Milk was pretty good income, porn and arena were negligible as of a couple of versions ago for small numbers of slaves - if the arena is quadratic as the dev implied here recently it would overtake Diary/Brothel at some point. I haven't tested the recent versions.

I wonder if you could build a station purely on the bar (regular, not milk) and hotels, until you can afford a beginnings of a fleet and then make the rest of your money through piracy.
You wouldn't need slaves at all, because they don't work in the bar (for some reason) and your ships seem to be automated.
I guess you'd need researchers? And maybe receptionists?

How does one make slaves fuckdolls/workers/bioreactors? I feel like it should be very simple but I can't seem to find an option for it in the UI.

You buy those workers/bioreacters in bulk from the same menu where you select which slave auction to go to. They're not individuals, they're just bulk goods.
Honestly, I'm not even sure what they do. You can assign sections for them in the centre part for 50k, but I dunno what the result is.
Fuckdolls are the same way, but they staff a single piece of furniture in the brothel.
You can convert a slave in a fuckdoll/bioreactor/worker. Go to the slave profil and dismiss her.
Sounds like they bugged out, not sure what to do as I've never been able to get around that.
With the exception of fuckdolls, they are just extra passive income from what I understand. Fuckdolls serve an extra role, entertainment without using your trained slaves.
I've tried, my early games were no slave runs, then I went for only conquered slave runs, and now only faction leader slaves and the offspring I make them birth. It's doable, but a bit tedious compared to going for slaves. As for maintaining virginity, your best bet is to keep them assigned to your suite, that way their virginity will only be taken if you make the choice despite what the animation for the assignment looks like. There doesn't seem to be penetration involved canonically without player input as far as suite slaves and those slaves assigned as suite pets are essentially just eye candy. On that same note, StationmasterDev, the game could use a virginity restoration surgery.

I'm doing a no brothel run right now. It takes a bit of time but it's not hard to do. I have a decent sized motel, a fairly big bar, an arena but only for customers, nothing for slaves, and some living quarters for residents. Other than that, the girls I own are all gifts and such rather than from enslaving or purchasing them myself, I have the starts of a fairly large navy (About 80 drones, about 40 fighters, and about 20 bombers) and the girls not assigned as greeters or to my room are working in the lab doing research.
I think at this point, the biggest shortcoming of the game is no casino, . . . . seems that would fit the theme very well.

I just thought of something: maybe their Obedience/Fear levels are problematic (too little of the first, too much of the second)? It would be worth checking, maybe there cannot be fearful researchers. Or their Intelligence levels are too low for them to be effective? (I only send 100 Intelligence slaves to do research).
Another lead: have you (alex7sea) checked the Economic report to make sure your research slots are actually assigned? I guess you have, but better be sure the game has really registered your assigning the slaves to research.
Well, it means 270 slaves not working for the long time it takes to get them to an acceptable Intelligence level (in addition to having to create that many school seats), but I fear I may have to do just that.
Pretty much, yeah. Honestly, I'm surprised you're not running into issues with having that many slaves in the first place. I've seen comments that mention performance dropping at well below that number of slaves. I personally only keep a handful for that reason, just the faction leaders and the daughters I make them have, which will take over as a proxy for each faction home world. Not that I've been able to play for a little bit now thanks to Tyrant bugging out when I conquered her territory. I just don't want to deal with the annoyance of constantly being attacked by a faction that holds no planets or stations and therefore can't be stopped.
StationmasterDev I've been looking into this issue with Tyrant still being able to attack even though she has no territory any way I can since I don't have a way to take apart the files and put them in an IDE on hand. I have reason to believe this was caused by the addition of the ability to buy systems. One theory is that I used a combination of buying and conquering and that somehow bugged it out. If this is caused by the combination of the two, not combining the two will solve the issue. If not, my other possible theory is it is caused by buying at all, in which case the buying feature itself has a bug. I also have reason to believe this will affect any faction and that Tyrant and Black Star are not alone in this.

I'm completely swamped by the new animation engine for the moment (This is seriously a lot more work than I thought. No wonder Illusion is... like... an actual studio). I'll still try to get to the bugs around planet purchasing, and several dialog issues have already been resolved on my development version (as well as the issue with overflowing money).

It's a research objective in the Neurology section (third one in the middle branch).
I won't say everything is smooth, but it works quite well. Probably because I have also limited the numbers of tourists (400) and citizens (80), even though, now that I am nearing the same number of slaves than citizens, I will probably try and increase the latter...
is this game finaly playble without any graphcal gliteches or it is still buggy and waste of time dl it ?
I bought a station in a neighbourhood system and it never showed up on my list of owned planets. Or is it not supposed to?
