When you grow up, reach adulthood and maybe get a job, have to set out on your own. You will learn the meaning of paying bills and cost of living...

Your definition of failures is a peculiar one..

And yet again, you fail to understand the simple concept of how the creators want you to experience something, and how you as a user want to experience it differs. Their creation vs your wants... Just because you desire something doesn't put them in the wrong.
Do have to just jump in here being that Wildlife got brought up again. Given their Kickstarter went up a few days ago and its not exactly off to the races like Subverse was.

I mean its not a competition (and I don't even think they need the money considering their monthly pull on Patreon), but for all the talk this thing was getting for comparisons, I kinda expected more.

It's kinda funny. Because their goal is shy of what they actually make over 3 months on Patreon. Their post on the steam forum says it will go towards complete the game, almost sounding they can't without. Maybe the poor start reflect the state of their patreon. Large part of those that do support already do so through Patreon and maybe not inclined to splurge on Kickstarter in addition.

If they wanted to reach out to more people with it, that sound strange too, because I don't think Kickstarter is marketing or advertising for you. You have to do that yourself. Would be more natural if they just put the damn thing into early access on steam with a price tag rather than a kickstarter at this point. Looks like most that bought into the KS so far gone for the 60usd tier.

Well we agree on one thing, they aren't hurting for funding. Dollar for dollar absolutely Mogging Incest as a draw.
They have a bright trajectory and a solid game design being actualized with a 3rd person sandbox gun/melee combat focus for a male protagonist, paired with a power fantasy harem storyline culminating in (optionally) becoming a beastman for the furry market.

Project Helius is also of interest. i don't personally like their FoMO monetization strategy, but the demos and tech is solid and it's supposed to release soon as a playable game on top of their longstanding animation gallery.

To stay thread relevant everything on this list is contemporaries of Subverse, launching ~2016. All have delivered their promises to backers far more competently. Being a Dik, Nadia, and Summertime saga aren't "the same" but the two bright stars of the western porn game industry here are both 3D monster sex games with conventional gameplay loops just like subverse. Here we can compare them at the price of free, which lets us judge them purely on merit. And just look at the ratings and critical reception.

I got a picture an added it to the wall, then I didn't like it because I got one better and deleted it on the gallery viewer, I went back to the Captain Quarters and I got this error. Any idea how to fixed it or where the pictures are saved so I can try to fix it on my own.

hacked the game to move around the camera during pandora scenes say that the animations are clipped and more poorly made than expected
Yet again you keep comparing Subverse to other failures
In regards to the camera, some people including me were talking about options about perspective shots many pages back. I think that some of the Pandora scenes can have more angles for camera options but some obviously can't. Like the example with Cyberpunk, there are tons of media that are purposely made for specific camera angles and perspective. Probably the most well known and successful example is all of Arc System Works' 3d games. They stretch out and morph their character models drastically for any given in-game cinematic and this looks horrible if the camera angle changes.

There was a funny picture of Goku's face and hair mangled in the game fighterz but I can't for the life of me find it. It's unfair to say an animation is bad if your looking at it in an unintended way. The lack of camera options for Pandora is fine but I would love if they added or polished some scenes with multiple camera angles/free cam in mind. I wanted to point out that the camera decision parallels with successes in the industry, not just "other failures."

Think it's funny, how people wanting total control and camera freedom over scenes in Pandora, draw parallels to people want total access to mod games as they please as well. Still remember people going nuts on TaleWorlds over MB Bannerlord2, because they didn't get full access to mod the game as they wanted. And people hacking together a online version of the game that is abysmal crap, just for them to say. Oh you where wrong TaleWorlds, we can have a online version of the game. Disregarding it wouldn't be possible to apply such online play within the single player campaign of the game, and no such online mp campaign was ever promised or set out to be created.

Staging these scenes in Pandora for the user/player to get the best experience is nothing more than what they do in the movie industry when shooting scenes. They do so under the best light and conditions possible for best result.

Some get upset when I claim its entitlement, but I grew up with games coming on cassettes, cartridges and floppy disks. The early days of piracy copying games of your friends etc. Games we didn't like we just didn't play. There was no shitstorm over why something was bad, it was just not played meanwhile games we liked we talked about. There is a lot of things I would like to see in Subverse, just, what I would like and what the creators does is two different things, it's their creation after all, not ours.

In that regard they didn't really set out to re-invent the wheel. Shoot em ups is in thousands out there, same with games with tactical grid combat at a variety of quality. Grid combat didn't start or end with xcom, and shoot em up games didn't end with Space invaders either. Oh, and majority of the games on this site is mediocre at best. Should fit right in then.
What makes a good or bad game is a matter of who rates it. This is a community for 18+ games so it will generally be rated based on 18+ content and the way the 18+ content synergizes with gameplay. The 18+ content within many of the games posted here is what brings them from mediocre to notable, without the 18+ content they wouldn't be, but without that they also wouldn't be posted here.

If the 18+ content doesn't feel connected to the gameplay, why wouldn't you play a game with better gameplay and watch better porn?
Connecting the 18+ content to gameplay is a critical element when crafting an 18+ game, otherwise it's just a regular game with some smut in it.

One of the reasons that this game has been so disappointing to some folks is that it had mainstream attention, has AAA polish, and is marketed as an 18+ game which takes gameplay seriously. This could create a market trend which brings 18+ games more into the mainstream, but the way in which it was executed has some people disappointed since what was delivered feels like it only has 18+ content as an afterthought rather than a critical component of the game. If you removed the 18+ stuff it wouldn't change the gameplay or story whatsoever, so it feels tacked on.

