150 for 20 posts per page folks that is150 pages in... I think you missed the party on that one
Yeah I was busy playing the game on release instead of complaining on this topic.150 pages in... I think you missed the party on that one
Except there is a 'mod' that removes monsters. It's called 'don't unlock the scenes in Pandora' there's even filter settings in the system. Are you guys still arguing about the NTR factor or not? It seems pointless to me now. Let me give you an example with Custom Maid 3D, where you can choose whether the maids are only your personal maids(Vanilla) or also work by fucking various clients(Cuck/NTR/call it what you like). It's just an additional feature. As always, don't unlock them and you're good. There won't necessarily be a lot of monster scenes, I think there will be a good balance, at least, that should imply both the 100,000 and 200,000 goals.
If it really bothers you that much, wait for a mod that removes monsters and replaces cap scenes, with all the complaints they'll make it for sure.
Yeah...but, you know, people will complain because there is also a filter for Xeno.Except there is a 'mod' that removes monsters. It's called 'don't unlock the scenes in Pandora' there's even filter settings in the system.
Or the fact that xeno stuff is talked about in the dialogue of the game (and the codex) even if you don't opt to see the stuff.Yeah...but, you know, people will complain because there is also a filter for Xeno.

I don't want to sound rude or whatever, why don't you tell them this? I think it's better to put this out there and actually give them some sort of considerations (or reconsiderations) about what will the future holds for them. Just sayin'. Put this in an e-mail or something. The real circular argument is this all goes back to subverse being a shit/10 game design.
If the player had agency we wouldn't be having this conversation. If the player could control what content happened this would be an actual game as marketed, not just a visual novel with delusions of grandeur.
It's technically a linear sandbox "collector" game... where no "waifu" or series of interactions is optional.
Their core design strips any player choice or agency out of having a rogues gallery of almost a dozensecondary attackscompanions. They'll be introduced sequentially same way every time.

She offers sex and you accept and your only option is to not watch the scene if youaren't into her because she fucks dogsyou don't feel comfortable with her sexual proclivities as a normie on steam. Her dialogue and the game decides you had sex because this is just a visual novel. This pattern extends to Killi who similarly offers sex and you accept with no player agency. Third-____ girl will be exactly the same in the same way. Total lack of agency topped off with zero relationsim-progressive dialogue interactions means you don't give a shit one way or another about any of them fucking you or monsters outside the base novelty of porn being on screen. Thanks game design.
They're fundamentally missing the point and replayability from a properly designed companion system. Y'know, like mass effect they claim as an inspiration.
The cinematics and all the le ebin joke dialogue and voice acting is a one and done affair. There is no replay value to subverse, not even the porn; an afterthought shuffled into the pandora interface where you get to tab off 50-75% of content from "crew" and "mantics" if you don't want to watch contextless scenes of randos fucking or technically not bestiality.
A proper design out of the pieces on the board would be using a quest structure parallel to the companion system and introduce the girls in batches. The game would still be a linear sandbox, but a proper one, where your companion materially changes the feel of a questchain (not just your alt attack) via VN segments/quest specific dialogue, rewarding you with earned sexscenes and sex content viewed by interacting with the character on your ship. None of this is groundbreaking stuff on the vedeogame or even Hgame scene, it's just how it's fucking done when you're attempting to manage scale of a large optional harem/companion based game.
They are so below the bar in what they marketed and implicitly promised by building into the hype about the mass effect of porngames it just boggles the damn mind.

