That initial quest disadvantage goes away after I boost my stats though, and the combat focus lets me ramp up faster than a social focus. Here's the status of my base at day 10 where I started with cha and sex at 1.Quest rewards are tied to MC CHA. At CHA 5 you get +30% to all rewards, and it makes breaking in your slaves a lot easier (even without a social MC). That matters. More than you may realize. You're screwing yourself over the long run for stats you don't really need. Your MC should not be a jack-of-all-trades. Both a fighter and a mage. Focus on one or the other, not both. Then you'll have the points for CHA. Trust me on this, when I first started playing the sequel I did what you're doing. It doesn't work as well as focusing on one thing and doing that superbly. The most effective easy-to-play combo is a fighter MC and a mage first hire (as you get a free staff that is very good). Arguably the most effective combo of all is a social MC + mage 1st hire, but that requires knowing quite a few tricks of how the game works that are not obvious at first glance.
For a fighter a dragonkin is your best bet. For mages the best are fairies (if you don't mind squishy characters) or dark elves.

Daisy has spent most of her time upgrading the base so most of her xp came from those scrolls of knowledge:

These stat boosts are relatively easy. Magic wood is the main hurdle initially. Boosting anything above good starts getting expensive unless you do it with a class upgrade that gives a free point so I tend to save those to use AFTER I get my base stats to good or great first. So I'm still 1 point behind you on charisma at this point but I've mostly caught up there and I suspect I'm ahead for most other things. Your way works fine as well, but I think my way is a faster start.
Edit: Just noticed that I can actually boost both Charm and Sex to great with class upgrades and then still have 1 final upgrade to excellent via classes that are locked in the guild shops. Didn't notice the Geisha and Succubus/Incubus upgrades earlier.
