well the double payment is the steam version with no lewd content and then the patreon version with lewd content so thats what most people will do buy both or buy one rather you want to see boobs and asses or not. thats the scam having two versions vs one, it's kinda like teasing players with the steam version just to get them to sub for patreon and SS to get the lewd version. you get double payment if not money in the long run if they keep their sub on patreon and SS.

The Steam version will bring in new players, the majority of whom will have no idea about Patreon or a very slightly different version of the game.

Meanwhile, people on Patreon, SS, et al know the score because Ocean is being transparent. What Patreons then choose to do ("single payment" / "double payment") is more about their own impulse control than any imagined devious, cunning plan by Ocean.

However, let's be realistic... considering where we are. The vast majority of people in this particular community will download the game for free.

FOR TRANSPARENCY: I will purchase the game on Steam and then likely download the Patreon version (from here) for free.

All good, I mean here we are after all I'm going to buy on steam, gog and epic, because I'm okay with that but I'll never sub to someone. Life's too uncertain, and I don't have huge disposable income.

Regards the versions, the steam version is rate 16+ for a reason, not just because Nika punches Sai, or there's guns. Steam has plenty of games with guns with no age restrictions, or punching games. So it's the naughty words and uncovered skin that are driving it there. I'm guessing having a slightly different build for the patreons helps offset that Ocean will release it to them later so not to hurt sales on Steam.

I don't think he intends anyone tob buy or sub everywhere, he's just letting people find ways they get into the game.

right i mean i totally understand the whole certain countries don't allow porn or nudes in their county on steam or whatever platforms that he will sell on and that ocean is trying to get more eyes on summers gone to fund his project, that i understand clearly. it's just some devs have all kinds of kinks and such in their games on steam and are selling just fine but maybe they are only selling in the USA not other countries who knows.

Some devs are fine with the closed market of AVN's so they just lean into the fetishes, holding votes, making a game for the fetishes. Ocean want to tell a story, not buy stocks in a tissue company and become a render farm for lewd scenes. So it's a challenge. I'm hoping for success so he can start progressing the second season. Lewds are just a bonus to me, the main event is the story.

I mean as far as business skills go, most devs have to be a quick study or fail, and there's no beaten path to follow. They literally make their own path.

i for one my taste have changed over the last couple of years, i just like the next guy love eye candy or lewd content but i now love more story building/ relationship building in these AVNs, i get emotional in some of them i start to care about the characters, so maybe the eye candy group of players that support these devs and get played by them will be less so in the coming years just maybe.

There's a limit of 1000 threads you can ignore. They've put that there to keep the database from freaking out. But threads and people are independent, so you can probably ignore 1000 people if you like, and still have ignores left over for handholding games.

i for one think it's a bit kinda immature to ignore or block someone for just making a statement, i mean can these people ever have a debate or conversation with someone in real life that they don't just go ape shit because that person said something that they don't agree with. i can imagine these kind of people don't have a social life or any kind of realtionships with various people because not everyone will always agree with you in real life and you can't just ignore people in real life you wount have no friends and friends that love you will tell you the truth but these people are not looking for truth thats why they ignore and block. has anyone ever heard the word snowflake before ?

a job you get payed if you work these devs are getting payed rather they work or not devs go sometimes 6 months to a year without a single update and they are supported the entire time you can't do that on a normal job and people that support them are so faithful and loyal to these devs i almost feel sorry for them that i can only imagine these devs laughing at them because no matter what these devs do or don't what promises they keep or not they will always get support from their fans, it's kinda sad to see but hey it's their money to throw away not mine.

Its a weird conundrum where I am happy a dev is doing well because it increases the odds of finishing the story, but at the same time I hate that they get to a point where they are too big to fail, no matter how arrogantly they treat the audience that got them there in the first place, or how bad they shit the bed with their product.

I've only blocked two posters, mainly because I would get triggered into arguments with them, and it was pointless. After mods started cleaning up thread, I decided it's far more useful to write theories about SG than argue with people ...generally. I'm still easy enough to trigger

The "ignore/block" option exists for people use it, you have the same freedom to not block anyone as block them.

I don´t have anyone blocked, but sometimes is difficult resist the temptation, when you watch one day and another day the same people (or new) saying the same things all day it can be really annoying...

I take it like a way of expel bad feelings from your side, sometimes reading some people only bring darkness and anger to your life so... Better put that people in an ignore list or try to cope with them, the two options seems valid to me.

And not all the people have the same capacity of patience, and is not a bad thing, all of us all differents in our way.

i see devs that have probaly far less powerful computers and have far less great looking renders that are making 10k or more a month in income. now how are they making that much a month having far less and then we have other devs that are making little to nothing a month with far greater to work with. i think it comes down to story and characters not renders and FX scenes.
