I dunno who "you guys" are but i think you just found out that different people want different things on the internet. The approach to building up to sex scenes is what i PREFER in my games, which is why i was offput when the dev seemingly did it for other reasons that are not game/story related, but mechanical that is where i had a problem with. I mean this game is a few month from being 5 YEARS OLD, thats half a decade... we are approaching this game going through 3 different US presidents and still not having any sex content lol.

The main problem is not that different people want different things, but the problem is different people want to force their opinion to the developers. Not just only in Ocean's case, but every other developer. Sometimes it really annoying to read the endless posts with complaining, whining, crying, b*tching, etc., but mostly is very funny and entertaining.

What I'm talking about?
"I (don't) want this, I (don't) want that, I (don't) want incest, NTR, harem, dev should do this, or that, etc."

When I try an AVN, the first things I look at is the genre and developer notes. If that's fine for me, I'll download it and give it a try. In most cases, 20-30 minutes is enough to decide whether I are interested or not. If I'm not interested, then I drop the AVN, but I'm not going to write a complaining, whining, crying, b*tching post, and I don't give unasked advice to the developer about what I think he should do differently with his own game.

I dont think you understand my question... i get why the music is being removed i dont get why the sex scene is being removed you can remove the music without touching the sex scene.

The problem is that if Ocean left it as it is, then goodbye to the 40% of the music licenses that he has already paid and implemented to the game. You have to understand this.

If there is any explicit scenes anywhere in the game (like the Jacuzzi), it will violate the license terms of 40% of the music used in the game, and a lot of the new music for Chapter 5.

It's not a matter of just removing music from the Jacuzzi scene, having any explicit content in the game voids those licenses. So it's a no-brainer to remove the explicit scene, to save 40% of the music across the game as a whole.

Season 2 will be a separate game, so it having explicit content won't void the music licensing in season 1. Ocean will have to get different music licensing in season 2 which allows explicit stuff.

I couldn't care less that S1 is non-adult. It has enough to emotionally attach me to the setting and characters, even if the MC is a whole cringefest I can overlook that.
It's actually a worthwhile marketing strategy that is absolutely going to work out. As a non-porn VN it's gonna be displayed to pretty much everyone on Steam (depending on certain laws in their country of residence), and the hope is that people are gonna get captivated by the art style, story and beautiful characters. Once that happens S2 will sell like hotcakes, even among people that usually wouldn't buy a typical porn VN.

Music licenses for S2 are a whole different beast. Music that's cleared for use in adult content is usually really horrible crap, and if you narrow it down to cleared tracks that aren't horrible AND haven't been used in a bazillion other adult games the pickings get very slim very fast.

Sexual content as in a girl touching MC's peepee. In the jacuzzi scene we only see Nami wiggling her ass on MC's lap, of course we know what's happening down there but don't exaggerate it. The thing is he paid for music licenses and now 40% of these were in risk if he didn't tweak that scene (we'll have to see the final version before judging, right?). And it's not the first time nor the last time where the music industry has influenced some of the VN around here. The most prominent example would be BaDIK with its original theme song, but Ocean himself has been a victim of this (RIP Every Night ).
And I'm not strawmanning you. Just saying that what you're complaining about are things that everyone already knew beforehand, like S1 wasn't gonna have H content.

Not only was the scene with the jacuzzi removed, but watching porn in the MC's house was also removed. Comparing games is a bad idea, there is a lot of free music in BaD and it is much more varied than in SG. Here are Ocean's answers, I highlighted the main ones:

Sell the game as an Adult game because of one single scene that would force it into said label on Steam. And then accept all the drawbacks that come with the Porn label. (Most Steam users will never see your game, etc.)
On top of that lose a lot of the new music for Chapter 5.

Tone down that one scene in order to sell the game as Non-Adult and have access to the entirety of Steam's population. (Including Germany, etc.) And keep all the music I had already gotten through my Enterprise Sub.
Pretty fair trade-off to be honest.
Season 2 won't be sold as a DLC.
It will be sold as its own entity. (Every season is its own game. Like Dragon Age 1 and 2.)
And yes, you will be able to port saves over.

Also the "adult/erotica" and the "explicit" tags on Steam do very different things. The first one removes certain age groups and the second one entire markets and countries.
I believe partial nudity and touching are still okay for erotica, things change when a dick or labia sneak on screen. So he could have quite a bit of fun with Nia in Ep5 even with the restrictions (and me not giving a rats ass about her).

Adult content (nudity, groping, etc) is ok. It's when porny stuff appears that the problems arise, being the music he already paid for the game or that the Steam release wouldn't get the exposure he wanted (thanks to AlexFXR for posting Ocean's words). The MC is clearly a love or hate type, I'm not gonna discuss that xD

I must say watching vi**in battles in last couple of pages about removed scene and no sex pixels in a game about STORY was entertaining as hell ngl.

Story is what matters at least for me, i dont give a shit about sex scenes they will come when they come (heh), build up to it is most times better as we can see in this game.

And for ppl who just want to fap to pixels, there are other options/sites for that, or just go out with your friends...

From Ocean's last dev log, he talked about learning: Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects, Substance Painter, and Blender.

Each of these cost $ on the planet I come from.

His supporters (I'm talking about people who provide $ via Patreon and SS, for example, not takers like you who appear just to complain) provide $ to support these software purchases/licenses.

I for one feel like my $ is well spent.

Music licenses cost money - who knew.

Ocean uses a lot of great music and licenses are not cheap.

He said that he had to remove some of the music from Season 1 because the licenses expired.

I wonder why this could be???

Perhaps Ocean bought an annual or limited multi-year license at a time when he was less well-resourced so that he could include great music in SG?

Perhaps turning those licenses into permanent - meaning no time limitation - licenses costs a Lot more $ than an annual or multi-year license does...

A Steam release is a way to gain both recognition and get a significant boost in terms of resourcing - which allows Ocean to continue to grow his capabilities for SG as well as include permanent music licenses, etc.

I could go on but I'm seeing the image of Yet another bridge and Yet another troll coming out to complain.

Why not pop back into your primary account and go complain elsewhere.

Well, even as a fan of games, I still have a lot of criticism about this game. But as someone who does not use English, I found it really frustrating to write a long paragraph about things I criticize about this game, and knowing you, I will have to write a lot of long replies to backup myself.

And for the Subnero situation: what happened to "Ocean's Vision," about which you always talk? He literally decided to change his vision of his game and remove the already-established scene because of the music license issue and the Steam release. and I think Subnero has a right to ask about it.
