

Fixed a bug that made you jump to the nearest star instead of conquering under certain conditions.

Changed since design:

I've been doing a lot of thinking about the nature and history of the universe as part of my preparation for the "dating sim" patch, and I don't think the original concept of the pillar made sense. There is functionally no "free working class" to house there, so it's now just for menial slaves. The reason for this will be expanded on more in the future.

A side effect of that is that the gloryhole has been removed from the pillar, and will be replaced by a similar structure in the brothel. Apartments have been replaced with slave storage, and shopping has been cut entirely.

As always, I appreciate the testing, and am happy that you're all enjoying the game :)

The 0.17 series is likely to be buggier than average because it makes significant changes to a lot of core systems. It looks like the optimizations in 0.17a broke childbirth, which will be resolved in 0.17b in a couple weeks.

I think the pillar system is a great idea, easily expandable at a later stage. For example it could be used for training soldiers, manufacturing weapons or creating creatures for conquest.
Those would simply be numbers then, and planetary conquest would be expanded, first you have to beat the enemy planets defenses with your fleet like your do currently and then your troops/monsters invade the planet, fight against the defenders and try to capture it.

Basically like it was in Master of Orion 1/2.

nevermind, tried out jdownloader 2 and it got rid of that stupid mega problem. i <3 those free programs.

Small Bugs:
- If you click buy all, you buy all menial slaves even if you don't have the money. So you can easily end up with some Millions in the negative.
- After reloading a save game the values of the menial workers were set to 500/1000/1500 and didn't move anymore.
When i played the day before they were floating like they should.
- Slaves assigned to arena deathfight are not shown as slaves, e.g. if you have 10 slaves and 4 arena slaves it says you have 10 slaves. In the slave overview you can find them though.

i found a graphic bug. if ya change ya slave's hair she will run around in ya station with all the hairstyles you tried out on her xD. looks really creepy.

Well for me those red eyes are back and camera angles are messing some times like go to the slave screen and only you can see slave is from waist down dismiss then come back and all is fine.

only thing what is bit annoying is that box where messages comes you can click through them
same is whit those settings, slave market etc buttons.

Any way you could make doors down the line to seperate areas? Perhaps a Slave only door so citizens aren't wandering into your office etc?

@Obsidian01 does the extreme content mod work in the newest version? dosnt seem to work for me but then again I use the Mac version soo not sure if its compatible there

So, question because I don't understand how this works. Arethe planets I conquered supposed to always give me old slaves when I demand from them or should I get obedience or fear high or low so they send me younger ones?

They even send slaves over 35 with the Carousel policy enabled.
