I get your argument, but that same logic could also be applied to an earlier milestone. At 100K, there's one that added additional animations for all the ladies. Does that mean there were no scenes planned until that point, or is it adding on what's already planned? The wording may have been poor, I give you that, but I don't think it was that far of a reach.

There's a fair balance of mantic and captain content. Do keep in mind that the Captain also appears in tease, after shots, and some of the crew animations, not all of his content is strictly dick in hole so to speak.

Thats is why i using the FAQ if you check question about the animation:

”Will the sex scenes be animated or are you just gonna cuck us with stills and voiceovers? There will be animations, of course!”

It's not like they are saying: ”We add animations thanks to the goal”

Well good thing there's a filter, so you don't have to see them. Captain will get some quality scenes eventually, since the devotion quests for each girl cap off with a lengthy romance scene

Ok but let's be honest, read the FAQ. Really looks like the scenes were added because of the goal. Again bad communication that they just said “Yes we made a mistake, are we going to correct? No.)
Here is the thing, I don't see a point in losing my shit, yhea was 70 that I burn but in some way it helped build something that someone will enjoy even if that person will not be me.

Or, counter point, the absolute least authoritative source of what Studio Fow promised in the past would be studio fow in the present.

Followed closely of course by VValen, the Fow Stan with his easily documentable discord track record and thread behavior. We have the screen grabs, archives, and pre release promotional material saying otherwise. And all the other media sources shared and fostered to say things "they didn't say" that directly led to backer perception and support.

Some of the new "descriptions" also make the "no NTR" (nonplayer sex in front of the player current tag definition) thing even more a lie in the face of "(paraphrasing) the captain's away so now I have to fuck these tentacles" and other such gems. On top of the fact nothing is optional, just not unlockable. Some of the new descriptions make that pretty clear it's happening and you as the captain must be viewing it after the fact. The equivalent of not having to watch a certain red horned demon pay your wife a visit.

Different strokes, but considering the captain has a "I cucked you fair and square" world view, he in narrative would view himself as a cuckold over the goings on in his own ship even if you the player are just along for the ride as a 4th wall observer. Note even in the first build he took offense at the idea Demi was spending any time, at all, with the horny demon crewmate due to the fact she's his sexbot and he's a horny 3 balled alien. Contextually it doesn't matter what we think or feel playing the game, the character has his own canonical response to this. People also generally don't like a character done dirty like that. If you actually like the space austrialian, why would you want to watch him get fucked over and led along with these promises of transactional sex? But this gets into the writing and it's whole other set of issues.

Didn't have to be like this either. Wildlife has a nifty solution; in their storymode it's strongly hinted you're going to ultimately become a beastman and you'll be able to watch all the scenes from a first person PoV and/or player perspective. Sandbox play you already can pilot and play the beast characters. Other games roll out similar "you have a new body and/or were always a dragon and/or..." narrative framing that makes the player or a player foil the one getting laid in most content (that thing subverse still lacks, framing)

They had the perfect solution here too, you the genetic progenitor of all the mantics pilot them in battle and they're otherwise passive and nonsapient as stated. The whole "living bred weapons loyal to one commander" plot is kind of wrapped up in this sort of thing. Easy framing from there is first person/3rd person PoV monster sex is of the player as a monster. Considering the fact the target demographic of Fow content was and still is furries/beast enthusiasts many/most people would probably have preferred the captain as a means to one end: having a dragondildo dong via such a narrative framing.

It could have even easily been part of this update with the little dialogue descriptions (in leu of actually making the scenes contextual) which would have explicitly made mantic sex MC content and interrelate it with the combat playloop. Instead here we are.

Now I never post on this site and I know I'm clearly not the target audience for this game, but this has got to be some of the (unintentionally?) funniest shit I've ever read so I feel like I have to comment on it.

How does a romance quest/option or whatever fit into a game where said "romantic interests" regularly fuck everything with a dick in the galaxy, whether the player wants to or not? Like what the actual fuck; is the player character gonna ask the doctor out for a romantic dinner after he walks in on her getting spitroasted by Jabba the Hutt and some dogalien?
Or how about watching a movie and then some missionary afterwards with the robot chick before she goes off to get gangbanged by a spacelizard and a tentaclemonster?

Yep that's what a number of us have said since the launch - some kind of choice system would have handled it just fine for all parties and had the scenes directly integrated into the narrative based on those selections the player would make, but instead it's shoe-horned in to the story via dialogue and codex. Oh well. Just thankful for F95 to discover these things before getting my wallet out.