Wish you really joined more or less a week ago... Thread's a warzone when it's about NTR content.why does this have a ntr tag? i thought this game doesnt have that.
"Do the literal opposite of every design decision in a ground up redevelepment with the money and time you don't have" would be a pretty short email.I don't want to sound rude or whatever, why don't you tell them this? Writing a long-ass paragraph like this without FOW noticing ain't gonna help, y'know?
This post alone already sums up your e-mail. You don't have to spend your time explaining here and start giving this out to them as a more in-depth... assessment, shall we say, regarding their development course of the game."Do the literal opposite of every design decision in a ground up redevelepment with the money and time you don't have" would be a pretty short email.
As it sits my review review goes over the even larger core failings that made this game DoA and unsalvagable from a technical level. It just has to be redone. Everything. Leaves you almost shellshocked the game saw the light of day in this state. Even their outsourced bigg biznezz coder guys screwed the pooch here with the decision to liverender literally everything in a midlevel PC requiring 17gig monstrosity version of what is basically a phonegame.
This thread and Subverse itself is a lesson to other devs and consumers.
Doubt FOW itself will learn from this or magically turn around a better product when people looking at the preproduction and kickstarter pitch itself knew this exact dumpsterfire was coming.
Listening to their own sycophants or even critics won't help. They needed a guy with the skill, vision, and autocratic final say of Gamedesign 2 years ago hammering out the actual game systems under the porn and fancy cinematics.
That didn't happen and here we are.
Though the fact they failed to execute even a rudementary relationsim is the only thing that is a true head scratcher. You'd expect this to be a basic bitch relationsim VN with optional monster sex padded by the prebought minigame combat. So much for the mass effect of Hgames.
But the sorry state of the games systems could all come down to money. Mainly not having any left after 2 years of devhell.

Remember the bottom rung gamer journalist stories a week back about subverse jumping to the number2 spot on SteamDB week12 and totally being an organic steam top sellersurely ushering in the halcyon age of high end porngames?
Yeah... kind of like 60,000 backer keys were issued/activated when it went into early access. This isn't a valheim, vast majority of people who bought it bought it 2 years ago.
Only reason I can figure they released in this state, with 25 rigs for 27 scenes (and 3+ of those rigs involving random zombies and bugmen clearly not meant to be in game yet/at all) and all those lategame cutscenes smashed into a "6 chapter build" is they're out of money and needed a cash injection that doesn't seem to have been forthcoming.
For those that backed this, maybe hold out hope it hits 1.0 in 3 more galaxy builds claiming to be 5-6 chapters each, speedrunning more low effort recycled content for the next 6+ girls they're obligated to include. Thats the realistic best case here besides schrodinger's early access: they haven't violated the kickstarter as long as the game is still being "made."
I would kindly ask that you edit this post. Instead of criticism, you should be praising how perfect and awesome Subverse is because it's by first time devs who only had a small budget of 2 million dollars. We should only reserve criticism for every other game ever made. It's only fair. The real circular argument is this all goes back to subverse being a shit/10 game design.

I told them similar things on discord. Got laughed out of the room by people blinded by the promise of the game they couldn't see the reality.I don't want to sound rude or whatever, why don't you tell them this? Seems like your idea of Subverse is different from their idea of Subverse."Do the literal opposite of every design decision in a ground up redevelepment with the money and time you don't have" would be a pretty short email.

Thats going into the fundamental scope problems and Subverse not knowing what it is. They didn't commit to beast or normie appeal. Their "lighter tone" nonsense may just be due to censor concerns of Gofundme and Steam, but they made the marketing push for this to be a waifu collector with a MassEffect-DragonAge style relationsim companion system built around the combat loop.Seems like your idea of Subverse is different from their idea of Subverse.
The fact that you wouldn't fuck a dog-fucker is absolute proof of that. It literally makes no sense why you'd have other expectations of Subverse knowing who made it. Obviously all other girls are gonna be dog-fuckers. These characters aren't "heroines." StudioFOW only does sluts and emotionally broken women.
I'll admit that their branding using the term waifu to try and get that normie appeal is cringe knowing who they are. Adding dating-sim elements where the player has to talk and date the girls is also one of the stupidest ideas they could have knowing what kind of tone they were aiming for. One of the lead creatives was in-fact AGAINST adding a dating-sim type element to the game.
