You can perfectly play the game without any Portrait set Uploaded by others, in the games you spoke of the packs are mandatory to actually have a character show up.
You can play without images! What a revelation! Why would I do that again? Is repetitive text some kind of feature that doesn't bore me?
If you aren't paying attention to the differences in races and how their special abilities to optimice a certain action that's quiet the case.
Why would I care about optimizing? There is no need for any optimizing.
I can skip 100 days and get ten times more resources and progress for no effort on my part.
You want management Gameplay? try "Porn Empire" and come back once you have actually wittnessed what that is.
Now I know you are completely deluded. Not that I have anything against Porn Empire but it's far from the best in the genre.
Mainly new slaves and Items... but hey Gold is a minor resource in this game if you haven't noticed yet... completly irrelevant even in the long run (or atleast for now).
Everything is a "minor resource" because everything Has No Fucking Purpose.
Gear? The Market showers you with random items. Resources? You can break those items to get those resources.
What else is there? What else?
Right... you keep reminding me that you don't play the game for the optimization aspect... not gonna repeat myself this time though.
Optimize fucking "what"? There is nothing to "optimize" That's Precisely The Fucking Problem.
Just because YOU don't like the crafting mechanic for this game doesn't mean it's the ultimate trueth... which people try to keep telling you, but apparently that's impossible.
The Crafting System is there, but the game doesn't revolve around it, just like it doesn't revolve around Brothel Management, or Slave Training, or Breeding and Character Building, or Exploration.
Combat is the only thing you can argue for it but even that is rather rudimentary.
Will the Combat ever pose a challenge in the finished version? Based on the mechanics so far I doubt it.

I'm sure the silent majority of this thread appreciated your recommendations.
Good point: I didn't make any xD

To get the topic back on rails, how about we share our lists of "games you should try if you like this game"? Conquest won't come out tomorrow, and this coud serve as a good reference to Maverick. Better than our "wranglings", at least.

- Jack'o 9 tails Great slave trainer, a bit of combat, deep dark lore. Not for the faint of heart, by any means.
- Portals of Phereon Great managing game, among many other things it does (and does pretty well). Not for everyone, for its art and complexity.
Both have a STEEP learning curve, and game over lurks at every corner :devilish:
In comparison, Strive/Conquest is much easier to learn and gandle for the newcomer. The lore won't give an headache either. Slavery is even optional! (not that peons have it much better)

Isekai Brothel Road. Beautiful game, focusing on sex-battles and brothel management. It's still relevant in my opinion, because none of the aforementioned games try to make the sex appealing. Despite it being a core element in all three games, it doesn't get much more than a stern interface.

I'll also mention Bunny Black 1 and 2 for adventure/dungeoneering/party management. Interesting story, solid mechanics, many side events, yet simple to play. A vintage JRPG, often imitated yet seldom rivaled.

There's nothing wrong with Conquest intending to be a Jack of all trades. 'Master of none' is a title that can still be avoided, learning from good examples. Share yours! :giggle:

I'd throw in some Classics everyone should know about
Sengoku Rance (uncensored Version by Mangagamer) - Strategy with Management
Eushully Alchemy Meister God Captor and DLCs
Eushully Castle Meister and DLCs
Eushully Labyrinth Meister
All 3 Dungeoncrawler and Crafting
Much Simpler Management would be Mystwood Manor
Kingsmaker (in my Signature)
Lab Rats 2
VERY grindy but Black Garden offers great RPG and Crafting Systems

The combat is odd, I access the cheat options and turn on skip combat, then after there isn't much fun to be had with doing that I turn the skip combat off and now the game still treat the combat to be skipped automatically it doesn't revert back to allow me to do manual combat at all.

i fucked up somewhere i downloaded the art pack from this post but it wont let me select the bodies
If you installed them correctly you should be able to choose the ones you want for each npc.
I don't have the game loaded up for now but if I do I will do a quick walkthrough on how to choose from a correctly installed art packs.
Maybe in about 3-4 weeks or so.

into the appdata for both games.
For Conquest:
C:\Users\(Your computer name)\AppData\
A lot of the art pack links are dead for both games on the web site but others on Discord have put together art packs into one big pack here:

This group of art packs has some dups but there are being removed over time.
(At the time of posting many dups have been removed 1 hour ago.)

Art Packs go into the appdata for both games.
For Conquest:
C:\Users\(Your computer name)\AppData\Roaming\Strive for Power 2
For Power:
C:\Users\(Your computer name)\AppData\Roaming\Strive

Both games require folders called "bodies" and "portraits".

Conquest modders are trying to include pregnant "bodies" when the girls get pregnant but don't know yet how far they are into getting a working mod.

Credit for the link goes to Zalzany
how do you install it though? it seems pretty tedious to go through all the subfolders and drag the pic into the appdata folder. why make a pack then?

You just move the complete folder and the game will show you everything in there and then choose what you want.
Since there are 1000's of pic's the game will take a long time to load all of them to show you and is why I said to go through and get only the ones you want.
No since in having a hundred photo's for each girl when you can only use a total of 30 during a game.

Where are the character pictures within the "game" located? (ex: Anastasia, Aire, Daisy) Heleviel specifically? or is there a png for Heleviel?

There is an image/portraits folder with the game that likely contains these images. Though they are wrapped up in some sort of archive *.import format of which I am unfamiliar. Not sure if an unpacker for this format exists as I haven't really checked. A simpler solution would probably be to screenshot them in game and use an editor to remove the rest of the image to create your own.

I guess i misunderstood the use of the pack. I though the game would automatically apply a random pic with appropriate tags to new slaves in the market, but I guess that's not what it does.

There is a mod available via the itch.io page that will assign a random portrait to your new slaves. But since this game is still in it's early alpha stage the mod may be unstable.
