I had a good laugh about that facepalm thing the games are great in my opinion but at this rate it seems to me its just money laundering that those people that pay them its not even about caring about the money you pay its caring about not being robbed consensually from those devs respectfully this has to change and the only one's that can make effects on the matter are the ones paying the devs in the first place.
Dude, if this is trolling, it's so subtle that I didn't get it. If not... Do you understand what money laundering is? Are you accusing the developer of using their games as a cover for something illegal, or what? Please, share the Naked Truth and Hot Facts with us!

I don't think ocean is a scammer, he is just a very talented artist who is god awful project leader...he still after 5 years of development has no idea about this game ending, which characters are going to be romance options nor the route this game is going to take (at first game was going to be dark than he said it will be happy than month ago he said that he will also include dark path imao)...
Him also already working on another project as to not get burned out before the season 1 (of possible 6 i think) is even finished while also being mr pleaser towards his patreons (how else to justify terrible decisions of ruining mila model and making that infamous monkey nami dance scene) just tell us that the chance of this thing ever getting finished are pretty small and if it does quality will most likely go downhill as he gets more burned out cause of doing two huge projects at the same time and reworks more and more stuff in order to kiss his patreon supporters ass

They're Backkkk...

Ocean is a scammer...

Ocean is a milker...

Here we go again...

The uneducated attacks of those who are angry that they are not getting their free stuff in the quantity/quality/speed/number of animations/level of resolution that they are entitled to astounds me.

Ocean is a Prolific creator, making Summers Gone and Where It All Began side-by-side:

His updates have typically 1,000+ renders + quality animations, all created in high resolution (no '480p' here...); licensed music; a great story and Many potential LI's.

He invests a huge amount of his cash flow from supporters in: better hardware, music licensing, and yes - paying both other team members And hiring freelancers where he feels he can leverage their talents to create something he can incorporate into a VN so he can focus on other things - like story rendering...

Ocean gave kudos to the freelancer who created the outdoor stadium environment where the MC, Zara and the rest of the basketball team hopefuls did their first night practice.

Ocean hired a freelancer to make the phone app but, in this case, this person blew it and Ocean had to take it back.

So - Ocean hired someone who did not live up to the hype/do their job... because that never happens in RL, right?

There is a consequence for development speed when someone hired to do a job does not get the job done:

As mentioned above, the work on the phone has begun. Good boi Messe has created a lot of fantastic-looking UIs for me. The coding part is definitely the hardest, as I'm still doing it myself. But I'm getting there. Here's the current main menu.

Progress is pretty fast, even though the phone takes quite a few hours away from setting up scenes atm.

I think Ocean is not just a great creator, he is a smart businessman!

Yes, creating a high-quality AVN like Summers Gone means approaching this Not as a hobby, but as a business.

The decision to rework SG (primarily CH 1 & 2, with continuity updates in other chapters as needed) has a Very specific purpose:

It is not milking ...

It is the preparation for a Steam release.

Steam is Major opportunity to introduce the world beyond F95 to Summers Gone - and Ocean gets 1 chance to make a first impression.

Steam success will create not just a huge resource bump, but also provide the following (at a minimum):

Exposure to a huge world-wide audience

Notice and potential teaming opportunities with high quality freelancers who want to be part of Summers Gone, Season 2 and beyond

Notice by indie music performers who can see the potential of teaming with a creator like Ocean - in-AVN credit and the chance to grow their own audience by piggybacking on the success of Summers Gone.

And - I'm sure I'm missing other advantages since the above are just my 'off the cuff' thoughts as I write this.

So:

Milking = NO

Scamming = NO

Creating an awesome story that I am happy to support = YES

Cheers! :coffee:

How dare the dev scam and milk his creation! How dare he to create beautiful high quality renders, which are abysmally better than (more) than half of other games' renders in this pirated website!
How dare he to purchase music licenses instead of using the 5 same free royalty free tracks that almost every dev uses in their game, if they even bother to put music in their game at all!
How are he to put animations that are way above the quality of repetitive badly animated sex loops we see in other VNs! How dare he to waste so much time crafting cinematics that aren't only of sexual nature!
No, fuck this dev for actually working on a story that makes sense instead of turning everything into a gratifying quick fuck fest!

Bring the pitchforks boys, let's hunt this shameless dev named Ocean for being such an obvious scummy scammer!!!

It's funny how good todo nothings people are constantly complaining about scaming and such, do you pay the creators? Yes, don't like them, don't pay, it's as simple as that. You don't pay them, what are you complaining about, we get it for free here.

Not fast enough? Yeh I can relate, it's difficult to get everything right, if you do it to fast, you get a new group complaining about it doesn't work, to many bugs. (Good example is Amnesty and that mod, which constantly threw exceptions, it's fixed now, it seems).

The userinterface sucks, yep another one, just copy and paste because the dev wants to do story, fine. Or try to come up with something new, unknown to us, so it sucks, etc, very difficult to get that good. Why the fuck do we get dark bars over the import part of the pictures, just another one...

Making something great is difficult and takes time, a lot of time. And lets just say it, if you work full time on something and you don't get paid at least 10.000 euro's/dollars a month, I would hardly call it being overpaid.

God bless the so called "trolls". Y'all deserve medals for the work you put in. I know it's not easy. Or rewarding. But by God it is honest work.

You fellas come to a thread and revive it with a single post, getting a rise out of all the developer fellatio enthusiasts and allowing us common folk to be entertained by each comment posted. You are the unsung heroes of F95! I salute you all!

It would be interesting to know how many developers/designers etc, 2.9m is of course a lot, but then you need to remove 10% for patreon, and how many people are paid with it. Unlikely it is only 1 person. Of course with bad story line it's possible.

Ocean:

3-10k a month, which is nice, at least summer's gone has a good story line.
