LOL. Wow so many people are upset that a fictional character has a different ending than they want. Oh no don't make D do that. She really loves her predator daddy. I laughed quite a bit when I answered the phone. I am looking forward to D getting defiled but a lot of old guys who are not her Dad. I can't believe some idiot thought that you should have discussed with Mr Dots. F Mr Dots. Gee Mr Dots is it ok that I make money however I see fit.

I also kind of look at the comments that essentially are saying, "You made her story/ending different and I'm pissed off about that, but you are stealing her," and just shake my head. How is that possible? "She" is not real. But hey. I guess I'm just supposed to do the whole thing for free, and hope that somebody else pays my bills.

Wasn't there also some "extras" version of the first release? Will that happen again or is that canceled?

The modder bailed out on continuing with that. MrDots is apparently going to be extending his development of DMD longer and adding some of the kinks he originally promised, and then I changed my game concept, so he apparently lost interest.

Let me be clear on this, most of what you are referencing, are things I was saying in response to a couple of people implying that I should have obtained approval from the DMD folks. I'm not denying that it is an alternative universe version of the character, for those who know tha backstory of the DMD game. In the Changelog on page one of the thread, I state that I've converted the storyline over to the "Dee after Daddy" concept. It is clearly inspired by the original. People can make whatever comparisons they want. I'm not surprised by that. But those comments of mine were in response to a particular context. I had one person claim that "he even stole the name of the MC from the other game." Did I do an homage to the original by using a play on the common practice of fan forums and such referring to her as "D," by using "Dee" for her alias? Yes. But some guy was saying that I stole her name from the DMD folks, which I don't see how that would be possible, since the first thing you do is set her name to whatever you want. I'm not denying that I intended that people who have played DMD, would assume her backstory. If you were to look back somewhere earlier in this thread, somewhere you would see that I even said that our jumping off point would have to be, the "daddy was fucking everybody" path of DMD, even though I always played the "D" only path myself. However, this game is also intended, that if you've never played DMD, then it wouldn't matter, and that this story would stand up on it's own. And this character isn't going to be the over the top naïve character from DMD.

As far as the render thing you mentioned. I know that I have a few of those in the game. I am doing a little learning when it comes to Daz Studio, and their new version, as well as how to get rid of a flaw Daz has had for quite a while where the iray renders with darker lighting, don't come out quite right. They introduced some AI to Daz in their last release, in order to help with that, but sometimes the AI does an amazing job at predicting what the picture is supposed to look like, and other times not so much. I'm working on learning ways I might be able to maybe change the lighting a little if that happens, but the problem there is that you can't change it too much, or you would have to go back and re-render a whole string of images everytime you run across the problem.

Some people will be pissed that she has a different personality in my game. Some people really like that. But I'm not "stealing" anything. The backstory that people get, if they have played DMD, comes from their own minds. All I did was plant a few seeds with 2 or 3 lines of dialogue. I was going to use this model either way. The comparisons to DMD were always going to happen.

Take your example that you quoted about the line about her mother. Is the line there to bring up the exact scenario from DMD for those who have played the game? Absolutely. Does it work all by itself. It could mean she's a piece of shit for any number of reasons.

Ok man, Like I said it's your game, your decision and I respect that. Maybe I'll test your game again in the future, the sex scene with Dawn was interesting, that'll be the reason I'll keep playing it and probably I'll skip the scenes have an old man involved because I didn't find arousing, in fact, the effect is the inverse(I really don't understand this fetish, sorry). Taking a well loved eroge character even if fictional and ignoring the feelings of fans is great way to alienate your customer base. So many tried and yet to see anyone succeed. I do actually hope you can make it work because I like idea and find it strange that using non porn characters in porn games is a huge market but using porn game characters in other porn games is so taboo. Good luck and hope you can win over the doubters.

Thanks for your comment. You touch on one of the difficult points of the whole thing. I'm not trying to alienate fans of the original character/game. I am a fan of the original myself. I just found it ironic that because I'm not sticking with the original storyline of DMD, that somehow means I'm "stealing," but if I actually stuck with the original game's theme, that would be "not stealing." We will see how it goes. I can't control other people's feelings, and I can't possibly please everyone. I just know that I am enjoying working on the game, and hopefully some people will like what I come up with, because I'd like to be able to continue with it.

I like your Dee and the whole situation (quite desesperate), it's so fucked up for her but it could be a good introduction for a slutty Dee ^^ I hope you always have the idea to create different path with your character too (like the original game).

P.S. : I think there is a little bug when I replay the game, the points from my previous save where always here (the sugar daddies points and the others like money) and in the end I had 2000 dollars and more than 10 points with Jake ^^' It reminds me some corruption game like this one where renpy never reset the points in every game.

I understand that. I have always been on the "D" only path in DMD myself. But I needed a jumping off point for my story, to disconnect from the other game, and just like MrDots ran into with DMD, patreon doesn't allow incest.

To be fair i can´t remember if sometime written in the overview in the op page or in the game itself that your game tells the story after DMD but when yes then of course i understand that you need a jumping of then.For me was your game a different game not like a prequel or sequel from MrDots game because you are a different game dev.Sure the names from them are the same but for me it doesn´t matter.MrDots leave DMD from patreon because that but he use for this game subscribestar.I wish you luck with your game and maybe i play your game sometimes.

I'll have to look at the problem, and see what the issue is with the points and money situation. It shouldn't be doing that.

No the father will not return at all. He's out of the picture.

It is currently fucked up for her. It would be for anybody in that situation. To me, storyline wise, it does open up all kinds of possibilities. People react to things in all different ways.

She will have sex with other people.

There will be different routes.

I was so excited to try this game the other day (mac) but unfortunately the game didnt work. I got an unrecoverable error just after hitting the "start" to play. So I didnt get off the menu screen. Any chance of seeing a fixed file link for MAC in the future, pls?

I wish I could. I don't have a MAC. I provided the MAC build, because Renpy has the ability to build it, but I'd be just chasing my tail, with no way to test, or debug. I've already had them remove the link from the download section. Sorry.

Terry, the only thing I have found on the error happening with other games, has to do with having not coded explicit "return" statements at the end of renpy label code segments. I have a bunch of those. I could try that, but it would take me quite a while, because I would have to retest literally everything. I'd be willing to do that except for the fact that I'd be guessing, because I still have no way to test it on a MAC myself. I probably shouldn't have provided the MAC version, and just left it up to somebody else to do a MAC build if they wanted to. I think that is the route I'm going to have to take, because I would just be shooting in the dark.
