lol, just got done reading through it. My quick reaction -

* I'm happy that they were pleased with their sales volume, means they will be able to hire some more folks and that's a good thing.

* I'm not convinced the end-state of the romance stuff and Pandora is going to be for me, but as I stated before, I'm in a holding pattern, and I'll absolutely give it a fair look as they release updates.

* More onboard interactions are good, yay.

* Not surprised there wasn't really a time estimate on future releases. Disappointed in that, but I also expected it to be the case.

* On a positive note, I'll say this (and VV, you are welcome to take this to the team if you like as I'm sure I'm not alone, here) - I do believe they worked hard on this game, and I commend their efforts. I have never personally doubted their efforts.

* My area of complaint / concern is simply with the way game handles relationships, the Pandora system's entire lack of context, and the canonization of certain events in the story that I think should have been 'optional' instead of being shoe-horned in.

We'll see where things go from here. :) Keep us posted, VV, you clearly have connections to the staff, so by all means keep us informed as things develop.
Connections to the staff is a bit of a reach lol, I'm just on the discord where they happen to speak frequently, so its pretty easy to quote their words.

As for the time estimate, as I've said numerous times, FOW doesn't really like giving dates til they're sure (and I'm sure this delay on streemster is very much reinforcing that mindset in their heads).

On my own thoughts, I'm happy to see with Elaisha coming next for some chocolate-y goodness. Can't wait to hear the kind of dialogue an ex-pornstar will bring onboard.

Also that VR tease that uhh...sure sounds promising for that 'interactivity' so many people are itching for :p

lol, no. Not even. Try stripping the fetish goggles off. Blender is as good or bad as the rig is manipulated, and that goes for SFM as well. Neither is magic bullet. Speaking of rigs, Source's limit of four impulses per vertex is also hard

The fact you're even mentioning SMS/Drill isn't helping because once you know he's just using sped up tweening interpolation to make large movements, the "realism" wears right off and isn't even all that realistic (you schlick someone's clitoris that fast during the start of foreplay and she'll tear your eyes out, not moan in the throes of absolute ecstasy), never mind a couple of animation swipes are sourced from literal pedophile content for the SHOCK! CONTROVERSY! EDGE! You know kinda like FOW did to drum up all that noise. Furthermore, Rape isn't intenstity, it's just rape; nevermind the part where your premise is "super intense super intensity" but mean while the not SFM and totally UE4 with hyper generic lighting are also as you say

" very slow, basic, sex scenes, lacking any real intensity compared to something like FOW's SFM movies"

You're gonna have to pick one. Either FOW's animations in this game are not up to your standards as you posited them to be, or your standards are very dependent on what kind of argument you're trying to have.

Meanwhile back at the subject a hand, 22 bux for 14 second non branching "slow basic sex scene" animations is... dubious. At best. Which falls squarely in line with FOW's reputation, which they earned over a period of seven years with consistent behavior. Currently, that behavior doesn't seem to have changed very much despite the new youtube friendly marketing.
Not 100% sure what this was all about, but feel the need to address that last bit. You're paying for an entire game. Whether the initial 0.1 didn't please you in its sex scenes offered isn't really something to say 'see its not worth it'. You really have to wait for a finished product to make a proper judgement. If you buy in now, you're saying 'I'm getting in now, not just cuz its cheaper, but because I believe the end product is worth, and I want to voice my feedback to help aid in its development'. Cuz whether its on discord or on steam reviews and forums, its being read.

I always liked Elaisha's rendering and I remember some of the devs stating that she's on the submissive side, which I like, although not too crazy about the porn star past, lol. Are any of these girls going to be actual waifus, or all super sluts, lol. (I intend that somewhat rhetorical, as I do think some will be a bit more straight-laced like Celestina, or 'maybe' Fortune...?)

Also that VR tease that uhh...sure sounds promising for that 'interactivity' so many people are itching for
Maybe - I'm not into VR and don't have VR equipment, so it won't mean anything to me, but for those that do, I imagine it'll be a positive.

Opinions do not require factual things or final states, hence why they are opinions.

It's generally more conducive to civilized conversation to wait until such things are present, but they aren't required.

to whit:
because I believe the end product is worth
You were saying something about proper viewing and weighting of value?

Again, as above, you can't have your cake and eat it too; either you wait and pay extra for what you can get for free on r34 because you think or want FOW to succeed for completely nonfactual reasons, or you don't do those things because you have viewed FOW's history of "interesting takes" and "for the luls" (except entirely not) behavior.

I'm not advocating EITHER of those things. What I am advocating is there is a repeated and public pattern of behavior, and any value judgements should be made accordingly, and also made by and with viewing other products of similar vein and genre.

"One time FOW made my peepee hard" isn't really an objective value I'm going to be buying a >game< for, all subject matter and forum premise aside.