The problem is that they wanted to reward winning rather than losing, but the solution they chose is a bad one. A much better solution would be to unlock 18+ content based on score/ performance in levels as well as from dialog choices. Connecting the 18+ materials to gameplay in a seamless way is what separates an erotic game from a game with erotic materials, and what people were excited for was an erotic game with AAA polish.

That's overly simplify things. That's like saying This is a community for 18+ games. So all games with incest should be liked by all. All games with ntr should be liked by all, and so forth, because its games for 18+....

Oh and thank you very much for stating the obvious... "What makes a good or bad game is a matter of who rates it." Not everyone like the same things, that is why you see other games on this site with good reviews/ratings and others with bad reviews/ratings.

Cyberpunk got a 18+ rating, much due to nudity and sexuality, people play it even there is better games out there.. weird that right? One doesn't necessary exclude the other.

What fetishes a person enjoys are a very different matter obviously, fetishes are strongly held psychosexual drives comparable in power to whether a person is gay or straight.
Which game mechanics and structures make best use of the medium to create an enjoyable gaming experience is a very different matter, and while subjective is far less divisive.

We're online and porn is available with a simple search from our browsers, but we still choose to play smutty games.
The point of a smutty game is the interactive experience, and when you separate the 18+ materials from the game and story it only serves to defeat the entire purpose of a smutty game.

Take Shady Lewd Kart for example, they do have a shop where you can buy smut based on currency unlocked through play, which is how Subverse handles it, but they also have 18+ content included in the story itself and unlocked directly through play.
It's perfectly fine to do both, but if there isn't 18+ content in the game itself then is it really even an erotic game? I'd argue no, it's a game with an erotic gallery, and what even is the point then?

You made it sound like because 18+ site, then users of the community knew how best to rate a 18+ game. But, end of the day we are all different with different views, tastes, fetishes, and so forth. Your experience of a thing differs from others. All over this site you see people argue of things in a games based on their views and opinions. Reviews and ratings isn't objective. They more follow the cross section of general opinion. The more bad one thing is, the more people leaning in that direction. Funny enough looking at the steam reviews made by people who own the game, so far it listed at 81% positive with 8986 reviews.

Checking the steam forum for subverse you have people complaining there is to much sex in the story for it to make sense. I'm not exactly sure where you going with separate the 18+ content from the game in relation to Subverse, because that make no sense. It suck to repeat it again, but it's an game with porn in it, not a porn game. If you want the later, you will find a plethora of things that is just a "push next" to keep fapping... There is those that doesn't mind actual game play, regardless how bad you think it is. If you check for the latest updates on the site now, you will find game such as Mystwood Manor. Do you think people that just interested in fap will find all the managing stuff a fun pass time? Yet there is better "managing" games out there, but that doesn't keep people from play it right?

I mean, that's kinda the point of specialized communities. It's the same with things like hifi, movies generes, book generes, music generes and basically every other specialized community out there. The people who are on there will know more about that topic/genere on average and will care more about that topic/genere on average. It's just a matter of reality.
I think we agree that it's a huge difference whether a game is literally among your first games in a certain genere you play - most people remember those firsts very fondly - or whether you've played many dozens of these games (including some of the classics, etc.) and are able to compare.

If you check for the latest updates on the site now, you will find game such as Mystwood Manor. Do you think people that just interested in fap will find all the managing stuff a fun pass time? Yet there is better "managing" games out there, but that doesn't keep people from play it right?
Mystwood Manor is actually a good example on how Subverse could/should have done it or should do it and is a really good game to compare. Yes, it's a managing game and not a very good one at that, but due to the way the game is structured and the pictures, cut scenes, lewd scenes etc. are implemented, the erotic tension is almost constant while not feeling out of place. It doesn't have these massive shifts like Subverse, where you can literally play hours between some of the recruitment scenes without getting a scene or in fact anything that's actually erotic unless you yourself permanently go back to pandora. With Subverse it's basicallly the feeling of either "100% sex" or basically nothing/very little erotic actually worth mentioning. The problem in this case isn't really that pandora exists, but that there's very, very little outside of it.

Elisha's introduction was a small improment and I'd hope the outfits etc. will help a little more.

Subverse not even half way done. Mystwood had all girls unlocked, and you reached sex with them. Content wise Mystwood is leaps ahead in development, but at like their 2nd content update, it wasn't so. They not that different when it come to adding content. You did only start out with 2 characters in Mystwood, no lewd stuff to fap too. (unless you so desperate you fap to a nipple slip).

My point was there is other games with porn in them out there. Not just another porn game. "Straitened Times" is another time/resource management game. It took a good while before it started to pick up in lewd content as well.

What subverse is now, vs how it will be when its completed, will offer a whole different experience when playing through it with the entire story. With almost every game/vn (whatever) on this site, when a new update hits, there is more than often upset people... That all? Where is my fap?.... Take "The Intoxicating Flavor" as an example, the last few updates been just talking heads and story, but there is people that love that game regardless.

Also, you can't play for HOURS between lewd content in Subverse, unless you horrible bad at the actual game. There is always some lewd inuendos. A huge driving factor for Subverse is the voice actress.

Oh and just because you watch porn doesn't make you a specialist on it. That's like say everyone that got a pornhub account is specialists on the content. There is over 120 million active steam users a month... so on games, should that community be more specialized than this one? Being part of a community doesn't make you a specialist on anything (unless you got a education of some degree that make you so). You just gravitate towards things you like and like minded people. You have people on this site review and rate the same things and their views can differ greatly because when you zoom in on the community everyone is individuals end of the day with each their wants and desires. For like the past 20 years or so I have listened to two of my uncles argue what is the best HIFI equipment and they far from being any expert at all, they just HIFI nerds for lack of a better term.
