The last firefox update has been reacting weirdly with this site, sorry and fixed
It was a good post alright? Sheesh tough crowd
- As I say, Summer's extended family are unlikely to have met Nika (other than Elsa's mom, as they hang out with Elsa). Extended family might just tell their kids that NIka's trash just because it's what Summer's parents say. You don't have to meet someone to talk shit about them - family take sides without evidence all the time.
- Nika remembers the giraffe, which means that he saw it in Summer's home before Summer gave it to Nia. Summer and Elsa hang out like a posse with Nika and Nami, so it is strange that Nia doesn't, other than Ocean's plot reasons of making sure Nika didn't recognise Nia. And I think that's the sole reason - Ocean wanted a revelation moment, and wants Nika not to recognise people, it's part of his way to create surprise. I think actually Nia was important to Summer, it wasn't a one off thing - why would Summer go to her party with a present if it was just the first time they hung out? Nia has enough history, but Summer already knew Nika as well, telling Nia all about their relationship. Nia even tells Summer why she doesn't socialise, so Summer thought it was strange as well. All that matters is that Nia wasn't a casual acquaintance, even though her best friend was Nika.
- Even though the gun appeared like a simpler option, if someone pointed a gun at you would you be comfortable meeting them for therapy? More likely she'd want the police involved than therapy. What's to reconcile in the old version? they both had adrenaline and pointed a gun at each other. In Marla's case it's less traumatic being aimed at because she knows it's blanks, she literally knows he can't kill her with it. Even in the gun scenario, there's no guarantee you didn't disarm her and throw the gun away - shooting the blanks at her isn't guaranteed. So what trauma is there for her to work through? If you did try to kill her, she'd want a restraining order instead, but the therapy is regardless of that choice to point the gun at her.
- Why would NIka be the problem? That's the question we're trying to find out here. We probably can't, and I'm just shooting blanks at why Marla's there.
More seriously, we don't know Marla's trigger (sorry not sorry) for her confidence trauma. I think it's something to do with Nika's situation. JUst like Nika's never met Katie, but she knows who Nika is, Hill knows who Nika is, Marla does as well. Keep in mind she's employed and has access to the student folders, so she knows more about Nika than we know. It's a lot more complicated than what is between NIka and Marla, it covers why ZPR are interested in Nika and Nami maybe? So if Nami has Leia's earring, and Katie is possibly there at the bookclub to meet Nami (not knowing NIka would be there) Marla doesn't care one bit about Nami, only Nika, despite both of them appearing to get some form of scholarship (no choice about college). Marla is indifferent to Nami, while Hill and Marla know things about him. Katie is interested in both.
Anyway, the point is that Marla has an insterest in Nika that has nothing to do with the gun or the crash. Group therapy for Marla regarding the crash should also involve the police and Vic, as Nika was just a bystander like the police. People get fixated by the gun in weird ways, maybe it belonged to Chekov.
- Marla's reason for shared therapy can be a variey of things. IF she's related to Summer in some fashion, she might regret what happened that caused Summer to go missing. She might not be related, but caused the crash that killed Nika's parents. It can't be therapy for attraction, because she hasn't seen him enough and had enough awkward encounters to warrant therapy for liking a young student. Nika will probably believe the therapy is for the accident, but it's most likely something else. The accident just throws them together and becomes the vehicle/mechanism that starts their path.
