I told them similar things on discord. Got laughed out of the room by people blinded by the promise of the game they couldn't see the reality.
Going back and reading it, it's honestly kind of sad how obvious it was: (it goes on for a while, but all the posts on 9/10/2020 should basically explore how fans thought at that time)
How was this particular channel doing nowadays, now that most of the premises are underdelivered by FOW -- or at least not in accordance with what people expected? The ratio in which people are getting pissed and the other defending the game like a knight in shining armor?

They could have gone dark humor in tone under the radar of censorship concerns with some actual thought put into the narrative design.
Isn't FOW's writing a bit to the sub-par side (sometimes relying on polls to include a random raffle winner to help them), for most of the time? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Main issue of this project is that it missed it platform, if it was mobile game there wouldn't be so much bitching about it state. On PC there are more core gamers that prefer to actually play a game, mixed with casual players. On other hand on mobile there are only few hardcore players, with less expectation.

Only problem is, no one would support mobile game.

I had no judgements while it was in development, just knew they had bullet-hell and "tactical-combat" and have scenes akin to the likes of Wild-Life. With its release, it sits more in line with Akaburs way of a porn game, essential a VN. That would have been the easiest and cost effective route. Guess this went the way that Cyberpunk did.

It feels like most of that two year time was made animating the pre-rendered custscenes. A character would take a month tops with rig and all. Not sure if there were clear cut roles within studiofow, like 3d generalist just animate and model while coders code.

Also, can anyone care to enlighten me on why the massive shit-storm of NTR?

Some guy thought that watching your waifu having a go with beasts while you're watching it is considered an NTR, then the thread's becoming a warzone.

Or so I've heard. CMIIW by the way.

The same reason the shit-storm happens in any other thread on this side: The MC isn't the only one having sex, so it's naturally NTR. Then some people bring up that the MC isn't in any relationship with any of the girls. Then the first group calls the second one "cucks" and from there an endless stream of shit starts.

Think it's funny with all the people doing the "they don't know how to make a game, and doing it all wrong".. Maybe you should band together, do a kickstarter and create a game, to prove them wrong and show them how to do it? Talk is cheap after all.

Tbh, all it boils down to is if you like something or not, goes for every game, vn, whatever you find on this site or anywhere else out there. Creators of games, and whatever else media, they don't really create it based on your expectations. They want to reach a broad audience and as many people as possible.

I think it's funny that unless someone creates a game they are barred from offering criticism.

No one is barred from criticism... Everyone can do it... write a review, whatever... But what some people do go far beyond that. Once you take on the "I know better attitude"... then talk is cheap...

They do hire new people to their dev team though. Maybe people should offer their expertise :ROFLMAO:

Fair enough.
Creating an adult game focused on mobile would be braindead since the getgo. You would have no way to publish it to the masses, or monetize it. You could argue patreon/subscribestar but I don't really see that would go down well as a profitable venture.

Correct, FOW's writing was always terrible. The shorts jump from place to place.

So what does that tell about all the creators that make use of polls and votes related to their content? They all terrible, or are they doing a "fan service" to try please their followers?

Personally I think creators who does such for games push people away rather than attract.

I don't have any opinion on voting.
I'm just remarking that FOW's storywriting was never one of their strong points.
This was tolerated as their sex scenes were generally good.

I only watched a few of their movies and came to the conclusion; people doesn't watch them for the "good" story. So why waste an awful lot of calories to make one? It's like with porn movies else. List 10 porn movies from top of your head that got that "good" story....

Exactly. So the logical conclusion would be that...

...people (mostly as in: the one who gave them money upfront on Kickstarter) want to play a FOW game because of the story? And not the porn?

Sure.
