Porn games will never be mainstream because nudity in general is still considered taboo in large parts of the world, especially in many "civilized" countries.
Still, this is better than being completely shunned.

Better read the reviews first before all else, otherwise, you gonna regret buying it. Just sayin'.
The reviews from degenerates on this site, or reviews on steam? Quite a difference between the two... :ROFLMAO:

On steam you have people wanting to buy an adult GAME with lewd stuff... On here you have people that want PORN and regard the actual game stuff as a hassle for most parts..

A balance between both never hurts. But what do I know? I'm just a silly guy who doesn't even bother reading the reviews lmao.

Yeah, all those reviews on Steam that are postive surely leads people to believe they are going to regret buying it.

What's wrong with giving them buyer beware?

Its unclear how much content there is still missing or if they will add more because of steam sales or some potencial DLCs. So i dont worry about a lack of contect and who cares if sex scenes are broken if u move the camera? You are not supposed to move the camera in the game.

Seeing some of the people in the reviews complaining about how they stalled the game and how they had 2 years of development and roughly a 2 million dollar budget shows that they have no idea what they're talking about lol.

A large budget means nothing if your dev team isn't large enough (a couple of their dev diaries pretty much was addressing needing to hire more people since the original StudioFOW was always small) to match the scope of your project (which ballooned dramatically). Not to mention that majority of their dev time was... you know... 2020.

Am I disappointed in certain parts? Yes, more so that I managed to get two playthroughs soft locked via a broken quest than the lack of sex animations but it's Early Access. Also the lack of integration of sex into the actual story is questionable. However, I played both Dead Cells and Hades when they were early access (back when the Concierge was the Incomplete One and back when Elysium wasnt even reachable). They were nothing like the games they are now.

Basically, give it time. Literally only been out for 2 days and it's not even the entirety of the game lol.

This is only a couple of chapters deep (6 IIRC) but the game has largely been funded via Kickstarter so no need to rely on Steam sales. They're gonna rollout out content in succession like most other EA (think Dead Cells, Hades, Valhiem etc.).

No one here is buying, and if they download here and like what they see. No real harm in buying at that point if they like it enough to do so. Sorry if you ended up not liking the first release of the game after a long wait. I hope it lives up to your expectations someday since you spent on early access. For now I'm just going to enjoy the first steps on this games way to completion.

Don't say sorry to me. I'm just a silly guy who doesn't bother reading reviews. Why bother saying sorry to a silly guy who bought first day of release? It's my fault, not yours.

I admit I don't like it, but I'll follow their developer diaries for updates and what to expect in the future. Thankfully, I didn't join the backers on Kickstarter and didn't hype it up too much.

I got it for about ten bucks, but It's still money well-wasted. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

People buying into a hype is a people problem. Fallout 76? Cyberpunk? Anthem? We could build quite a large list here... And that is just for games.

I find the complaints about it being in development for years, and only having this much content, rather funny given thats pretty much most major porn games on the site.

I mean, look at Wild Life. Adeptus Steve has had a patreon for nearly 5 years, and has been making 30K+ a month, going up each month up to the 100K+ a month it is now, for 3 years, and Wild Life is still not even really a game yet. There is a small village you can go to and fuck some NPCs, but no VA, theres no sound effects for a lot of the stuff in the game, the sex animations are as stuff as a Skyrim mod, and there is like one tutorial quest. At this point Subverse has more actual "game" in it then Wild Life does. In less time to boot.

And the models/animations, while nowhere near Blender level quality, make most of these DAZ stock asset VN games look bad by comparison(not that thats difficult). And thats most of the non Japanese 3d games here.

Now I'm one of them (who bought the game full price) thanks to my own goddamn curiosity about this game. Well... you can't change the past and it stays like that. A lesson learned, the hard way.

The problem not the quantity of the content but the quality. Subverse is a porn game where the porn aspect is the weakest part. Sex scenes lack any context or interactivity, you don't have lewd dialogs or much interactions with girls. It's almost as game tries to be a Mass Effect instead of a porn game with porn being just a bonus in a separate mode. No amount of content will fix it unless they'll change their approach.

Yeah because running an ACTUAL game studio, and hire actual game devs to your team, cost nothing right? Soooo much money right? Fast forward a couple years with salaries, running costs etc, and you will find it's not that much at all. If you feel like digging ditches for buck a hour, I'm sure you will find a lot of work..

Heck, you can tag on Dating my Daughter and "Elana: champion of lust" to that list. I'm pretty sure the latter was in development before this site existed and had a new update out just last week. Lol

To complain about development taking a few years is laughable. It's all about how much content happens over that period of time that makes it bad or good.

Well, I bought it as well, but did so with open eyes, just as I do with any early access game I bought. You can't expect the full experience, it's just a taste. How the full game end up down the road is what matters.
