Unreal Engine Subverse [v0.9] [Studio Fow]

Okay, this is completely pointless, but let's do that again... I wouldn't say Subverse is the worst of the worst, of course. I like many things about this game and I DO want it to be a better game because it has a lot of potential and good sides... But fuck me sideways, there are A LOT of objectively really bad bits, like really really bad dumb ones, I don't even want to start to name them all over again. And the saddest part is that most of those bad things could've been avoided and/or fixed if SFOW would pull their heads out of their asses and listen to the actual feedback, not to white knights like mr Weeaboo or notorious VValen.
The dudes who try their best to defend this game by replying to almost EVERY post on this thread, what is your motivation? Even great games are not perfect and have their flaws, and it's fine if people point them out constructively. You guys sound like this game is a goddamn masterpiece of all time without any flaws, and whoever dare to critisise it are just blind heretics. Like really, what is your goal? To achieve what? If this game is so good, why you defend it so hard?
I do understand the importance of support and praise towards the devs you like if you want to motivate them to keep doing what they're doing, that's a good thing. But again, SFOW proved so many times they don't keep their promises, they obviously don't care about it, they don't care about what their audience and paying customers think, and sometimes they just openly act like assholes. Why support and defend such devs who behave like that? What's good in this? Seriously, that's beyond my comprehension...

M8 someone asked me to list my own critiques and I gave them. Sorry if that got buried amongst all the other crap. But that ain't white knight'ing or secretly paid or whatever adjective ya'll want to use to defend something you like. Also cheers for listing both my names, I guess that isn't clicking for people yet.

Fact is, if I wasn't conversing with those 'critiquing' the game, all you'd see is a bunch of negative nancy posts, posts asking for saves, and asking when the next one.

A rushed product with unfinished storylines. Like he's still adding stuff for some of the gals in the school and some of the main ladies don't have completed stories yet either.

Not that they're necessarily paid, someone ought to whip out that Carl Sagan quote about giving a charlatan power and never getting it back.

Judging by the average ratings the game is kinda meh at best and this thread is certainly not helping to promote it in any way.

Just quests? You could take all the story away from this game, remove the combat(especially the grid combat that never really changes) and it would be a better game. I'd be surprised if alternate outfits made it into the final version at this rate. What were the animators doing these past several months? Also, I don't know anyone who like "shmups" or even knows what that means.

And to help your definition needing, SHMUP is kind of a squished way to say 'shoot em' up' evocative of bullet hell shooters like Ikaruga or Gradius if you want to get retro about it.

They didn't break any promises IG but they did make a disappointing mess that's only good as a glorified scene viewer. Well I've said it numerous people in here or the game thread, but there are plans to change how the scenes get acquired, so hoping that changes folks thoughts on that.

As for the monsters, there were concepts to have them evolve (the reason why we have so much BIO resource from playing the game). Whether we still get it remains to be seen. You can see the concept art for them on the artist's artstation page.

Don't bother speaking reason. This guy is just on a second account, he used to go by VValen or something. Where they willingly spread their ass for devs being lazy or disparaging to their community. They spend all day, nearly every day doing this up and down this forum whenever one of their fav devs release a shit update or have a shit timeline. They have to scramble the jets and keyboard to bend into 5 different directions to justify it. I would say its trolling but after seeing it for months and months I don't think its an act. Because no matter how much of a point you have, no matter how much evidence you have that a dev is lying or not fulfilling their role, this donkey will still try and gaslight you into it being your fault for expecting the dev to produce their work in a positive manner. Even if your critic is but the smallest degree like the tiniest of critic, be prepared to get a facetious tongue in cheek response about how its your fault you feel that way and just accept blindly.

I feel like the devs really shot themselves in the foot with the devotion quest cinematics and other things related to the updates.
There is no point playing these new updates because you don't get to see the full cinematic and your progress is wiped anyway when the full game launches so playing the game before then is just a total waste of time. Completely killed the hype. And I'm someone who bought the game on Steam too.
