I guess you're not followed the game news and dev logs, but Ocean has been talking about music license issues for a long time, and they are exactly related to adult content. That's why he's so concerned about securing the music licenses in his game for the songs he's carefully selected over the years and even built several cinematics around the songs. It's not the only Ocean, many devs have faced the same problems and had to remove some key music compositions from their games, and the adult nature of their games became a direct reason for copyright holders to revoke their music tracks. And the worst part is that they did this with games that had been in production for a long time.
I understand that but i dont understand how removing the music means you have to remove the whole scene? Does that apply to every other scene as well? Cause most of the game has music lol, so most of the scenes will get removed? Actually i could understand a scene getting compromised by music being removed if its a scene thats made specifically to compliment the music like the various scene of Bella with her hair blowing in the wind or sharing a passionate kiss, etc... but Nami rubbing her ass on MC's dick didnt really strike me as that kind of scene, you could have played a trumpet during that it wouldn't matter.

And you're right, the jacuzzi scene is something that could bring the "adult" label or whatever it's called on Steam for the game. Many people won't ever see a game tagged like this on Steam, due to platform restrictions. It's a fair trade-off to rework one scene to appeal to a wider audience.
Sure i dunno if its worth sacrificing your own story for it, cause i dunno how big the trade off would be in the end. In fact it might even backfire cause people might think its one of those Western porn VN's like BaDIK and download it, miss the no sex tags play it realize there is no sex and leave a bad review lol. RIP Season 2 on Steam then, not that he ultimately needs it, he released the game on multiple platforms already and is earning more than a brain surgeon in Switzerland does on it.

It's widely known that music industry doesn't like to give rights for their music. It's still taboo. In real live you can ask independent bands, but they usually run away when you use word "adult". Very few people will speak with you because they don't want their names are associated with adult content. Ocean try to find who are wiling to work with him and make good songs. Usually those are custom songs for the game.

And we have returned to Where It All Began :HideThePain:
This is clearly not your game because you don't like the slow pace and long relationship building. To me it sounds like "I don't like this comedy because it's not a horror movie."
I dunno why people keep saying this, it's literally one of my favorite games on here. Or do people think just because you love something you cant or aren't allowed to criticize or question some decisions regarding it?
My favorite movies, shows, games are also things i have a lot of criticism over, simply because i tend to also hold them to a higher standard than stuff i find to be mid or terrible.
I did 5 different playthroughs of BG3, i spent this much time in a game that's only been out for 2 and 1/2 months
122113.png
and yet i have a ton of stuff to both praise and criticize the game for, even though it also became one of my favorite games ever, literally on my top 5 list of all time.
I dont understand some people some time, maybe we just have completely different standards and ways we approach things...

My friend... we see the dick and everything...
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
i am not exaggerating anything... the scene is what it is... this is an obviously explicit scene. I am just asking why is the scene getting removed if the music is also getting removed? What does one have to do with the other? When you can just put different music or no music at all. I am just confused about that part.
You said i was disgusted by things here, where did you get that word? Where did i say i was disgusted by anything here? Can you tell me where it was first stated that Season 1 was not gonna have any sexual content? Cause it certainly wasnt when the game started or even just a year or more back, maybe i missed it but also Ocean missed it as well because he already put H content in the game.
Well ok I stand corrected on the dick situation. But no, the music will still be there if that scene is modified. The problem is that if Ocean left it as it is, then goodbye to the 40% of the music licenses that he has already paid and implemented to the game. You have to understand this.
With "disgusted" I meant "upset", sorry for my non-native english. And I can't put you the original source, but since it was established that SG would be splitted into seasons, it first one wasn't gonna have H content (the hardcore stuff, that scene pushed that meaning to the limit but nothing happened there, now it's gonna be tweaked to some mild point). And that probably was 1-1.5 years ago.

Nami rubbing ass -> game tagged porn -> copyright holders go anal -> urgent update on Steam removes the music from the released game.
I can't explain this better. :HideThePain:

We'll see. At the very least, leave it up to the developer to choose how they want to market and target their game.