Anyone else just find this not fun? Their attempts at putting together a real story, and basically just slapping in porn dialog is horrendously tedious. There's also basically not middle game. Nothing to be the glue between the really boring VN scenes, and the gameplay. They just slam you awkwardly from one end to another. I was also hoping for some amount of camera control at the very least. The protagonist is awful. The writing is terrible, and the gameplay is about as basic as it gets. I guess I was hoping for too much. Just having sequences between the story dumps and the action, where you could explore the ship would be a godsend. Maybe a gallery with poses to cycle through the girls. Right now, I'm really glad I didn't drop the money on this. It doesn't even feel good for a porn game. So far, the only thing it has going for it is a variety of characters, and production value. Those both fall short when the entire system that their stuck into is so poorly implemented. Could this be refined and made more interesting and engaging? Sure. I don't have very high expectations though. At this point, I'd rather see others rip the models and do other things with them.

Glad to see they are taking feedback seriously.
What they have shown so far is precisely a foundation on which build the rest.
Curious to see how they will improve the Pandora System and the vr part.
Scared for people who will now complain about futa or if one cock is longer than another or if there are testicles or not
Guys, calm down with this fetish stuff and enjoy the game, there are more important complaints to address.
Glad to see that a way to integrate the scenes with the story might be there with the devotion quests. They say they will be on the level of those in Mass Effetc, we'll see.
More interaction on the ship, very good, at the moment it seems a bit bare, need to give more things to do.
Maybe a shower room could also be there, for, you know, doing stuff.
No ETA for now, well as long as they release a good product, I prefer that they don't rush it.
They are also thinking about mods, well this is the element that will open the Pandora's box (lol), since many things that we might not have in game, could come from modders.

Glad they say they’re listening but when you say stuff like “the end results of the devotion quests will make our movies look amateurish” you better back that up and that’s a big claim and people are gonna hold on to that and use it if it’s not

While StudioFOW might have gotten quite as lot of money for a kickstarter or an adult game project it's still worlds away from anything you'd call triple A.
StudioFow/Zovolt is actually around 10 million USD worth, I know: Still not AAA level but yeah.
They also announced their own crypto "FowCoin" recently.

Subverse is probably just a scam scheme to get their crypto rolling.

I don't really know anything about cryptocurrency, but do you really think a kickstarter was launched, and these folks worked their asses off to make a game like this...with several updates a month, trailers, interviews with the staff and VA's, all for a payment system they're making to help folks in counties that ban adult content to purchase said game...which is then a scam?

Based on the state of the game, yes.

They are selling the idea of a game, not an actual game. That they want to help people from countries with banned is their statement. They also said that Subverse will be the mass effect of adult games, what we got is a kinetic novel with two minigames and a cg gallery.

Do I want Subverse to succeed? Yes. Not just cuz I'm a longtime supporter, but because I want to see the bar raised for adult games, much in the same way the SFM animation scene was raised by Lara in Trouble and Kunoichi.

There are so many posts on here just deriding the game for not being enough when they've only given us not even like 10% of the game. The later chapters will be longer, the devotion quests will be even more. And there's about 500+ more backer planets to add to the game. They're taking feedback about Pandora and already showing some possibilities of what's to come with the VR tease.

I get that people have been massively massively disappointed with games not living up to their hype. Anthem, Colonial Marines, Cyberpunk, and the like. I've seen adult games in development here for years, and they're nowhere near as complex as Subverse, yet they barely trudge from 0.1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 and hang there forever (Hi Milfy City), yet these guys managed to give us a product in 2 years, and could very well be a complete title by its 3rd KS anniversary. Who else could have pulled this off, cuz I don't see any adult developer making anything like this. Not til now.

Nah, the game is done. The only way to lie and sell ideas on that scale is by having an army of dumbfucks around you. Most people realized that StudioFow/Zovolt Ltd won't be the ones bringing nsfw games to the next level.

No...everyone else had been calling it the mass effect of adult games, purely because of its theme. I'm sure if it was fantasy, there'd be articles calling it the final fantasy of adult games. We've been shown throughout its dev diaries what the game was gonna be and how it was gonna look. There were also 3 trailers up on its store page leading up to launch, including one on its launch day. If you didn't look into it, that's on you.

Also those two 'minigames' are two genres that numerous games have as their primary gameplay, so...why are you just regressing the likes of Final Fantasy Tactics and Ikaruga down to minigames?

Very much looking forward to share this with Poorly Aged Things someday :p it can go right next to this one from two years ago when the KS campaign went up

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, although I don't think the girls doing it with x things counts as NTR. Tag probably shouldn't be there, unless someone has heard that they plan to include NTR content?

It really shouldn't be, but enough folks cry wolf enough that its put there. I'm sure it'll get taken off eventually once the game's done, and folks realize "oh wait all the ladies are still definitely with the captain, no one got 'stolen' "

It's hard to tell from the update whether they got that a fair bit of the complaints were about the sex scenes in general not having any context at all. They talk about expanding the onboard interactions with the girls, but they don't mention tying that in with the sex. If they go all-in on interactivity for the scenes, maybe that will make up for the lack of context. Or maybe context is planned, but they don't want to talk about the details yet. The plans sound promising in general, at least.

Expanding the team means the initial sales were probably decent.