I dont think you understand my question... i get why the music is being removed i dont get why the sex scene is being removed you can remove the music without touching the sex scene.

Its not like i have any influence on that anyway.

Lets just forget about the music thing cause i feel like we are talking in circles.
Anyway if it was established 1.5 years ago that season 1 would be non-sexual i guess i missed that part cause i genuinely cant remember and i have been following this game at least as far as the stuff Ocean releases on patreon, i dont follow everything he posts on discord especially if he doesn't tag people, but sure it's all non-sexual for now.
Not sure why he hyped up the next update so much then, especially with promising some really rewarding scenes with Nia, but oh well... maybe the MC and her play a very intense game of hide and seek.

Dude, stop. You can't change the people on the internet. You are fighting a losing battle. :HideThePain:
And you're poking the both sides with the stick and giggling. I don't see anything in this guy's words that is worth fighting for. A typical argument about a game between people with different opinions. While no one is calling others cockgoblers and dicksuckers and the discussion is on topic, I have no problem with it and I hope the other side doesn't either.

I dunno who "you guys" are but i think you just found out that different people want different things on the internet. The approach to building up to sex scenes is what i PREFER in my games, which is why i was offput when the dev seemingly did it for other reasons that are not game/story related, but mechanical that is where i had a problem with. I mean this game is a few month from being 5 YEARS OLD, thats half a decade... we are approaching this game going through 3 different US presidents and still not having any sex content lol.
The main problem is not that different people want different things, but the problem is different people want to force their opinion to the developers. Not just only in Ocean's case, but every other developer. Sometimes it really annoying to read the endless posts with complaining, whining, crying, b*tching, etc., but mostly is very funny and entertaining.

What I'm talking about?
"I (don't) want this, I (don't) want that, I (don't) want incest, NTR, harem, dev should do this, or that, etc."

When I try an AVN, the first things I look at is the genre and developer notes. If that's fine for me, I'll download it and give it a try. In most cases, 20-30 minutes is enough to decide whether I are interested or not. If I'm not interested, then I drop the AVN, but I'm not going to write a complaining, whining, crying, b*tching post, and I don't give unasked advice to the developer about what I think he should do differently with his own game.

If there is any explicit scenes anywhere in the game (like the Jacuzzi), it will violate the license terms of 40% of the music used in the game, and a lot of the new music for Chapter 5.

It's not a matter of just removing music from the Jacuzzi scene, having any explicit content in the game voids those licenses. So it's a no-brainer to remove the explicit scene, to save 40% of the music across the game as a whole.

Season 2 will be a separate game, so it having explicit content won't void the music licensing in season 1. Ocean will have to get different music licensing in season 2 which allows explicit stuff.

Now she looks like she belongs in "Where It All Began" especially with that face of hers. Definitely doesn't look like a MILF lol
We don't know that Noji is not a cousin to one of the mains from WIAB.

There are still plenty of mysteries in SG that have yet to be revealed.

While you don't see her as a MILF - I sure do - so on this point, we simply have different tastes/views of Nojiko.

Cheers!! :coffee:

Well you can't blame him if some people translates "promising scenes with Nia" to "full lewd moment". Maybe that reward scene is a mix of making out, some groping and nudity, not a hj or similar. We'll see, but it's not that he's going full puritan route for S1, that 4some session we had in ch4.5 says it all. If there's one thing we know from this story, it's that actually the MC needs a good degree of intimacy to only want to take things further (if he wants to). It would go against his character to accept hypothetical sexual advances from Nia right now.

Ok i get it now, easier to remove one scene than 40% of the music he has in the game. I kept thinking it was just 1 song that was affected.
With that said, that's kinda poor planning on Oceans part... pay for music that you cant use in a porn game whose license was about to expire before the release? Well i hope he makes better and more longterm decisions in the future. Anyway thanks.
